Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #31
We are joining this week’s Christmas-themed Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader.) The kitties asked me to complete all four fill-ins, as they found them to be human-oriented. My completions are in teal italics.
This is a blog hop. To enter, visit McGuffy’s Reader.
1. I love the following Christmas film(s): Miracle on 34th Street (1947 version), Holiday Inn, While You Were Sleeping.
2. I don’t care for the following Christmas film(s): Bad Santa.
3. At the holidays, I cannot resist peppermint bark candy.
4. A favourite holiday memory of mine is the first time I got to make the cake for my grandpa’s birthday, which was on December 24. It was his 70th birthday, and I was 13 years old. I made the cake from scratch, and it had three layers, red, green and white. (I have a black and white photo of my grandpa and me as he was cutting the cake. I was going to share it, but I had the WORST EVER hairstyle, and the photo is blurry.)
Instead of sharing the cake-cutting photo, I am sharing this totally gratuitous photo of the most spoiled cat on the planet! Enjoy, and feel totally free to snorgle that belly. I promise he won’t wake up.
Also, this week we are joining the Friendship Friday blog hop at Create With Joy. Ramona has kindly selected The Cat on My Head to be this week’s featured blog for the second time. The post is in memory of our beautiful angel, Fiona. All the Kitties Blue and I are most appreciative and thank Ramona for thinking of us as we continue to grieve. It truly warms our hearts to see this tribute to our angel.

Friendship is a precious thing and a treasure to be cherished.
We love that picture of Mauricio!! He sure is comfy and cozy!
I am so sorry for the loss of Fiona…and I love her name, by the way.
What a sweet memory of you and your grandpa. I think you should share the photo anyway. We won’t laugh. Or, at least I won’t. I promise! I had wild hair days, too, especially when I was a young teenager. 🙂
Have a blessed day and a very Merry Christmas!
Miracle on 34th Street is a great movie. It speaks about all the things that are going against the Christmas Spirit. What Albert says to Kris about the commercialism of Christmas is spot on. Have a great weekend and a Merry Christmas.
Sending you all so much love and care, dear friends. And tummy rubs for Mau! 🙂
P.S. – thank you for the beautiful email message, Mom Janet. We understand, and are here if you need anything, okay? Hugs.
Hi! I really like your answers. I love Holiday Inn but my favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas. I wish you would have shared the pic of you and your grandpa. What a wonderful memory!
I was so sorry to hear about Fiona. I know what a difficult time this must be for you. Mau looks wonderful, belly and all!
That’s a wonderful memory of making your Grandpa’s cake.

Mau, that belly of yours is just asking to be snorgled!

I wanna rub that tummy! Hope you are well and coping as well as can be expected with the loss of Fiona
Mau is such a handsome sweetie. There is no such thing as “gratuitous” in the cat world!
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I can’t believe I forgot about While You Were Sleeping- I love that one and I want to watch it right now. I am ashamed to admit that I like Bad Santa, it cracked me up when he filled the kids Advent calendar with whatever he could find. That was sweet of you to make your grandpa a cake and how nice that you have a photo of it. Congratulations on being chosen a second time to be featured on Create with Joy, I will head on over to there now-after I snorgle that adorable tummy. XO
I would have loved to see that photo! *wink* Bad Santa is one movie that came to mind for me, too. I don’t like any holiday movie that is negative in any way. I am glad that this blog was chosen for recognition. Take your time to grieve your loss in your own way. Hugs.
We just love your fill-ins! I completely forgot to put While You Were Sleeping on my list – I love that movie. I quite despise Bad Santa myself, and I barely made my way through it last year (I won’t be watching it again, needless to say). Peppermint bark sounds so delicious right now, as does the cake you made for your grandpa. How special, that his birthday fell on Christmas Eve. I wonder how he liked that for a birthday? And, thank you, we certainly will be snorgling that tummy now.
Our thoughts and purrs and prayers are still with you. Fiona will never, ever be forgotten.
Sweetest sleep ever! Congrats on your Create with Joy award. Certainly well deserved. Lighting candle for angel Fiona!
Oh that tummy is totally snorgable. I forgot to list “Holiday Inn” as one of my favorite movies but it is – and we have a big pile of wonderful movies we get out every year to watch as part of our holiday tradition. Congratulations on being the featured blog at Create With Joy. As we honor our Angels this holiday, I know they are both smiling and reassuring us that they ARE still with us in spirit.
Love, Pam
