Sunday Selfies: Week #269
We were all pretty excited to be exempt from taking a selfie this week. In lieu of that, however, Mom is having us write this post for her. She worked in the yard for four hours and is exhausted. She’s having a very difficult time staying awake.
So here is our guest host.
Mom and Dad looked out the kitchen window yesterday and were shocked to see this fellow sitting on the fence chowing down on morning glory leaves. They were taken aback. Did you know that ground hogs can climb? We didn’t. They are called “ground” hogs after all.
This is a little fellow. He’s about one-third the size of the massive one that hangs out under the bird feeder. Earlier in the summer we thought they had moved on, as our sunflowers were not being devoured. Maybe their tastes have changed, and they like morning glories better.
Anyhoo, now it’s your turn to share your selfie. Here are those tips our Mom likes us to post.

Purrs and paw-pats, Kitties Blue
I kind of wish we had more groundhogs in our area, because I think they’re so cute. Not as cute as kitties, though, of course!
Honestly? I think he is kinda cute. I mean, he looks positively blissful monching on your Mom’s flowers. I like to monch on plants and flowers and stuff, which is why the Human doesn’t have many of those anymore.
We hope your Mom got some rest and it was nice the rest of you got to shove off hosting duties on the new kid.
Kissies to MMM XOXOXO
Wowsa! We don’t have them here ~ Ma says good thing, cause I knows I would gets me some….um…snacks! BOL!!!
I hopes your Moms isn’t sore tomorrows ~ Ma always says she is sore after a hard day in the garden. Butts she is older than dirt, so I am sure your Moms will be just fine!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥

Those fellows will eat anything. Hope they dont like Joocy Cats
That really is a cool looking critter and an excellent selfie!
Back home they can’t get rid of morning glories, here in Texas I have to really baby them to get them to grow – MOL! I think that is a fencehog not a groundhog, I hope he doesn’t eat all the blooms they’re so pretty.
He takes a nice selfie 🙂 Sorry about the morning glories though. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day! XO
We would have expected to find a Groundhog on the Ground, this is actually the first one we have seen. Thank you for showing him to us.
We’ve never seen a ground hog around here…though we bet there are some. He’s making lunch out of those morning glories, that’s for sure!
Oh, he’s a cutie!! Our morning glories take over everything, so we could use a groundhog or two keeping them in check!
Wow….we’ve never seen anything like him!! How nice of him to host Sunday Selfies!!
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Stinky from Periwinkle
I guess I’ve never really watched groundhogs enough to actually ever see them climb anything. They are rather cute though 🙂
Very cute critter! XOX
Looks cool!
Awwww…..I think groundhogs are cute even if they do help themselves to some of the more tender outside stuff our Moms plant! Maybe this one is related to the BIG one you’ve seen in your yard?? Happy Sunday to all of you (including this little guy!).
Hugs, Teddy
Dear Furiends, that was a very clever way of avoiding the camera…. Has Katsu been giving you tips? Still your guest looks very interesting. I had no idea morning glories were tasty, but the leaves look a lot like some types of our sweet potatoes, and I know they taste like spinach. Purrhaps that ground hog is Popeye.
Thank you for hosting this blog hop and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Purrseidon
Oh, how sweet💗 We don’t have grounddogs around, but they’re welcome anytime😺Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday to all of you🐾😽💞
Oh wow, Some cool selfie. We have a few hedgehogs here but no ground hogs!
Have a good week and take it easy Miss Janet (says Harvey!)
Our hedgehogs are a lot smaller than yours and covered in spines and I think not into climbing, and not into plants either so far as I know. But then ours don’t seem to like to be photographed so yours is clearly a natural performer and a very good selfie taker, too!
Splend selfie from you Ground Hog friend,xx Speedy
That is some brave and bold hungry groundhog! I didn’t know they would eat morning glories…and the big dudes might be too heavy to climb…but the younger smaller ones can be quite agile.
You sure got him/her to snag a great selfie!
Awesome guest selfie! We love groundhogs! We did not know they could climb. We’re going to go read that SciAm article now. 🙂
Happy Sunday, sweet friends. Thank you for hosting! XO
