Hug Your Cat Day

SUNDAY SELFIE GUEST HOST

Sunday Selfies: Week #407

I was fortunate that I neither had to bribe nor coerce any of the Kitties Blue to take a selfie for today’s hop. I actually had a volunteer. And here is your host for today.

Sunday Selfie guest host: dove sitting on it's nest

This dove and it’s companion have built and taken up residence in this nest above the curtains on our front porch. They are incubating one egg. Once it hatches, the baby bird will remain in the nest for about two weeks. If I am lucky, maybe the baby will want to share a selfie before it flies away.

I cannot express how delighted Kitties Blue were to be off the hook this week; though, they offer their apologies to Da Tabbies O Trout Towne.

Hug Your Cat Day

I am quite ashamed that I missed this special day yesterday. But in my defense, Kitties Blue hate hugs just about as much as they hate taking selfies. In way of apology for missing the opportunity to share some photos of Dad Tom and me hugging a couple of the felines, here’s the link to last year’s post, “Have You Hugged Your Cat Today?” Hope you all did give and get some hugs from your furballs yesterday.

Hopping Time

It’s time for you to snap and post your selfie, or purrhaps you too have a stand-in this week. Whatever the case, we are all waiting in anticipation to see the photo. If you are unable to participate today, it’s not a problem. The hop will remain open through Thursday.

As always, thank you so much for following and supporting us, but most of all thanks for being our friends.

Have a easy Sunday!

HAVE YOU HUGGED YOUR CAT TODAY?

Feline/Friendship Friday

June 4 is Hug Your Cat Day, sometimes referred to as National Hug Your Cat Day. It’s an unofficial holiday offering cat parents/caregivers the purrfect opportunity to express a little extra love to their furry companions.

None of Kitties Blue are particularly fond of hugs, but Dad Tom and I each scored one.

Hug Your Cat Day

Tom and Cooper Murphy’s hug is a bit more of a hold, but that’s what happens when your cat weighs in at 19+ pounds.

I got my hug from Calista Jo, which was a bit more traditional; though, I had to keep a firm hold on her.

Cooper and Calista are joining both the Comedy Plus Feline Friday and the Create With Joy Friendship Friday blog hops. If you’d like to do the same, click on the appropriate badge(s).

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #262

Friday again, which means it is time for those fill-ins hosted by Ellen from 15 And Meowing and Lorianne from Four-Legged Furballs. Sawyer stepped up again to help me with fill-ins this week. Both my fill-ins and his are in teal italics.

1. Our former President creeps me out.

2. I could use a refresher class in time management.

3. Sawyer: Life would be much simpler if I didn’t have seizures.

4. I would like to go on a vacation, but first I have to find someone to care for Sawyer 24/7.

Friendly Fill-ins is a blog hop. You can find the sentences to be filled in on Ellen and Lorianne’s blogs on Thursdays. Click on their badge to join the hop.

We’ll be back again tomorrow for Caturday Art.

BELATED HUG YOUR CAT DAY & FILL-INS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #211

Our hosts, Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs) and Ellen (15 And Meowing) provided some interesting sentences to be filled in this week. In fact, Kitties Blue asked if they could help. I already had completed all the sentences when the request was made, so I allowed them to pick which sentences they wanted to fill-in and included their responses as well.

My fill-ins are in teal italics, and theirs are appropriately in blue.

1. Getting cats to do what you want is like trying to nail jello to a wall.

1. Kitties Blue: Getting humans to do what you want is like trying to nail jello to a wall.

2. I’ll never stop worrying about Sawyer.

2. Sawyer: I’ll never tire of asking for and eating as many treats as I can convince our humans to give me.

3. If I had a dollar for every time our President made a fool of himself, I would be rich.

4. I wish common sense grew on trees.

4. Sawyer: I wish Temptations grew on tress.

Friendly Fill-Ins is a fun way to learn more about other bloggers and their four-legged (in most cases) friends. If you would like to participate, the sentences to be filled in can be found on both Ellen and Lorianne’s blogs on Thursday. After completing and posting, you can click on the badge above to go to Ellen’s blog and enter the link to your post.

Feline Friday – Hug Your Cat Day

Yeah, we all know we’re a day late for Hug Your Cat Day, but the braindead member of this group forgot yesterday. So, we thought including it as our entry in the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus would be a great idea. To clarify, most of us are not fond of hugs. However, Misty May continually craves and begs for attention from her dad, and she thinks hugs are just fine.

HUG YOUR CAT DAY

Sparks

Monday is normally the day to post Sparks. As I had a product review yesterday, I saved the Spark to share today—Hug Your Cat Day!

Not all cats enjoy being hugged. I suggest you approach your cat with caution the first time you try a hug. Some of Kitties Blue I would never try to hug. They would totally freak out, and I would be sporting some bloody wounds.

At least one of Kitties Blue is not opposed to getting hugs. Can you guess who?

Did you guess Mau?

Today’s Spark may refer to people, but I think it is just as appropriate for kitties.

If you are not a fan of the comics, you may not be familiar with the author of today’s quote. William Aloysius Keane (Bil Keane) was an American cartoonist who passed away in 2011. He was best down for his work on the newspaper comic, The Family Circus. It began in 1960 and continues in syndication. It is now drawn by his son, Jeff Keane.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie has been taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Unfortunately, during this break, Annie has been the victim of a hacker. This has continued to keep her off-line and caused her much distress. Please continue to send prayers to Annie and her family as they work to get their lives back to normal.

Many of us believe in Annie’s vision: “If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”
