Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #32
We are joining this week’s Christmas-themed Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). The kitties asked me to complete all four fill-ins again this week, as they found them to be human-oriented. My completions are in teal italics.
1. My favorite Christmas Song(s) is/are “What Child is This,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” and “Mary, Did You Know.” but I could do without hearing _____________________ever again. I didn’t finish this fill-in as I really don’t have any Christmas songs I don’t like; though, I can get tired of some by the end of the season. (I have included videos of the three songs I listed, each by a different artist, at the conclusion of this post.)
2. My most meaningful Christmas ornament/decoration is now Fiona’s Star. The other is my Christmas stocking which my grandmother knit for me when I was an infant. It has my name and the year knitted into the pattern. The second part of this fill-in was “because.” I did not complete that as I think the reasons these are meaningful are self-evident.
As I didn’t decorate this year, I had to dig into the photo archives to find a photo of the mantel with our stockings. This photo is from 2012. My stocking is the longest one with the striped toe.
3. My favourite holiday treat is the Oreo truffles my friend makes.
This is a blog hop. To join, click on the link to Annie’s blog in the first paragraph.
We’ll see you tomorrow for Athena’s Caturday Art blog hop, featuring Giulietta.
Well done! I am so sorry I am late (struggling a bit). I love your answers. I had to laugh at the wine-fueled Christmas letter. I no longer do either, but that is the way to do it! *wink*
Lots of warm holiday hugs, my dear friend.
Loved your fill-in answers! Fiona is a star shining brightly in the sky.
What a great decor of Teddy’s and stockings!
Your stocking is a wonderfur heirloom to treasure always:)
Your stockings are beautiful. We love that Fiona has her star now. Purrs
Those stockings and teddy bears are beautiful. 🙂
Have fun with your letter writing this weekend.
I’ve never had an Oreo truffle before, but anything with Oreos is bound to be absolutely yummy!
Have a blessed weekend and a Merry Christmas. You’re in my prayers.
Fiona’s Star is beautiful. We hope your letter-writing goes well this weekend. Relax in peace, and be good to yourselves. Hugs.
I’ve been listening to Pentatonix and Home Free Christmas music on YouTube the past few weeks. I like Josh Groban – I’ll have to check out his holiday music.
Those are very special Christmas items. Hope you enjoy your wine while writing your letter! Maybe we should try the wine next time – it’d make it a whole lot more fun!
A stocking knitted by your grandma is a great ornament. Have a wonderful weekend and a Merry Christmas.
We didn’t do much decorating this year either.
My favorite Christmas song has changed so many times over the years – but in light of all the losses and sorrow (an I am having my 7 year old Elkhound Trygvie helped over the Bridge tomorrow because he has terminal cancer) I would like to recommend Judy Collins’ version of “The Cherry Tree Carol.”
Great songs, we like those too. We just luv Christmas. Hope you have fun. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Great responses. We love your mantel. Not a spare space to be found! One of the mom’s favorite Christmas songs is O Holy Night.
The Fiona Star is wonderful and very special.
Good morning all of you precious babies! Smoochies to you.
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I love your answers. Great song choices. I love Fiona’s star and the one you got for Pam too. If you lived closer, I would give you lots of wine that my husband made- grape, elderberry, pear, strawberry, pumpkin. XO
Well you know how we feel about Fiona’s Star AND Sammy’s Star – very special. We also just LOVE the decorated mantle and hope that next year you will bring back all your family traditions – we “made” ourselves do those this year even though our hearts weren’t QUITE in it! Your fill-ins are terrific…..those special tree ornaments are always fun to unpack and hang on the tree. Sending you holiday hugs……!
Love, Pam
I love that Fiona has her own star now.
