Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
This post is one of my favorites each week. Poetry always has been my preferred writing format. Unfortunately, like with other forms of writing, not every poem is a masterpiece. Today I find what I have written to be predictable and uninspired.
This is the photo selected by Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) to serve as inspiration.
Dreams of Flying
I’ve always wondered what it would be like to fly
To soar among the clouds like an eagle
And feel the breeze blowing through my hair.
I wonder if this diver feels like he’s flying
For those several seconds before hitting the water.
Even if I could ask him and he said, “yes,”
I’d never be brave enough to make this leap.
I know I would squeeze my eyes tightly shut,
Which would not make for a smooth entry.
Best for me to keep my feet on solid ground
And let this man enjoy his solitary flight.

If you are not a writer of poetry, but would like to give it a try for next week, visit Two Spoiled Cats (by clicking on the badge above). There you will find the inspiration photo for next week’s poetry challenge. You also will have the opportunity to read Angel Sammy’s poem, which he transmits each week from the Rainbow Bridge. It is always a masterpiece. You also can find links to poems by other bloggers in the comments.

Thankful Thursday
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted each week by Brian. It offers us the opportunity to post for what we are thankful. Sawyer is six days seizure free. Unfortunately he does have a virus passed to him by Misty May. He sounds congested and has sneezing fits, but this is only temporary, so Dad Tom and I are not complaning.
We have a roof on the addition. It is not the final roof, which will be metal, but it is the wooden sheets to which the metal will be attached. Every itty bitty bit of progress is a cause for celebration.
Finally we are thankful and blessed for all our friends and followers. Pet bloggers are the best for all the care and thoughtfulness and support they provide.
If you’d like to be part of the Thankful Thursday blog hop, post for what you are thankful and then click on the badge below to be transported to Brian’s blog.
Excellent poem. Thanks for the link to the poetry site. I bneed lots of help in that area.
I really admire your way with words. You can make your poems flow so beautifully, and they are so profound. The only poems I have ever been able to manage are ones that rhyme. If I don’t make them rhyme, I get lost, which is clearly not a problem that you have. We are sending our purrs and prayers to Misty May, Sawyer, and all of you! I am so glad your renovations are underway, and I can imagine how excited you are for the final result. Warm wishes!
We’re glad Sawyer has been seizure free for six days ! Purrs
I agree, leave the high diving to that man.
I am glad Sawyer has not had another seizure, and I hope he and Misty May are soon feeling better.

I remember watching “Wide World of Sports” as a kid, and those cliff divers were a feature! imho, very scary! C’mon, Sawyer…keep up the good work! I am curious about your metal roof, since I’d like to replace our roof with metal someday, once I’ve convinced The Hubby that it will look great, and help with our icing problem.
Sorry that Sawyer is now sick too. I hope they both get well soon and no one else gets sick. Great on six days with no seizures too. Got my fingers and toes crossed.
I love your poem. That’s a great shot and I’d never do that either. Scary.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
We’re pretty sure Mom Janet should NOT try this!!!!!!
As always, we’re sending purrs and prayers to Sawyer and Misty Mae.
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie
We sure hope that bug quits bugging sweet Sawyer. Oh my, that flying looks pretty scary to me! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I’m in complete agreement with you on that flying leap dive! More power to him! LOL!
Celebrating Sawyer’s seizure-free days and praying he gets over the virus quickly — and Misty May.
Can’t wait to see pictures of your addition. That’s so exciting!
Every day Sawyer has without a seizure is a celebration…..and so is getting a temporary roof on the new construction! BUTTT that’s not all because we TOTALLY think your poem today is wonderful – it is a reflection of what your average person feels and thinks when standing on the edge of something new or something out of their comfort zone. We just love it!!! We always DO!
Hugs, Teddy and Mom
Hope ya feel better soon Sawyer.
And your poetry this week is the opposite of uninspired. 🙂
I am glad it is winter here so I don’t hav to even think about swimming, let alone diving off a cliff, MOL! Though…we do have a chapter of the polar bear club here which does a yearly swim in our locla lake. Not for me…Brrr!
I hope that virus that Saywer has will not become worse. And that Misty Mae also recovers well.
Six days is a good thing:)
Keep it up, saywer. We are pawyering for you!
