Sparks/Awww Mondays
I am uniting these two posts today with one photo that goes paw-in-paw with my Spark.
Sawyer was impatiently waiting for 11 a.m. (treat time) and decided to clear the counter of everything including the treats, which went first. These clearings were his small pleasures and a tiny success while he waited for the big one—treats, which always bring him happiness.
In an attempt to remain safe and healthy during the pandemic, by staying at home most of the time, I think many of us are relying on the small pleasures and tiny successes. My small pleasures include snuggling purring kitties, working in the garden, texting with friends, reading, riding Peloton, looking at photos of Mau…
My tiny successes have come at physical therapy where I have accomplished things such as standing unaided for two minutes, putting bowls down on the floor and picking them up again without spilling the contents or losing my balance and learning to walk with a heel-toe gait. I have been going to physical therapy twice a week for seven months. My big success, which I know will bring me happiness, will be when I am given my “walking” papers.
What are your small pleasures and tiny successes?
Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!
Sawyer will be hopping over to Comedy Plus for Awww Mondays. If you’d like to join him, click on the badge below.
The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky
Tomorrow these two terrific tabbies will be right here to share another of their exciting adventures. They are hoping, as they always do, that you will join them. Please don’t disappoint them by missing out. See you tomorrow!
Having little successs is great because each one builds onto the next till the mountain has been conquered!
I am glad you are making such progress with the PT! If I was there I would clap for you each time you regain a skill you had lost.
When I was on chemo in 2006/7, I kept on keeping on, even though everyone told me to rest and let us do it…well, I walked 2 miles each day…( the dog, MJF needed it as much as I did)…and I went to church each week, cause I thought, I can sit at home and feel bad…or weak…or I can go to church and feel the same way, but be blessed by the family that church is. Now I work, even though I am a senior in years, and peeps ask me why I still work, I just quietly tell them, because I want to and I CAN!
Though these days it IS hard to work in health care with the covid mess we are in…so far, I am blessed to test negative each time they test us.
What a great spark, and we love how you paired it with Sawyer’s photo. So glad to har you are making progress in your PT. XO
We really like that spark as you surely need the small to build the larger. Life really can grow when we take those little things and give the the chance to blossom.
Dad: I remember when I went to therapy for the first time after being in hospitals for 90 days with 21 surgeries. I hated it. I could not stand on my broken knee at all (one leg only as the other was gone) I went for 3 days they they stood me in that damn machine and I refused. Then I stood for 20 seconds. What a challenge. What a rush. I did it! Yes it is small goals that lead to success. Keep up the good work
We are all sending our purrs and prayers of support and thinking of dear Mau
I am glad your PT is going well and you are making improvements.
That’s a terrific Spark and we’re so happy to read about your progress!
Great spark and adorable photo. My small pleasures are my kitties and reading. Glad therapy is helping you. XO
Good for you on your progress, sending prayers your way for your walking papers! Sawyer, you are one peristent kitty and a cutie patootie too.
Awww, Sawyer wants his treats and he always knows what time it is. Our Little Bit was like that. You couldn’t fool her on when it was time for something.
Physical therapy is such a good thing, but many don’t put in the effort. They go because they have to and often end up having surgery. What comes after surgery? Physical therapy. I worked hard and didn’t have the surgery.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to the mom. ♥
I recall how slowly my pt went on my broken fingers, but then things started clicking!
Being patient is the hardest part of pt, but look, you have progress! Yay!
Sawyer is one determined cat when it comes to getting his treats. We’re glad to hear your PT is going well.
Noelle says she’s on the way!!
It’s great news that your PT is showing results. We need to enjoy small pleasures these days (and always).
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Angel Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
Glad the physical therapy is going well.
YAY for good P.T. successes – you’re doing so well! I love that Sawyer got so impatient that he pushed everything off the counter…..that’s what I call a “HINT”. Keep cool and enjoy all the small successes you can find – they add up to BIG successes in the end.
Love, Pam
I am glad you’re having progress with your physical therapy.
