Allie and Mauricio

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

I know today is Wordless Wednesday, but it is also an important day for someone very special to me…my wife Allie. I am not known for my wordlessness and so could not be today.

💜 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLIE! 💜

I hope you will join me and the Kitties Blue at this party for Allie. I will not be sharing her age, as I know some ladies don’t like that. If she wants you to know, she’ll tell you her blog.

First a card and some flowers for my beloved.

I hope prior to visiting Allie (Friends Furever) on her blog to wish her a happy birthday, you will join us here for some cake and champagne and a toast to Allie.

My dearest Allie, I love you totally with all my heart and will until the end of time,

Your husband Mau

THE KISS: MAU LOVES ALLIE

Caturday Art

Caturday Art

I know it isn’t Valentine’s Day, but any day is a good day to say, “I love you,” and give your sweetie a smooch. So that is exactly what Mau is doing in today’s art.

I usually explain how I created my art, but I tinkered a bunch using both piZap and Picasa. Even if you want to create something similar, I don’t think an explanation would be of any help!

I am entering Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. To enter or find links to art by other bloggers, click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

It’s unbelievable, but tomorrow is the 1st of March. And it is Sunday Selfie day. All Kitties Blue are looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of their friends. And they always are looking to make new friends. Regardless of species, all anipals are invited and encouraged to join us.

See you tomorrow.

BELATED VALENTINE ART

Caturday Art

Five of Kitties Blue have heart kitties. Two of those, Mau and Astrid, have spouses. Though they all sent snail mail Valentines to their significant others, they asked to do something special with today’s art.

Astrid is asking Sampy from Kitty Cat Chronicles to be her Valentine. Sawyer is asking Noelle from Friends Furever to be his Valentine. Lisbeth would like Charles to be her Valentine. Mau is asking Allie (Friends Furever) to be his Valentine and Cooper Murphy is requesting Tyebe (The Canadian Cats) be his Valentine.

Wow, what a romantic group of cats!

To create this art I used a combination of piZap and PicMonkey and used an overlay of a page I colored in the Happy Color application.

Kitties Blue are entering Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. If you’d like to join them or find links to art by other bloggers, click on Athena’s badge.

 Sunday Selfies Reminder

It’s time again for you to put a smile on your face and take a selfie to share with all your friends and on our blog hop tomorrow. We know it will be two days after Valentine’s Day, but if you’d like to turn your selfie into a Valentine, that would be cool. Whichever of the Kitties Blue volunteers to be your host will be sporting some type of “hearty” theme.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #180

The weeks just keep rolling by at a ridiculously alarming pace. Halloween is next week. Before we know it, Christmas will be here and then 2020. With that thought, it’s time again for fill-ins. Hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (For-Legged Furballs), Friendly Fill-Ins is a weekly blog hop, which gives those of us participating the opportunity to learn a bit more about each other.

The sentences to be completed can be found each Thursday on Ellen and Lorianne’s blogs. The hop takes place at Four-Legged Furballs. You can get there by clicking on the badge at the left.

I received a bit of assistance this week from Mauricio. We both have used teal italics for our fill-ins. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Mauricio: I didn’t know how happy I could be until I met and married Allie (Friends Furever).

2. I try to always look for the silver lining in any bad situation.

3. My fear of Sawyer having a seizure keeps me from leaving the house unless absolutely necessary. (Once again I seem to have jinxed our little guy by mentioning him in yesterday’s post. He had a gran mal seizure in the middle of last night.)

4. If I were a ghost, I would haunt a bakery.

Feline Friday

Cooper Murphy is such a great big brother. He and Sawyer are hopping over to Comedy Plus to join the Feline Friday blog hop. To join click on the badge below.

FLOWERY THANK YOU FROM MAU

Caturday Art

Yesterday I received a box of goodies for my birthday from my sweet wife, Allie (Friends Furever). I am so lucky to have her in my life!

Mom got this photo of me with the cute Kliban card she sent with the gifts. To artify my photo, Mom used Painnt again. She used the Flowers effect and the grain merge color composition. She also used piZap again for the border.

I’m entering Athena’s Caturday Art blog hop. If you’d like to join me or just check out some other cool art, click on her badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Another week has sped by and selfies are staring us in the face again. MOL! I have no idea who will step up to be your host, but I know it won’t be me.

Finally, before I go, I’d like to ask that you visit our blog from yesterday, “Simply Irresistible.” My two young brofurs are featured, and they really are too cute to be missed.

Purrs and paw-pats, Mau (with smoochies for Allie)

HEARTFELT THANKS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Each Thursday Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) host a poetry “challenge.” The challenge is to use the inspiration photo they provide as the basis for a poem.

I loved this week’s photo. It’s most likely this young lady is giving her first recital, but she already could be an accomplished pianist…a prodigy. Though I did play the piano at one time, I was no virtuoso. It is my experience reflected in the poem I wrote today.

Please Play Far, Far Away

I took piano lessons when I was a kid.
It was probably because my sister did.
She learned quickly and played well.
I had little talent but mastered my scales.
It made my mom crazy when I would play.
She’d say she wished I’d play far, far away.
Though the piano was never my forte,
I still have one in my house today.
It’s just like the one from when I was small,
But just like then, I am not musical.

Thankful Thursday

Our first thankful for today is major…Sawyer has not had a seizure in 17 days. It has been months since he has had such a long break. (If you are near wood, please knock on it. I don’t want to jinx him.)

I must attribute this to Life Extension Cat Mix. (This is not a review, and I have no affiliation with this product.) It is a nutritional supplement, and I don’t believe it is a magic cure. I just believe with the addition of it to his food, he actually is eating most of the time, and so he is getting the full dosages of his meds.

But I am not ruling out the power of all the prayers and POTP. Dad Tom, Sawyer and I are super thankful for those.

Mau and Cooper Murphy had fun at Cat Scouts Summer Camp, but are happy it is over so they could return to their usual pastimes of napping, eating and bird TV watching.

Mau has a couple of other thankfuls as well. The first is for a trophy for having the best Old Faithful geyser height guess. He wanted to show you a photo, but I cannot find it right now. He is most thankful for the rock Allie painted for him at Camp. Unbeknownst to each other, they both had the same idea. Allie’s rock is on the left. Mau’s is on the right. Clearly Allie has the better painting skills.

Though neither are Cat Scouts, Allie’s little sisfur, Noelle, painted a beautiful heart for Sawyer. In return he is sending her paw-pats and whisker kisses.

Thankful Thursday is a blog ho hosted by the terrific tabby, Brian. To join, post on you blog for what you are thankful and then click on the badge below.

MAU & SAWYER HELP WITH FILL-INS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #169

With the help of Sawyer and Mau, I am joining the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop. It is hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs).

Each Thursday they both post four sentences with blanks to be filled-in by participants. On Friday we post our filled-in sentences and link to the hop on Lorianne’s blog. To go there, click on the badge at the left.

Our completions are in teal italics.

1. Sawyer: When I can’t have treats, I get grumpy. (This is a photo from when I first came to live here, but I still make this grumpy face and growl when I get mad.)

2.  Bring back the days before robocalls.

3. I’m embarrassed to say I am very behind in visiting and commenting on the blogs of our friends.

4. Mau: I feel like my sweet and loving wife, Allie (Friends Furever), gives my life meaning.

Isn’t she gorgeous!

MAU’S SELFIE FOR ALLIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #260

Sunday Selfies

I had a bit of help from Mom with my selfie. Hope y’all don’t mind. And I hope my lovely Allie is sitting down when she sees this. She has a tendency to faint.

This was taken in the new bedroom. At the time, I was sharing the bed with Misty May, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy. As usual, not much room for the humans.

It’s supposed to be really hot and humid today, so I will be taking it easy. Before you settle in for your easy, please join me on the blog hop.

If you are new to our weekly hop, welcome. Here are some tips for hopping that might help you.

  • The link to add your selfie to the hop is below.
  • You also will find below the code to use if you’d like the hop to appear on your blog.
  • Posting on Sundays is not necessary to join.
  • You do not need to be a cat to enter. All anipals are welcome regardless of species.
  • The hop remains open for entries through Thursday midnight.
  • Please be so kind as to display our badge and/or link to The Cat on My Head.
  • Take the opportunity to visit some of the other hop-alongs and make some new friends or reconnect with some old ones.

Everybody have a great day.

Purrs and paw-pats, Mau

ALLIE & MAU’S THIRD ANNIVERSARY

Anniversary Celebration

Please join us as we celebrate the anniversary of Mau & Allie’s (Friends Furever) wedding. They were married at Cat Scouts in a beautiful ceremony purrformed by Denmaster. We think it remains the grandest affair ever to take place at Scouts.

Here’s a copy of their invitation followed by a framed photo of the bride and groom on the dance floor.

Mau’s best man, now angel, Sammy, sent this card from the Rainbow Bridge. It is from him and brother Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). It features a photo of the wedding party.

3rd anniversary - Allie & Mau

L to R: Charles (Lisbeth’s boyfriend), Best Man Sammy, Mau, Allie, Maid of Honor Gracie, Anya (Allie’s girlfriends) and Sundae (Sammy’s girlfriend). All members of the wedding party (except Sundae) are Cat Scouts.

If you were not following us at the time of the wedding, you might enjoy the post, “A Grand Affair.” It includes a poem from Mau for Allie.

Mau made a special card for Allie and baked an anniversary cake in his Cat Scout Bake Shop.

And finally, Mau has a special bouquet for Allie.

What Mau lacks in the ability to color coordinate, he makes up for in his love for Allie.

Please join us in a toast to Mau and Allie and then hang around and enjoy some cake and camaraderie.

“To Allie and Mau, may your love last forever!”

SEVENTH BLOGOVERSARY

Sunday Selfies: Week #258

Welcome to our Seventh Blogoversary celebration.

In lieu of a new selfie, we are sharing a few from the past. First up are Lily Olivia and Fiona, our two angels who were here with us when The Cat on My Head began. Their first selfies actually were posted prior to our starting the blog hop.

Lily Olivia’s first Sunday Selfie, prior to the start of the blog hop. June 14, 2014

Fiona’s first Sunday Selfie was on our 400th post on July 20, 2014. This also was prior to starting the blog hop.

The start of the Sunday Selfies blog hop actually was on Astrid and Lisbeth’s birthday, which I discovered while writing the post. Astrid was not featured. I was already a bad mom.

That hop had a total of seven purrticipants, including three that continue to join us: Canadian Cats, 15 And Meowing and Tomcat Commentary by Tim. A special thanks to moms, Jean and Ellen, and dad, Pete, for your continued support. I may have to find some prizes for y’all, but no promises.

Sunday Selfies: Week #1 of the blog hop. featured Lisbeth – August 17, 2014

We are hoping you will join the blog hop by linking up your selfie. We are skipping our usual blog hop tips this week. Instead Kitties Blue are presenting some milestones from the past seven years.
