So, it has been raining for most of the day here in Southwestern Virginia. Hence, most of the kitties have been inside; though, some brave souls have ventured out to the front porch or the catio.
A day when most of the cats are hanging around inside is not a good day for making catnip toys. I need some, however, to include with our blogoversary prizes for Cathy Keisha (Stunning Keisha) and Banjo (Corner of a Cat’s Mind).
Astrid and Lisbeth soon took it upon themselves to become the self-appointed snoopervisors. However, before I knew it, they were both lying down on the job. I am not sure if it was from residual nip fumes in the container, boredom or just the need for a nap, but they were of little help, even in a snoopervising capacity.
In their defense, I must admit that I was not to the nip-filling point in the process as yet. So they were right in realizing that they should store up some energy for when they were called into action for that stage.
That’s supposed to happen today but may be put off until tomorrow with the hope that I can shoo them outside while I do it. Whenever nip toys are made, they demand that one should be
made for them. Their toy basket is already overflowing with nip pillows and a variety of nip critters as well as a sundry of other items. But it doesn’t matter how old the nip toys get, they still drag them out and play.
They did get a new toy for our blogoversary, which we’ll tell you about in a future post. With that in mind, I am hoping I can eliminate the need to make them another catnip pillow.
We have fresh catnip in the garden but if it is in the house as well we make the most of it :-). Cats have a need you know lol

The woman here has put a lot of thought into ma\king cat nip toys for us. But she never does as she’s just too lazy.
Our mom isn’t the making toy type – especially if it involves needles and thread. We couldn’t leave a comment wishing you a Happy Blogversary. Concats on your accomplishment! We hope this comment will go through. We tried 4 or 5 times the other day. Here’s to better luck!
Hehehe… Every year my peep #1 does a little elfin’ work for Santa and that includes the stuffin’ of the nip mice and biff bags. When stuffin’, she locks herself in the livin’ room and we cats hover ’round those doors waitin’ and hopin’ someone will come along and open them. Never happens, though… Hmmm… MOUSES!
Purrs,
Nissy

Nip? Did someone say nip? Good grief! You guys live in a nip den? I’ll be right over ….
Send some rain our way! We need it, and maybe our lazy Mommy would make us some nip toys!
We think the problem is that watching someone work is just so very exhausting that you need to take another nap!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
how lucky that your kitties have a momma who makes HOME MADE NIP TOYS! They live in kitty paradise for sure!
Home made NipFests are the best, best, best!
Have fun making the nippy toys. We hope you get some sun soon.
Have a serene Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
There can NEVER be enough nip toys. NEVER! You kitties are so lucky you have your very own Nip Toy maker. MOL.
I can’t imagine cat nip day at your house!! that must be a hoot!!
I’ve not had good luck in growing cat nip, inside or out. What’s your secret??
Wow–your Mom makes NIP TOYS???? My Human doesn’t make ANYTHING worth having as far as I am concerned. Nuthin’.
HOMEMADE NIP TOYS!!!! OMC!! I’m drooling! Bet they’re so fun! BTW, you got a mention in today (Caturday’s) blog.
Thanks so much C.K. We don’t know anything about poetry, and Mom says she is not giving critiques. Says she doesn’t want to get in any trouble with anybody. We’re all sending mountains of hugs and thanks for the shout-out. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
The Cherry City Kitties are right… there’s never enough nip! We can’t wait to see the new toy you got for your blogaversary.
You have been getting loads of rain! Happy blogiversary! We must be celebrating together,
Rainy days and nip…a nice combination. But then again, we think nip goes with everything!
If my human wanted to make catnip toys, she would have to lock Binga up somewhere! That is the only way it would be possible.
you can never ever get enough nip… and we even get Tipp’s share because he doesn’t even like it… and there’s still never enough!
A lovely rainy day – lazy day really at least for us in Northern Virginia! Glad we got some rain really….and it managed to hold off until after I’d mowed the lawn! Sam loves his pillows from you – and I’m sure your crew is happy to have a Mom who sews such wonderful things……I’m just barely able to sew buttons on when they fall off!!!!
Hugs, Pam
