Sunday Selfies: Week # 214
I was quite proud of myself, as I thought I had taken the purrfect selfie. I gave it to Mom to crop and add a border. When she was finished and showed it to me, I was shocked. I had no idea that squirrel had snuck up behind me. What a brazen little photobomber. Just ignore him. Okay?
I am keeping this short today, so we can say good-bye to some friends who have flown off to the Rainbow Bridge. I will include all that hopping stuff at the end of the post.
Remembering Basil
On September 9, our friend and a beloved member of the Cat Blogosphere traveled to the Rainbow Bridge after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Basil was a Cat Scout and the Commander of the “B” Team (his fursibs). They went on the most amazing and fantastic adventures. After reading the novel (Basil The Bionic Cat) his mum, Catherine, wrote about him, we were positive he was indestructible, so his leaving us for the greatest adventure of all was a huge shock. Mom absolutely adored his little, heart-shaped nose, and she cried buckets when she found out he’d gotten his wings. We’ll be holding him in our hearts and will never forget Basil. Rest In Peace does not seem appropriate, as we are pretty certain he’s already planning incredible escapades for himself and the many friends who were waiting for him.
If you have not left your condolences for Basil’s family, you can do so here.
Good-Bye to Milita and Miles
Four other friends have left us this past week. We are remembering two here and will honor the other two on next week’s Sunday Selfies hop. Rest in Peace sweet friends knowing you were loved and will never be forgotten.

That photo is beautifully taken! I have to try so hard to keep my cats to look straight… they just love to look at everything else but the camera!
Just wanted to send some paw-sitive vibes your way! :3
It’s so hard to hear that more furr-iends have gone OTRB. It must be a very be-au-ti-ful place, though, ’cause they were all be-au-ti-ful in their own special ways. Purrs of condolence for all the families who have had to say goodbye to their companions.
Dearest all at Cat on My Head, thank mew so much fur this beautiful tribute fur Basil, we know he’d say it was EPICALLY EPIC and we totally agree through our tears, and we also send our heartfelt condolences to Milita and Mile’s furmillies too, so much sadness in one week 🙁

Athena and Marie
That is a wonderful selfie, and I even like the photobomber.
I too am very sad that so many friends have left for the Bridge. Five in a week is far too many and it has to stop! They will all be sadly missed.
That is a lovely selfie, but that squirrel was very cheeky to photobomb you.
Sawyer you take a fine Selfie but goodness that busy tailed Photobomber needs a little meowing to. Give him the cats-eye through the window.
We are so sorry to hear about our dear friends who have left us. Basil was one of our furst friends when we found cats on the internets as were Milita and Miles Meezer. The sad fact of life is we are not here as long as our pawrents. That meowed we pack a hundred years of love in our time here so all remember us in their hearts always
Thanks so much for another Sunday Selfie where we can see and visit our friends.
Purrs to dear friends past, present and those we are yet to meet
Timmy and Family
OH the nerve that of that squirrel, still it was a fantastic selfie of you!
We lost part of our hearts this week…again. We were so sadden by the passing of not one, not two, not three, but four more of our beloved cats. Sometimes it feels like you can’t just take one more. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Mom’s and Dad’s of these beloved kitties. RIP
Your selfie is darling! Squirrels are notorious camera hogs – bad ol’ squirrel!
Our hearts go out to the families who lost their loved ones this week, such sad news.
You had the purrfect selfie and then that evil squirrel tried to mess it up. Not to worry, you did just fine.
Sad about all the kitties that have gone to the bridge of late. So very sad.
Have a purrfect Sunday Selfie. My best to your peeps. ♥
OMC that evil squirrel really was very brazen! It’s still a great selfie though!
Too much sadness this week.
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and loads of love to Mau from Allie
Your selfie is gorgeous. Even though there is a fame grabbing ebil squirrel in it. XX

**purrsss** BellaDharma
PeeEss: Thankx fur the link ups Miss Janet.
Oh Sawyer, how awful for you to have such a brazen beast living so close! I despise squirrels. They are evil thieves that steal my oak tree’s acorns every year and they threaten me with death if I try to defend my tree… I see your squirrel not only steals your limelight, it is also stealing seed from your birds. They are despicable creatures!
Purrseidon
Wow, Sawyer! That’s a great selfie. But you might want to watch out for that squirrel. It looks nearly as big as you! 😁
Such sad news. So many furrbabies moving on. 😢
Way too many sweeties leaving, but that is a wonderful selfie.
Oh that cheeky squirrel! It’s still a great selfie, Sawyer.
We’re sad about all our friends that have left us recently. We purr for their families because we know they are really missing them.
Lovely selfie even if you were photobombed. So sad about all the kitties this week!
We love the picture, even with the surprise guest! Thank you also for the lovely tribute – we are so very sad to hear the news of so many precious angel kitties. May they be at peace. Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.
It’s a wonderful picture and we love the squirrel surprise. Lovely tribute, too. We are so sorry to hear of so many precious angels. May they be at peace. Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.
I think it is a great photo, with or without the squirrel.
Sawyer you had a visitor while you were posing so nicely on your Catio! Tee Hee…..I think he KNEW he was photobombing! We sure had a lot of friends head to the Bridge this past week…..I try to remember that we all have a “time” to leave and the place we go is beautiful and full of friends who will welcome us with open arms. Love is forever.
Hugs, Teddy
It’s a great selfie, even wif da photobomb.
A squirrel as background is not that bad ! You look great anyway !
So many losses of fine friends, we are very down.
Oh my, what a cheeky squirrel. Thank goodness it was only bombing the picture and not Sawyer being bombed with nuts or acorns!
Toodle pips and gentle purrs for those we have said good by to…
ERin
Oh, Sawyer, don’t worry about the squirrel, he doesn’t make a chance with your breathtaking looks…but he’s quite cute, though😸
What a beautiful tribute to a very special furriend. He was loved so much, we still have tears when we see pictures of Basil. It’s hard when you knew some kitties for quite some time, they also leave a hole in our hearts😿
Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday to all of you, sweet KittiesBlue🐾😽💞
We’ve lost so many kitties in the blogosphere recently. 🙁
Wow, looks like that squirrel thought it was HIS selfie day! You’re cuter though
I think the photobomber adds a bit of natural artiness to your selfie and you did the perfect job,xx Speedy
Sawyer, I would never have noticed the squirrel. You shine way brighter than the squirrel.
A very nice dedication to Basil. He was in the Thundercat patrol at Cat Scouts. A great friend to all and had a lovely heart-shaped nose. Basil’s antics will live in my memory.
Shoko
Thank you for the lovely remembrance of Basil, we will make sure his mom knows so she will come and visit. You are very kind and, yes, we cried too.
We will miss him too and know his my is desperately sad.
Sawyer, you nailed your selfie! The nerve of that squirrel to photobomb you like that, though.
We are so sad about Basil. He is one of our besties, and we are devastated. We’re sending big purrs and much love to the P.A., Dad and the B Team. And also to Lita’s family. The Bridge has been so busy lately. It’s so heartbreaking.
That was a wonderful tribute you made for all the kitties…what a week it has been. And a lovely lovely Basil graphic too. We are Basil admirers and did a tribute too. Thank you for your loving presence!
