Sparks
After spending the weekend out of town with Dad Tom’s family, I wanted a Spark that represented just how happy it makes me whenever we have the opportunity to do that. As this happens infrequently, I truly do savor it, just as Cooper Murphy and Mau are savoring their time together in this photo.
I was unfamiliar with Earl Nightingale, and so I suspect most of you are unfamiliar with him as well. Nightingale was an American radio speaker and author, dealing mostly with the subjects of human character development, motivation and meaningful existence. He was born in L.A. in 1921 and served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Nightingale was the author of the motivational book, The Strangest Secret. During the early 1950s, he was the voice of Sky King, a radio adventure series hero, and was a WGN radio program host from 1950 to 1956.
Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”
Mau and Cooper Murphy also are joining the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. Click on their badge to join.
Another great read! This resonated with me as I have recently found Earl Nightingale myself and I see him as my mentor. There’s a really good youtube video on the book summary of Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill that is narrated by Earl Nightingale. I listen to it every day! How interesting that the strangest secret is that we become what we think of most. 🙂
I do so remember Earl nightingale, and Sky King on the radio growing up. Wonderful life observation and so suitable for the accompanying photo.
What a bromance you got going on there. You must be doing a lot right!
Oh, that is a wonderful Spark!!! And looooves the photo guys!
Thanks for the smiles!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥

Yes, each time there is anything to revel or delight in, make sure you do it to the fullest…and put it deep into the memory box too, to be cherished at length later on:)

The Florida Furkids with bazillion smoochies and tons of love to Mau from Allie
that is a gorgeous photo – reminds me of Zulu and Frodo! Love the quote too!
I’m glad I’m happy all the time. Some folks aren’t.
Hi Cooper Murphy. Great shot.
Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your peeps. ❤
That quote is so true. Happiness is a state of mind.
Oh what a GREAT photo! Happy you had a fun time on your mini-trip visiting family. We love that quote by Mr. Nightengale…..my Mom says she FIRMLY believes in making yourself happy and not relying on everything else or everyone else around you to do that for you. Being happy IN YOURSELF radiates outside yourself to those around you! We hope you kids have a nice reunion with your parents……………
Hugs, Teddy
