Sleeping Cat Caturday Art

Today’s Caturday Art features a snoozing Mauricio. He was lying on the kitchen counter atop my placemat and napkin. Before you say, “ew,” we weren’t eating at the time. Some of you will still cringe at the thought of him being there. Sorry, but we lost control years ago! To be honest, we were just happy he was sleeping and not running his mouth.

To create today’s art, I used PicMonkey. I started with the photo of Mauricio (below) and added three textures. The first texture was the photo of ice (on the right) taken by Dad Tom. After that, I added PicMonkey’s burst and clouds textures. Finally I added the frame in Picasa.

That’s a great photo of Mau. We pretty much do whatever we want to do too. Mom and dad gave up trying to get us to do what they want us to do. We are getting older and don’t jump as much as we used to.

A cat napping or sitting on my eating surfaces doesn’t bother me one bit. Very sweet photo and artwork!

I love this picture of Mauricio, both the original and the artified one. He looks so sweet and cozy!

And don’t worry, I’ve lost all control of the kitchen counters at my house, too. My girls Thimble and Eddy constantly use it as a catwalk, and my sister’s cat Toby sleeps on it. The only cat who doesn’t climb onto the counters at my house is Evan, which is only because he, if you remember, can’t jump due to hind limb paralysis. Life with cats sure is an adventure! Purrs!

Very nice picture! Our cats aren’t “allowed” on the counter, but of course they probably spend a good part of the day up there when we’re not around. At least they have the decency to jump down when they hear us coming. We hear a “thunk, thunk” and scurrying off. 🙂
