Doozy of a Snoozy
COLORFUL KIZMET
Caturday Art
Kizmet is the subject of today’s art. She is napping on the back of Dad Tom’s chair in front of the bedroom window. It’s one of her favorite spots, especially when the sun is shining. Her dad is not in the chair. She’s happy whether he is there or not.
The effect is Village Sketch from Painnt. I tinkered with just about everything, including the colors, contrast and saturation. The frame is again from the favpng app, and I tinkered with that has well. The upper right corner had two hearts that didn’t look right with the geometric lines in the photo. I cut off what I could and then added the hot pink “bursts” with piZap.
I created a puzzle as well. Most of you should be able to complete it very quickly. It always takes me longer, as my hands go numb while I am moving the pieces around.
This is Kizmet’s entry in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. By clicking on the badge below, you can pop over there to see Athena’s art and check out the submissions from other bloggers.
Sunday Selfies Reminder
Tomorrow’s the day when you put on your best smile and join us for our blog hop. There’s a lot to smile about as we will be springing forward into Day Light Saving time.
Your host is as yet undetermined. No surprise there!
We also will be remembering beautiful and sweet Dolly from Brian’s Home. She was a frequent hopper along with her fursibs. This past Monday she suddenly and unexpectedly received her angel wings.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. If you are in the path of the upcoming storm, please stay safe.
ONE-EARED SNOOZING SELFIE
Sunday Selfies: Week #391
My fursibs have been getting away with posting snoozing selfies, so I decided I could do the same.
I also managed to have my right ear folded over and tucked under my head. I’m not totally asleep. After all I needed to be able to see the iPad and snap my selfie.
I am really hoping my girlfriend Tyebe will like this. I sent her a snail mail Valentine, but mail to Canada arriving on time is always an iffy proposition. So for the moment, this is my special Valentine photo for her.
Now It’s Your Turn
I’ve shared my selfie, so now it’s your turn to do the same. Your friends as well as all the Kitties Blue are looking forward to seeing you. If you cannot join us today, you don’t need to worry. Our hop is always open through Thursday. That gives you every opportunity to enter as well as time to contact your friends and invite them to do the same. More cats are always better! Of course, all animals are welcome regardless of species.
A Special Announcement
For those of you who follow Periwinkle and Stinky, they will be here tomorrow instead of Tuesday to share their adventure. I think it might have something to do with Valentine’s Day; though, I have no idea what Stinky is planning, You can count on it being fun. If you have never read any of “The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky,” I recommend you check them out. The adventures alternate between here and Friends Furever.
Thanks for joining us today, following and supporting us and being our friends.
Purrs and paw-pats, Cooper Murphy (with Valentine wishes and whisker kisses for Tyebe)
STAY AWAY FROM MY TOES
Feline/Friendship Friday
Sawyer gets the honor of joining these two blog hops this week.
I suspect you’re wondering if Kitties Blue do anything other than nap. They do occasionally, but it’s easier to get a photo when they’re immobile. Sawyer will accept a kiss on his head, but his toes are off limits. Touching or smooching those is a no-no unless you want to lose an eye!
Feline Friday is hosted by Comedy Plus and Friendship Friday is hosted by Create With Joy. To join either or both hops, click on the appropriate link(s).
Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #298
I must begin Fill-Ins by thanking Stinky and Sawyer for helping me out again this week in completing them. Our fill-ins are in teal italics. Any explanatory info is in parentheses.
1. A week without worrying about COVID would be nice. (Dad Tom has now been exposed twice that we know of. He will test again tomorrow to see if he is positive from the second exposure. Paws crossed he is negative again.)
2. STINKY: A week without an adventure with Periwinkle would be impossible.
3. I didn’t plan to start writing a cat blog, but I’m glad I did.
4. SAWYER: I once went on a walkabout and lived to regret it. (But at least I lived!)
Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each Thursday they provide the four sentences with blanks for your responses. To participate, click on the Fill-Ins badge.
YOUNGSTERS TAKEOVER COOPER’S NEW BLANKET
Feline/Friendship Friday
Cooper Murphy’s beautiful girlfriend, Canadian Cat Tyebe, sent him this marshmallowy soft blanket/bed. Unfortunately for Cooper, all his fursibs are beating him to it when nap time rolls around. Yesterday the youngsters, Kizmet and Sawyer, took over. They are small enough to fit together on the blanket. Kizmet used Sawyer’s butt for a pillow.
I was delighted when they woke up for photo number two.
Kizmet and Sawyer are joining both Comedy Plus‘ Feline Friday and Create With Joy‘s Friendship Friday blog hops. You can do the same by clicking on the links in the previous sentence.
Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #297
Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They provide the four sentences with blanks for your responses. Often I have difficulty completing the fill-ins and need to ask for a little help from Kitties Blue, which I did this week for Fill-In #4. Kitties Blue and I used teal italics to fill in. Any explanatory info is in parentheses.
1. I feel exhausted but good about myself when I complete a Peloton workout.
2. I wish I could erase 60-plus years of song lyrics (except my favorites) from my memory to free up some space.
3. Others probably find it annoying that I tend to repeat myself a lot when I am having a conversation with them.
4. Kitties Blue: Cat treats without calories really needs to be invented. (That way our humans will give us as many as we want.)
If you would like to participate, both Ellen and Lorianne post the sentences to be filled in each Thursday on their blogs. To join the hop on Friday, click on the Fill-Ins badge.
Apologies
We missed posting yesterday for which Kitties Blue and I apologize. Just as I was writing my poem for Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, Sawyer had a seizure. I just never got back to it. So, tomorrow I will include my poem along with our Caturday Art. We hope to see you back here again tomorrow.
SUNPUDDLE SNOOZING SUNDAY SELFIE
Sunday Selfies: Week #389
Did you all know that I have the ability to take a selfie even while I’m snoozing? Pretty neat trick, don’t you think? I know others of you have done this as well. We cats are multi-talented!
It was another cold day and several of us were napping on the bed in the sunpuddles—again. I must confess, no matter the temperature or amount of sun, this is where I spend most of my time. I am a first-rate napper. And I’ve got a little something extra for you today—my lovely paw.
That’s it from me.
Hopping Time
So, you all know the drill. I’ve showed you my selfie, so it is time for you to share yours with us and your other friends. And there’s no problem if you don’t post today. You can join the hop anytime through Thursday. I’ll be here waiting for you. If you’d like to invite some friends along, that would be super.
Remembering Pete
Tomorrow, everyone’s good friend, Pete Cusack, will be celebrating his birthday in heaven with many of his beloved felines. Pete passed away in November to the shock of all of us. To honor Pete on his birthday, we will be posting a link to one of our favorite Tom Cat Commentary by Timmy posts. We hope you will join us in remembering Pete by participating.
Thanks for coming today and participating in our hop. We appreciate all of you for your support and friendship.

SUNPUDDLE SNOOZERS
Feline/Friendship Friday
In the winter on the few days when we get sun, the best place to hang out is on Mom and Dad’s bed. Consequently, it is often crowded with as many as five of us.
Sawyer and Calista Jo not only found a sunpuddle but a comfy spot on our Mau pillow. For some reason Sawyer likes to snuggle with C.J. She doesn’t like it! If he tries it while she is awake, she will hiss and growl at him. She was already asleep when he plopped down almost on top of her.
The sunpuddle snoozers are joining both Comedy Plus‘ Feline Friday and Create With Joy‘s Friendship Friday blog hops. You can do the same by clicking on the links in the previous sentence.
Purrs & paw-pats, Kitties Blue
Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #296
Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They provide the four sentences with blanks for your responses. Often I have difficulty completing the fill-ins and need to ask for a little help from Kitties Blue. This week, however, I completed all four sentences without any help. I used teal italics to fill in.
1. I get my exercise from riding Peloton.
2. It’s a good thing I don’t mind staying at home with Kitties Blue most of the time, as that is what has been required the last two years due to COVID.
3. Dealing with Sawyer’s seizures when he first started having them required me to muster a lot of courage.
4. My younger self would be proud to know that I now am not shy and lacking in self-confidence.
If you would like to participate, both Ellen and Lorianne post the sentences to be filled in each Thursday on their blogs. To join the hop on Friday, click on the Fill-Ins badge.
That’s it for today. We’ll be back. tomorrow with some Caturday Art.
KITTIES BLUE CUDDLING
Feline/Friendship Friday
Our Kitties Blue youngsters are cuddling again. I expect we’ll continue to see more of this as winter continues.
They’re also participating in the Feline Friday and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy, respectively.
Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #295
Sawyer and I shared fill-in duty this week. I’m always thankful for his help. We both used teal italics for our fill-ins. Additional information is in parentheses.
1. Sawyer: My girlfriend Noelle’s purr is music to my ears.
2. My favorite kind of soup is Dad Tom’s with chicken, vegetables and beans.
3. Sawyer: If I were going to migrate or hibernate for the winter, I would go to Florida and stay with my girlfriend Noelle. (Mom would go to Tortola, BVI.)
4. I would start a sanctuary for unadoptable cats if I had the property and money.
Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They provide the four sentences with blanks for your responses. You can find those on their blogs on Thursdays. To join the hop, click on the fill-ins badge.
We’ll be back tomorrow with some Caturday Art.
POST-SEIZURE SELFIES
Sunday Selfies: Week #387
I wanted to call this post, “My Mom Sucks!” You see, I didn’t actually take these selfies. My mom took them yesterday without my knowledge, which I think is an invasion of my privacy.
I cannot tell you anything about my photos as I was totally out, even in the photo with my eyes partially open. And I never remember what’s happened afterwards. So, I am now turning this over to all of you to link up your selfie. Please don’t let me down.
Even though I am mad at Mom, she says I need to thank you for coming by and supporting us and being our friends. That means everything to us and is what keeps us doing this hop and our other posts. So, “Thank you, dear friends.”
Purrs and paw-pats, Sawyer
