National Pi Day

Where's my pie.

Sorry, Mau! It’s National Pi (π) Day not National Pie Day. That was on January 23. You missed it. And on top of that you filled up on cake yesterday at the Cat Scouts Minion-themed, March Birthday Party.

As a consolation prize, you can share your photo in your Minion costume.

Minion Mau on Pi (Pie) Day

pi dayThat’s much better than filling your tummy with tuna pie, as I am certain you made some of our readers smile. And if you really want pie, you can make your own in your Bake Shop at Cat Scouts. I’m sure all your Scout friends would appreciate that.

Please don’t tell Mau, but I think the possibility exists that his dad and I will have pie, as we too missed the official National Pie Day. I LOVE pie, and we have this great shop close by called Piety.

Whichever you decide to celebrate today, Pi Day or Pie Day, have a good one. And if it’s the latter, please save a piece for me!

As March 14 is National Pi(e) Day, I decided to create a little tongue pie-in-cheek art which I have entitled, Mauricio Ala Mode.

I am not going to try to explain how I created this week’s submission to Athena and Marie’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. I used a combination of piZap and Picasa and played around with various backgrounds, overlays and frames after cutting out Mauricio and the pecan pie and adding some ice cream (ala mode) to his head. I selected Mauricio to be the nut in this pie as he’s the “nuttiest” cat in the house.

Thank You

I’d like to thank everyone for the kind birthday wishes on yesterday’s post. I am sending a special thank you to Nellie for her exceptional singing. Getting older doesn’t bother me in the least; though, the excitement of my youth has waned with the increasing years. And I find it a bit odd to write a birthday post to myself even if the kitties do sign their names. The cards gave me such good laughs this year, however, I felt compelled to share them.

Sunday Selfies

So tomorrow is Sunday, and you know what that means…time for selfies! We had planned to share selfies of two local kitties looking for their forever homes. However, thanks to Dad Tom’s adorable photos of them taken and posted on Wednesday, they already have been adopted. The exact same thing happened last week.

I don’t know yet which of the kitties I will be trying to coerce into snapping a few photos for tomorrow. Whoever it is, I hope lots and lots of our old friends and maybe some new ones will join that lucky participant. Please spread the word among your followers.

Don’t forget to have an extra large slice of your favorite pie(s) today.
