Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thursday is one of my favorite days of the week, as writing poetry is what I enjoy most. And the inspiration photos provided by Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) always provide a nice challenge. I have been trying to add one or more of the Kitties Blue to the photos recently, so my poems are in keeping with the theme of this blog.
This week our intrepid adventurers, Stinky and Periwinkle, have found themselves in the photo and have actually written the poem today in the form of a conversation. Their initials precede their individual parts of the conversation.
The Little House in the Woods
S: Periwinkle, look at this cute little house.
It looks just big enough for a mouse.
P: Or maybe a place for you and me
To hide away among these trees.
We should peak in the windows and check
To see if it’s nice or a terrible wreck.
S: I’m not sure that’s a good plan.
It could be home to the bogeyman.
P: Don’t be silly, I’m sure it’s okay.
After all, have I ever lead you astray?
But, if you insist, we could ring the bell
And ask if they might be willing to sell
To two adorable tabby kitties,
Who would always keep it neat and pretty.
S: I guess that would be okay;
Though, I haven’t brought any money today.
P: Well, it seems as if there is no one here.
Do you think we could wait until they appear?
S: How about we come back another day,
And I will bring along some money to pay
In case we can convince the owner to sell
To tabby cats who want to live happy and well.

If you are unfamiliar with Periwinkle and Stinky, you can check out their adventures on alternate Tuesdays here and at Friends Furever. They will be right here next Tuesday.
Poetry is lots of fun to write. If you haven’t tried it, and don’t know where to start, the web-site, Shadow Poetry, is a great resource.

Thankful Thursday
Today is also when we share our thankfuls for the week. I am delighted to report that all the Kitties Blue are well. Sawyer has not had a seizure in 15 days, and Audrey and Raleigh are thriving. Misty May is holding her own and looking forward to her 18th birthday in ten days.
I am getting around a bit better, my pain level has dropped some, and I have an appointment with the P.A. in my orthopedist’s office tomorrow.
Finally, Dad Tom and I are thankful we have continued to avoid getting COVID. Being retired definitely has its advantages.
We’d like to thank Brian for hosting Thankful Thursday. It is a blog hop. You can participate by entering the URL from the badge below in your browser.
That’s a great poem today, and so glad you have good news to share. Sending wags and gentle woofs. Lucy, Chia, Riley and Xena
That was such a wonderful poem you two and those were terrific thankfuls too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I truly love that poem! XX
Love the poem. Cute.
Great list of thankful things. I’m happy about Sawyer and you. Great news.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and Sawyer and a big hug to you. ♥
That was a fun poem and a bonus Stinky and Periwinkle tale. 🙂 I am glad your pain has lessened. I will be here to help Misty May celebrate. XO
Oh Stinky, wouldn’t it be pawsome to be able to buy that place for ourselves? I am pretty sure we can’t afford it but it is nice to dream.
We’re always thrilled to hear that Sawyer is doing well and we’re glad Mom Janet is feeling better.
Please tell Misty May that 18 is a great age!!
Love and whisker kisses,
Periwinkle
Hope Stinky and Periwinkle get their little house!
Great news about Sawyer.
Early birthday wishes to Misty May!
Awww, charming poem about two charming kitties! Good to hear that you are doing better and that the kitties are all doing well. And Misty May, 18, wow!
Love your poetry…we giggle a lot and that’s GOOD.
What a totally fabulous poem! I love the conversation P&S had and I hope they are able to buy that adorable house as it would be perfect for our two adventurers. Teddy and I are so happy that everycat in the house is well – kittens and “grownups” and dear Misty May will soon be celebrating 18! Thanks so much for joining in Angel Sammy’s poetry day – you always “knock it out of the park” with your poems.
Hugs, Pam

What great news that Sawyer is on another seizure free streak.
Misty May is going to be 18! Wow! Best wishes to her.
Our first kitty got to be at least 18, we were not too sure of his exact age…
