Thankful Thursday

Dad Tom and I have designated in our will a close friend (with generous compensation) as the caregiver of any cat who is still part of the household when we are both gone. Today, however, I asked Noelle and Raz’s mom, Sharon (Friends Furever), if she would be willing to take Sawyer into her home.  She said, “yes.” Sawyer is overjoyed that should this occur, he will be with his girlfriend, Noelle. According to Mom Sharon, the feeling is reciprocated. So that is the main and most wonderful thankful ever for us. We know he will be loved and get exceptional care.

I also am thankful for the beauty of spring all around our home. Here are a couple of photos.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thursday also is the day I write a poem for the poetry challenge presented by Angel Sammy and Teddy from Two Spoiled Cats. This week’s inspiration photo and my poem are below.

Longing for Home

This young woman looks super bored.
Selling candy and cigarettes to strangers
not her idea of a rewarding career.
She’s seen dozens of movies for free,
But she’d rather be on the screen—
An actress in beautiful costumes
With admiring fans applauding her.
She came to Hollywood to be discovered
But found she couldn’t live on dreams.
Iowa or Kansas or wherever she’s from
Is looking pretty good right about now.

If you’d like to try your hand at writing some poetry, you can find the inspiration photo for next week by clicking on the poetry badge below.

While visiting Two Spoiled Cats, please make certain you read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Bridge each week, and it is always a winner.

Here in Michigan, we can set up a trust, so our cats are taken care of should we be unable.

I hope Sharon won’t need to take in Sawyer, but it is good to have a plan. Great poem and beautiful blooms. XO

Dad has the same thing set up and he actually spoke to someone yesterday about that exact thing. So glad Sawyer is going to a home with loving Mom and his gal Noelle

It’s good you’ve provided care in your will for your loved 4 leggers. We have too, also with plenty of money to help. Hope for the best, plan for the worst, right?
Like your poem. It does seem to fit.
We hate that poor Sawyer had another seizure. I know it’s heartbreaking to go through this with him.

Scout Mangoand Mom April 15, 2021 at 5:58 pm

Well dear Sawyer, it’s Scout Mango, we at our house have 8 cats purring for you! This is to end, to taper off, your seizures! No one knows why some cats get seizures! Me, Mango, I don’t know who my Mom and Dad were! And, I get small weird growths in my ears! And on other small places too! I don’t know why! See I am not like Scout Willow! Scout Willow knows her Mom was Smoop! And her Dad was Rocky! Her Dad’s Mother was a big girl named Duchess ! And Willow is big like Duchess was and Willow has the same white furr of Rocky and Duchess and the Blue eyes of Smoop! But, Sawyer, I was a feral kitten that Mom tamed! Now I am sweet!!

I don’t know my parents at all! And, I don’t know why I get little growths on my body! Since I came alone to Mom! All by myself! I have had an odd bump on my lower back ever since Mom took me in! And maybe some time it will be removed! But we’ll, I have had it my entire life! It doesn’t hurt but has gotten slightly bigger as I have gotten older! Since it’s really deep and part of my spine, Mom has left it alone!! So, Sawyer, dear friend! Know that we love you! And yes! Eight of us see are all purring for you! This includes us three Scouts a)Mango and b)Willow and c) Scout Tigger; then BellaJo; Jack, (who used to be called Pumpkin when a kitten); Jordan River—she is partly feral and still very timid, so Jordan likes to live under beds— there are two additional males— Ollie Bear age 4 , And, Shadow, age 3

That’s a most wonderful thankful. Thinking and planning ahead is the right thing to do and Sharon is the perfect choice.

Love the poem.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to mom. ♥

We hope that day doesn’t come but, if it did, we would be honored to have sweet Sawyer come live with us. Noelle isn’t the only one who loves him.

Your house is beautiful and your poem is great.

That’s wonderful that Sawyer has a special arrangement should something happen to his parents. Sorry he had another seizure yesterday – he looks so cozy and comfy as he rests afterward. I agree that in today’s photo for poetry the usherette looks like she’d rather be anywhere else than there – she probably told her family she would be “in the movies” but they didn’t think she meant THAT! Great poem! The photo of your house in the Spring is magical…..beautiful……all that yard work is paying off.

Hugs, Pam

That is great to ‘plan/think ahead’ like that.
But I don’t want to havre to know about anything like that with you all for a LONHG time…wait, never! (Sorry I am not realistic sometimes…but hubby and I have had those kind of discussions, too…)
Sorry that Sawyer had yet another Seizure. Awww. POTP and soft aroos going his way.

That is an interesting take on that poetry picture prompt. I never even would have thought that way!

Your Magnolias are gorgeous!!
