Sparks
The Spark I selected for today is something none of us would dispute. But the outpouring of kindness the past few days reminded me just how important and special friendship is, especially in times of grief. Dad Tom, Kitties Blue and I appreciate your support and thoughtful comments regarding our beloved Mau. Thank you.
Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!
Awww Mondays
I think the photo I have selected to share for the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus is a good representation of friendship. These are our two mismatched peas in a pod.
Cooper Murphy and Sawyer are great friends and companions. Surprisingly, however, their relationship has changed in the past two days. They have spent the nights chasing and jumping on each other, hissing, biting each others necks and generally creating a ruckus. I had to separate them twice last night and banish them from the bedroom to different areas of the house. They most likely are trying to decide which of them will become the alpha male in the household now that Mau is gone. I am certain Mauricio never thought of himself as “top cat,” but his brothers obviously viewed him that way.
Which one will end up on top is anybody’s guess. Sawyer is half Cooper Murphy’s size, but Cooper Murphy is a sweet, laid back cat. I am praying they have come to an agreement, and our nights will return to normal.

That’s a great spark, Mom Janet. We sure hope Sawyer and Cooper Murphy figure things out soon. XO
How unsettling for you all, but maybe they are working out their grief, or they are going to have at it till one submits…
Friends are the pillars that hold you up when you can’t do it yourself…
That is a great spark. It is interesting how family dynamics change when one goes to The Bridge. I hope they work things out, maybe they could share top spot. XO
We hope you guys are doing okay and hope that things between Cooper Murphy and Sawyer settle down.
It’s hard watching the transition in alpha cats, but it is something that has to happen. Sending hugs your way.
If Mau was the alpha male by virtue of being there the longest, that has changed things too. Who came to you , CM or Sawyer ?
Purrayers they settle down and are friends again soon!
I meant Who came to your first, Coop or Sawyer?
Everyone is affected by the loss of a family member. Even the kitties. It will work itself out, but it will take time. You two are my favorite kitties.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties and a big healing hug to your wonderful mom. ♥
The Cat Blogosphere is a wonderful community. Purrs and love from all of us.
don’t think I’m nuts; well I am but, like humans when going through the stages of grief
{ one of which is anger } and I do believe cats grieve as well
maybe cooper and sawyer, could be just trying to “get it out of their system” ~~~~~ ???
🙁 ♥♥♥
They’ll work it out, they’re both good boys. Hugs from all of us.
The balance in the pecking order has been disrupted; here’s hoping everyone calms down soon enough. Humans with sore hearts are extra upsetable with conflicts right now.
We cherish your friendship. We are a family and will always be there for you.
As far as the two boys….Noelle says Sawyer needs to be a good boy and not fight with his brofur. She has to admit that she and Raz get into it sometimes during the night too but they are also good buddies. Around here, Allie is top cat.
The Florida Furkids and Mom Sharon with smoochies and love to Angel Mau at the Bridge from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
Mom and I depend on the loving friendship of others here in the CB. We are always and ever sure to find understanding and care here when things go either joyfully or sadly. We can turn to one another for perfect understanding.
Oh those boys! Well, I suppose it’s natural for them to want to take over the Blue Throne that Mau left behind but keeping Mom and Dad up all night is not a good way to do it! They will settle down – this is new for them and the whole family…..the whole “kitty dynamic” has changed. As for friendship – my Mom values greatly her friendship with your Mom and all the wonderful people we know through my blog and otherwise. Life would be boring and lonely without FRIENDS………they are the icing on the cake !
Love and Hugs, Teddy
I’m shure they’ll settle down after a lil bit. They’ve got to be missing Mau.
