We totally expected to spend an absolutely raucous day playing with all the new toys from the Easter Bunny. But, guess what? No new toys! Did you get that? NO NEW TOYS!
When we inquired ever so politely as to why the Bunny passed us by, we were told that: 1) we have enough toys, 2) there’s a recession and 3) because of #2 the E.B. could only bring toys to the kitties who don’t have as many as we do.
We know we can be a little greedy, but there are eight of us, and what may look like a lot of toys really isn’t if you divide them eight ways. We thought that was a pretty good argument as to why Mom should run out to the pet store and pick up a few things the Bunny should have brought us. She didn’t buy that argument and said that she was not going to the store.
To try to show us that we have lots and lots of toys, Mom took this photo of our toy basket. (All the bright colors actually make it look a little like an Easter basket.) Then she reminded us that more toys can be found under the bed, dressers and various kitchen appliances. She said that if this wasn’t enough proof for us, we should consider our scratchers, toys hanging from our kitty trees and our fling-ama-string.
We still weren’t convinced and as a result much whining, caterwauling and general unrest ensued. In a rather inept way of making it up to us, Mom said we could have some catnip. We do love a little nip and so agreed to the compromise. As if we had a choice.
So what we thought would be a busy day playing has turned into just another easy Sunday with lots of napping, some drooling and, in Giulietta’s case, snoring. Additionally, it is raining and we are not being allowed to go outside.
Happy Easter (hope all of you got some goodies) with purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
P.S. After rolling around in the nip, Giulietta had an attack of sneezies. And following a mini cat fit, Lily Olivia had an episode of projectile vomiting. Bet Mommy wishes the E.B. had brought us new toys.

We just get our mom’s makeshift toys, or what she tries to call toys when she throws a bunch of paper scraps on the floor or we get a big piece of cardboard. But we do our best to play with them because it makes her happy…and it really is fun.
Hmmm… Kitty paybacks can be tough
Heh heh, you showed her. Projectile vomiting is good cos the peeps have lots to clean. I didn’t get any new toys either but got turkey so that made up for it.
Don’t feel too bad, no bunnies at our house this year, not even a card. Boo hoo. And Mom and Dad even worked outside in the garden, wow.
Well, guys, just so you don’t feel too bad, that silly EB totally bi-passed our house. Probably because I’d have chased it….
I hear nips are good for kittehs (mine don’t partake, thank you very much), so you all scored!! CJ looks like she needs a belly rub after all that nippin’.
Well it sounds like you had a nice nappy Easter Sunday even though the Bunny “stiffed” you in the toy department! At least all of it was nice and relaxing except for the projectile vomiting and no doubt Lily Olivia wasn’t too crazy about that part of her Easter either……hope all’s well this lovely April Fools Day Monday though!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
LOL – well you guys look like you are having quite an awesome little Easter pawty there. Even if you didn’t get any new Easter toys.
Hey, we didn’t get any new toys either! And we didn’t get any nip! We are so deprived!
Happy Easter!
A little whining and pouting might help!
Well at least there was nip involved! Happy Hoppy Easter dear friends!
Pretty normal day then!!! mol Happy Easter xox
Happy Easter.
My Mommeh says I have too many toys, too. Rats!
CJ is soooo cute! Happy Easter to the Blue fam!
I think your cats and mine must be related!
We bet if ALL of you had participated in a projectile vomiting contest, your Mom would have rushed off to the store for some new toys. MOL.
At least you guys had a nip fest! That’s a pretty good compromise.
Happy Easter, everyone!
Cody is the same, we try to donate toys to kitties in need a few times a year. He just gets too many toys!
Hope you are having a wonderful Easter!
Happy Easter! ~xo~
