Awww Mondays/International Cat Day
The seven older Kitties Blue have been getting to know Audrey and Raleigh through the mesh of the kitten enclosure. Yesterday, however, Audrey ventured outside a bit, and Kizmet made a brief trip inside. If you look closely, you can see Raleigh’s head in the little orange tent behind Kizmet. He is a bit more timid than his sister.
The kittens also got to try out their harnesses for the first time yesterday. They have been wearing collars for the past week, which they haven’t seemed to mind. They seemed perfectly content in the harnesses as well. I am hoping to get them comfortable enough to go outside on leashes for some walks, adventures and exploration.
Kizmet and the kittens are taking part in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Comedy Plus. You can join them there by clicking on the Awww badge.

Sparks
Dad Tom took this beautiful photo of sunflowers growing in a pot in our backyard. Did you notice the bee on the right side of the largest sunflower?
I wanted a Spark that would compliment the flowers and found this one from Luther Burbank. (An interesting fact with reference to Luther Burbank: We were both born on March 7, exactly 100 years apart.)
The sunflowers remind me we still need to pray for and support the Ukranians.
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

It sounds like the intros are going really well, and that sure does make us happy. The sunflower pic is lovely, as is your spark. Yes, we must definitely remember and support Ukraine.
Glad the intros seem to be going well.
Cute photo and great spark. XO
Kizmet, you are adorable checking out the newbies, good for you!
Awww on the new additions and getting them used to collars and leashes will enrich their lives. Going outside to explore is a good thing.
Love the Spark. It’s spot on.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and Sawyer and a big hug to mom. ♥
Start them early!
Celestial Angel and Chuck learned to get their nails trimmed as babies, but Da Boyz won’t have it, and The Hubby refuses to be ‘mean’.
Both Manny and CB are very good with their claws, so it’s not an issue, but as I’ve mentioned before, Sweetie’s murder mitts are fierce but I’m not going to fight with her for trims.
Seems Audrey is the extrovert and is going to make friends fast. I was just thinking this past week how everyone seems to have forgotten about the horrors still happening in Ukraine. Yes, prayers for all those innocent people and their nation.

Hi Raleigh! I see your head in the tent! Beautiful pic of the sunflowers! Happy International Cat Day!
We love your Spark and the photo. We see Raleigh in the tent and it’s sweet to see Kizmet and Audrey checking each other out. Mom wishes she had tried a harness on Noelle when she was younger because she freaks out in the PTU.
Bad Mom hit submit before I could send my love and whisker kisses to Sawyer!
I love seeing the kittens coming into their own and how good that the older residents are willing to welcome them into the family.
I would hve loved getting a kitty who would be ready and willing to try a harness and I could take him or her out for walks. But I never thought of it when I had a kitten and my older ones I adopted told me where to get off.
Same experience here with older kitties. if you get it on them, they just lie down and refuse to move. If they do stand up, they walk around like their legs are broken. Even Kizmet (6 months old when adopted) would not cooperate!
Great photo! We love the pot of sunflowers too – they are such a huge sign of hope. Looks like Audrey is fine with her harness and think it’s fun that both of the “newbies” will be able to go outside for walks and play in the yard. We think it was brilliant getting the enclosure for them to become accustomed to the other kitties and their new home!!!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
Oh, you are so wise to start kittens with leashes! How we wish we had done that with Loulou so that she could talk walks in the village but she does have the garden. Also wish we had put her in a car when she was young, to get used to travel. DARLING little head peeking up….
Oh, how true. We LOVE flowers, especially roses in our garden but also all the flowers that decorate this sweet little village.
Bzzz, found that bee!
I love sunflowers and we have a lot of volunteers that I did not plant, the birds did the work.
Audrey is brave and looks comfy around Kizmet. One day Raleigh will get braver, too. I wonder if the others will want to come out with you if those two start going on adventures.
I do see Raleigh’s head in the tent! The picture is just too cute! Lovely picture of the sunflowers and I do see the bee. And I agree, we do still need to support the Ukrainians.
