Easy Like Sunday

LEAPING LIZARD, WHO IS THIS DUDE?

Have you been wondering all week who would host this week’s Sunday Selfies? It was a tough decision as to who was going to get this honor as we have a backlog of volunteers.

In the end, Lizzie got a paws up from all of us.

lizards

Mom says that it was super difficult to decide which lizard to feature. They are one of her favorite critters from Tortola. She thinks they are super cute, and she and dad always take lots of lizard photos. For a very long time, the wallpaper on her desktop computer was a Tortola lizard.

None of us have ever seen a lizard. We don’t have any in our yard. Mom says she and dad see them occasionally when they are riding the tandem. We know some of you see lizards all the time, have caught them and even tasted them. Do they taste like chick-hen?

Cat4-001Anyway…We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s selfies this week. And we promise to visit each of your blogs, even if it takes us all week. We are so appreciative of those who participate in and promote our blog hop. You are the best friends Kitties Blue could ever hope to have!

We encourage you to get the link below and post the hop on your blog. We only ask that you include a link to The Cat on My Hand and/or display our badge.

Have a terrific Easy Sunday.

p.s. If you are curious as to the actual size of Lizzie, that is a corn nut in the photo with him/her.

SELF-PROCLAIMED KING OF THE SELFIES

Being the only male cat in the family and being the host of Sunday Selfies, I thought it appropriate I be named King of the Selfies. I asked for a crown, but Mom told me that was self-indulgent and would be rude to our guests. Whatever!

Here’s my photo.

king

I had to fiddle with it as I got my face right up in the camera and, as you can see, it is blurry. I decided some enhancements were in order to bring out my true handsomeness. I am having to deal with some trash talking from Giulietta and Fiona, who claim Clooney is way more handsome than I am. Astrid has also been giving me lip as she claims that Sampy is the handsomest! There also have been some rumblings from Lisbeth about Charles and Misty May about Spitty.

I have told all my fursibs they can claim anything they like when it is their turn to host. But for today, I proclaim myself King of the Selfies and the Handsomest Cat on The Planet. Deal with it!

Even if you think I am conceited, please join me with your special selfie and proclaim yourself to be King or Queen of your own blog. Then curl up and enjoy an Easy Sunday. You deserve it.

As always, if you have difficulty adding your link, let us know in a Comment, and Mom will enter it for you. Also, if you’d like to display the hop on your blog, purrlease display our badge and/or link back to The Cat on My Head. Thanks!

FIONA’S FABULICIOUS SUNDAY SELFIES

Fiona
Fiona

I’m a lovely grey-furred beauty.
Of that there is no doubt.
Mom used my “good” selfies,
Which makes me dance and shout!
But whether yours are good or bad,
Please show us what you’ve got.
You can enjoy your easy Sunday
After you’ve joined our blog hop!
I hope Clooney thinks I’m pretty
And leaves a comment saying that.
‘Cause I think he’s super handsome,
I’m sending him kisses and a paw-pat.

So this is it…the day you look forward to every week. The day when you get to join Kitties Blue for our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. Your continued support and participation makes our kitty hearts feel all warm and happy. Thank you.

We just have a couple of requests: 1) Please try to visit some of the participants’ blogs. 2) If you decide to use the code below so the entries will post to your blog, please link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge.

If you have trouble entering your link, leave Mom a comment and she will do it for you.

And, just as a reminder, Kitties Blue are not readily available to visit and leave comments for all our friends at this time. Please do not think we are ignoring you. We promise to be back soon.

ASTRID’S PACKING PAPER SELFIES

I have reported often that Astrid is our bag lady as well as shared many photos of her curled up in a variety of these receptacles. She discovered some brown packing paper on the kitchen counter and immediately burrowed into it. It was apparent she found it every bit as satisfying as any bag. While snuggled in she decided to take some selfies to share with you today.

To Astrid’s disappointment, her paper habitation was short-lived. As soon as she completed snapping her selfies, she began shredding the paper into confetti and depositing it on the floor. Being the “mean” mommy, I removed her from her newly-acquired, paper abode and transported it to the recycling bin.

She was less than pleased but, to my great relieve, said that she still loves me! She then returned to her rightful place in my lap.

This is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. We look forward to seeing your submissions. As a reminder, if you have animals in search of forever homes, this is a great way to showcase them.

If you’d like to display the submissions on your blog, the code is below. I only ask that you link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge.

Stay warm and have an Easy Sunday.

p.s. Astrid is sending her boyfriend Sampy kisses for every Sunday that has passed since the beginning of time.

DUAL SELFIE AKA SISTER GROUPIE

Giulietta and Fiona teamed up today to submit a “groupie” for our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. They took it while enjoying an easy Sunday on the new bed they received for Christmas. Giulietta was less than thrilled about being awakened by Fiona, thus the grumpy look and squinty, laser eyes.

groupie

We look forward to seeing what you have to offer this week. Our goal is to beat the number of submissions from the past two weeks, which both topped out at 47.

Feel free to grab the code and display the entries on your blog, but please link back to us and/or post our badge. Thanks from the bottom of our furry little hearts. Have a snuggly and Easy Sunday.

LISBETH’S ROMANTIC CHRISTMAS GIFT

Sunday Selfies Blog Hop

Mom has been following me around the house the last couple of days begging me to take some selfies for today. Why? She wanted me to show off my gorgeous Christmas gift from my boyfriend, Cat Scout Charles. I got some selfies taken, but I wasn’t doing a good job of getting the right angle to let you see my gift. So Mom had to take the photo that shows it.

Lis and Chas Sunday Selfies GIFT

In the large photo on the left, I am showing off my lovely, purple, crocheted flower Christmas gift. Sampy’s (Kitty Cat Chronicles) mommy, Emily, made one for each of us girls. The lower right photo is a traditional selfie. In the upper right photo I am showing off the beautiful charm Charles sent me for Christmas. As you can see it has his portrait on it. I am wearing it on my collar, which keeps Charles close to my heart.

Charles is the most romantic, thoughtful and generous boyfriend as well as super handsome, as you can see. I am a very lucky girl to have him in my life! And what makes it even better: My humans really like him too!

This is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. I am hoping you will join me. If you would like to grab the code below and include the hop on your blog, purrlease link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge. Thanks very much. And have an Easy Sunday!

Purrs and paw-pats, Lisbeth

MISTY MAY PLAYS POSSUM ON EASY SUNDAY

Misty May, Mauricio and Lily Olivia have outside privileges during the day. They are not required to stay on the Catio like the younger cats. Prior to being allowed outside unsupervised, they underwent many months of training. And they wear collars with I.D. at all times. Both Mauricio and Lily Olivia spend most of their days on the front porch. Lily Olivia’s favorite place is the settee. Mauricio prefers any of the three rockers.

Misty May on the other hand spends her days roaming from one napping spot to another. She likes to snooze under bushes, on the pool cover, on top of or under the car, but especially in the driveway. There she can be in the shade, lounge in a sun puddle or take advantage of both at the same time. And best of all, from there she can watch all our comings and goings.

Misty May playing possumIn this photo Misty May is trying to distract us with her pristine white tummy and adorable, jelly bean toes. It is her attempt to convince us that she is having some shut eye while stretched out in what we refer to as summer position. But it is all a ploy. She is playing possum. She is totally alert to our every movement and just waiting for the basement door to open.

You may not believe it, but she can spring from this position in the blink of an eye and dart into the basement where she can lose herself for hours and hours!

No matter how vigilant and quick we are to try to stop her, like a flash she has disappeared. If we are taking the bike out for a ride, and she won’t come out, she can remain trapped for up to four hours. Sometimes by the time we return home, we have forgotten she is there. If Misty May doesn’t bolt out the moment the door is opened, I know just where to look if she doesn’t show up for dinner.

Sometimes I wonder what she finds to do for all those hours, but I suspect, just like the rest of you kitties, she has found a place to nap and enjoy an Easy Sunday. Wherever you are spending your Sunday, we wish you an Easy one as well.

I am sorry I did not get things set up to begin the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop this week. I will do my best to have it up and running for next Sunday.

Mauricio requests that you please stop by for Man-Cat Monday and Tuxie Tuesday. He will be using both days to post about his latest Cat Scout adventure and will have both a new story and poem to share with you.

Finally, please accept the Kitties Blue and my apologies for not visiting and commenting as much this past week. I was out of the house three days with appointments and spent much of my computer time helping Mauricio get ready for his outing. All of us promise to do better this next week.

BAD SUNDAY SELFIE TURNS EASY

bad sunday selfie MauSo, Mom wanted me to do a Sunday Selfie today to show y’all my fat lip. I was having none of it. I refused to show myself not looking my best. Just before she clicked the shutter for me, I turned my head. Not only did I ruin the selfie, but I made the photo turn out blurry as well. Double win! I was pretty certain she wouldn’t post that crummy photo, but here it is. She is totally untrustworthy!

Mom has noticed a few other blogs now doing Sunday Selfies. She’s had a suggestion to make it a blog hop, which she had already been considering. She’s in the process of trying to figure out how to do it using Linky Tools. If anybody can help her with step-by-step instructions, we’ll ask her to send you some prezzies. So, next Sunday we hope to start a Sunday Selfie Blog Hop. If that is going to happen, she promises to let y’all know ahead of time so you can pawticipate should you choose.

As far as today goes, I told Mom if she wanted to feature me, I would only do it spending an Easy Sunday! How’d I do?

EASY LIKE SUNDAY: NEW KITTY QUILT

Our New Kitty Quilt

Our mom won a 2014 BlogPaws Conference commerative quilt in the auction for Katnip Lounge‘s The Baby. These quilts are handmade by Ms. Stella O’Houligan’s (on a more personal note) Mom Stacy and are imbedded with catnip. And they are made for cats…not humans! But as reported to y’all in our post, Monday Meowings: Prezzies, our thoughtless and selfish mom decided she was keeping it for herself as a memento of the event.

Thanks to the comments of our faithful readers, however, who chastised her for depriving us, she felt guilty enough to order us our very own quilt. She chose some Laurel Burch kitty fabric for the center and Mom Stacy took it from there.

It arrived a couple of days ago, and Astrid almost ripped the package open all my herself. As soon as the quilt was exposed, Astrid claimed it…rolling and rubbing herself all over it!

astrid quilt 3-001

Stacy was so kind and made the quilt extra-large for us. Two or three of us could snooze on it together. Yeah right, that’s never going to happen! Once Astrid finished having her way with it, Mom folded it and draped it over the antique, dough bowl Astrid and Lily take turns using for naps. In fact, at this point, only Astrid and Lily Olivia have enjoyed its nippy goodness. The remainder of us are waiting for it to be relocated to a spot we all like to use.

If you don’t have one of these niplicious quilts, visit Mom Stacy’s Etsy Shop.

LISBETH HAS AN EASY SUNDAY

Lisbeth Easy Sunday

Lisbeth loves to sleep in this spot on our bed whether just for a nap or for the entire night. I assume she thinks we can’t see her as her tuxie furs blend purrfectly with the Panda-design pillow. And, of course, it is just the right size for a kitty. If you look closely to the left of Lisbeth, you will see Lily Olivia snuggled next to her. Lisbeth is the only cat Lily will sleep near. You also can see them together in the post, “Conjoined Twins?

Sorry this second photo is a little on the fuzzy side.

Hope all our furiends are having a great Easy Sunday.

Please join us tomorrow for “Monday Meowsings” where I will have a recap of Calista Jo’s birthday celebration.
