Have you missed us? We sure hope so! You can read about why we’ve been missing in the Thankful Thursday portion of his post. But before we get to that, here’s…
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Yummy
Strawberries, chocolate, bananas, ice cream,
A sundae to match a dessert junkie’s dream.
The taste would be something to savor,
With a delicious mix of fabulous flavors.
But being lactose intolerant could be a problem,
Making this yummy concoction not so awesome.
Maybe I’d be better to stick with a big piece of pie.
Either way the calories will go straight to my thighs.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday was created by our dear friend, Angel Sammy. Each week he gives us a photo to inspire us to write a poem and then transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to his brother Teddy. Sammy is a masterful poet, and we think you should never miss reading his poem. To do that and to find links in the Comments to poems by other bloggers, click on his badge.
Thankful Thursday
This has been a crazy week with more bad than good, but we still have a long list of thankfuls.
- Though Mom fell down the stairs and is pretty banged up, with bruises and pain, she managed to complete her 500th ride on the Peloton. Her goal had been to achieve that on her 70th birthday in March, but she beat that goal by nearly six weeks. Woot, woot, Mom!
- Sawyer had a seizure. It was one of his drooly, eye, ear and head twitchy ones, which are not nearly so severe and do subside on their own. And should he have another severe one, we now have valium here at home in suppository form should he need it. That gives Mom and Dad lots of peace of mind.
- We are having issues with WordPress and are unable to post photos, which is one of the reasons we haven’t posted in three days. However, with this being Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, Mom was able to copy and paste this week’s inspiration photo into our post, giving her another day to try to get this problem corrected.
- Cat Scouts Mau and Cooper Murphy presented a report, entitled “Beware the Strangler Fig,” at Cat Scouts University and both passed their Botany Exam—Mau with a 97% and Cooper Murphy with an 87%. Way to go, boys!
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by our friend, Brian. We like to join it each week as it gives us the opportunity to reflect on the good things in our lives and be grateful. To join in, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on the badge below to join the hop.
We’ve been rather AWOL, too of late…off & on.
That sounds like a terrible set of ouchies to acquire. Glad you managed to reach your goal, and ahead of time! Congrats!!
Sawyer, please stay well, we are pawyering hard for you and Pipo adds lots of loud purrs, too.
That big bowl of yummies looks too good to be true, MOL!
WoW! Your Mom is in WAY better shape than my Mom!
sure wish that she would get off her butt more than she does…I do try to chase her up the stairs though…
And Sawyer, you are in my purrayers every day!
Purrs

What a week! We’re glad your mom was well enough to get back on her bike! Sending purrs for Sawyer’s seizures to stop. We hope all of you remain healthy!
Paws up to your mom for not letting some bumps and bruises stopping her from reaching her goal. We hope she’s feeling better. And we’re sending lots of purrs to Sawyer…we hope his seizures become less and less frequent.
We are glad you’re back – and kinda glad the bad stuff wasn’t worse. Purrayers that things get better an that Mom heals up and Sawyer stays seizure-free.
What a week ! We’re sorry for your mom and for Sawyer. Concatulations to Mau and Cooper Murphy ! Purrs
Excellent poem. I am sorry your mom fell and Sawyer had a seizure. I hope both are doing better. My Sammy thought they did a great report at Scouts. XO
Falling down the stairs is a major ouchie! Been there, done that…and I still have hip issues due to it! Pretty sure that I broke a toe, but never sought a physician’s assistance with it. And I gain weight by just looking at a photo of fattening foods!
Oh no, mom fell down the stairs? Oh no. I’m glad it’s nothing worse than sore with bruises and pain. Breaking bones would have been far worse.
I’ve missed you, but I find that folks often disappear this time of year. Sometimes it’s the weather and no internet.
I love your poem. I laughed at the thighs. Happens to me too.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
guyz….sorree ta lurn yur mom took a tern….we hope herz on de mend bye now N stayz that way; ewe two sawyer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 🙂 ♥♥
We are glad you weren’t hurt badly in your fall. We have one step in our house. The style of the house was to have a sunken LR. Which the Mom wishes wasn’t like that, but it is the style of the house … but stairs can be dangerous. We are purring for Sawyer and pray he is seizure free one day.
We sure wish your addition would be finished so you wouldn’t have to deal with those stairs. Mom is happy that we live on one floor since, as you know, she had her own tumble a couple of weeks ago thanks to Noelle.
We’re sorry about Sawyer’s seizure but very thankful that it wasn’t worse AND that you now have the valium.
Love,
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie
Dang, I’m glad you’re okay and didn’t hurt anything during your fall. I’m glad that Sawyer only had a mild seizure but we’ll be purring for none at all. We’re thankful y’all are back, we’ve missed you too. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
It is good that you have something to be grateful for after that bad week. I’m glad your mom is at least relatively okay. I guess it could have been worse.
Thank goodness you’re okay. Stairs are not the best thing at our young age! It’s one reason we would love to find a single level with a basement. But they’re very few and far between around here! And so glad Sawyer didn’t have one of his really bad seizures. Wishing you and yours a better rest of the week and weekend!
Sounds like you have had a rough week, but I’m glad you can find some positives in it.
YES INDEED we all have missed you! Even knowing what all was going on at your house we still found ourselves “Kitties Blue-Deprived” and it wasn’t pretty! Hopefully your photo upload problem will be fixed soon so we can get our fixes of KB photo fun. Sorry about Sawyer’s seizure but glad it was not one of the big ones AND also glad you have meds for him so you can help him at home – more quickly than at the vet. Sending you all lots of hugs……WELCOME BAAAACK!
Love, Teddy (and Mom)
It does sound like a rough week there! I hope your mum is feeling better now, and well done to her on her 500th ride.
I am sorry Sawyer had another seizure but relieved it wasn’t a really bad one.
Congrats to Mau and Cooper Murphy on passing their Botany exam.
It’s been quite a week at your house! I’m glad everybody made it through in (relatively) one piece… although it looked touch and go for a while there!
