Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #119
Mau is helping today with the Friendly Fill-Ins by completing the first one. I have completed the other three. We both used teal italics for our completions.
1. Mau: My lovely wife Allie brings out the best in me.
2. Heat and humidity and animal cruelty make me grumpier than Grumpy Cat.
3. If money grew on trees, I would plant more and more trees so I could support all the homeless animals and people.
This is a good opportunity to remind you about #RememberMeThursday. To learn more about and/or become involved with #RememberMeThursday, click on the graphic.
4. I have a fear of FIRE. When I was a kid on vacation with my family, we ended up driving through a forest fire. It is the most frightened I have ever been. I won’t even light a match. My nephew is a Captain with CalFire (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection). He wanted to be a firefighter from the time he was a little boy. I am proud of him for pursuing his dream.
Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted each Friday by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). The sentences to be completed can be found on their blogs each Thursday. This is a great way to learn a bit more about your fellow bloggers. To join in, click on the Fill-Ins badge.
We also are joining the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus. To join in click on the badge below.
We used to live just outside of a national forest when we were in South Carolina. Once we were in a burn ban, but did not know it. Our house was in the center of three fire towers. We had plowed out a garden and had hoses running to the garden and set fire to the pile of brush in the middle of the cleared garden. Not too long after we set fire to it, a helicopter from the sheriff’s office was dispatched and then forest fire control showed up with their “Fast attack truck”. They didn’t say anything to us. After they saw how well everything was contained and that were were right there at the fire with multiple hoses, they left. We had s’mores that night while we sat and tended to the fire. From that point on, we would call the local fire tower to ask if we were in a burn ban and tell them our burn plans BEFORE we lit a fire. Have a blessed week.
I think that fire is beautiful and powerful, but can also be very deadly and destructive. It isn’t something to be played with and people should be responsible when using it. Irresponsible people have destroyed some beautiful areas that will take a long time to recover. 🙁
I understand completely your pride in your nephew. He has a very worthwhile job. 🙂
Heat and humidity and animal cruelty make me grumpy, too.
Have a blessed weekend.
Your fill-ins are fantastic! We completely agree with #2, especially about terrible animal cruelty. We have nearly the same answer for #3. And thank you for the reminder about #RememberMeThursday! We need to make sure we prep for this ahead of time. Purrs!
Thank you all for participating in the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. That fire must have been very scary. I have never lit a match, my mother put the fear in me of fires. I can barely light a fireflick 🙂 I hope your nephew stays safe. Have a nice weekend! XO
I thought I was original on #3 but everyone has a similar idea. Great answers BTW. TW is terrified of fire cos when she was 4 or 5, her mother took her to see a huge fire a few blocks away. She had nightmares for years about it.
We LOVE Remember Me Thursday and The Tribe of Five purrticipate every year!
Purrs & Head Bonks,

Good job with the fill ins, Mau! We like your idea of planting more trees…if only they grew money.
That must have been such a scary thing, driving through fire. I am so glad the people in this community want to help humans and animals with the money trees.
Good job on those answers and we agree, fires are super scary.
You did well with your money tree. I didn’t think outside the box at all. I just knew I couldn’t be on a ladder. My bad. Love all your answers. Funny how we all fear something.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Yep, I can’t print my thoughts and feelings as to what should be done to those who abuse animals and children. Wow, so much appreciation to your nephew and all firefighters, particularly at the moment those involved in all those fires raging out west. Praying that they be kept safe.
Happy Friday! We SO admire firefighters anywhere but especially those in California now with all the horrible fires. Good for your nephew being a Captain! We said on our blog today that if money grew on trees we’d be rich – living in a “woods” with trees everywhere would be a BIG PLUS!
Love, Teddy
