Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
As we do most Thursdays, Kitties Blue and I are joining our dear friends Teddy and angel Sammy for Thoroughly Poetic Thursday.
This tiny, blue house is the inspiration photo Mom Pam provided. It was challenging, yet fun, to write a poem about it. Our poem is below. To read the one Sammy will have sent from the Rainbow Bridge and find links (in the comments) to other poems, click on the poetry badge.
The Tiny Blue House
A tiny house is purrfect for a cat;
Much better than living in a hat
Or in a shoe like that old woman.
That’s not even good for a human.
We live in a big house, which is best,
So the eight of us aren’t always stressed.
Stuffing us into an itty bitty place
Wouldn’t allow each to have private space.
If we tried to live in this small abode,
Some of us would need to hit the road
And look for a home much less crowded,
Where we wouldn’t feel totally surrounded.
But if you’re a single cat or maybe a pair,
You probably won’t mind if you have to share.
You’ll be nice and cozy in your tiny home,
And you will never want to roam.
But you’ll be able to travel wherever you desire—
As long as you don’t get a flat tire—
Without ever having to leave your warm bed
Or even having to lift your sleepy head.
You can live on a mountain or at the beach.
No destination is ever out of reach.
Kitties Blue might be just a tad jealous,
But I’m pretty certain they’ll never tell us.
Whether you travel today or tomorrow,
Enjoy your house no matter where you go.
But don’t forget to send a note once in a while.
To tell us about your nomad lifestyle.

I am not really satisfied with how this poem ends, which reminds me of what Jeff Daniel Marion, a poet teaching a workshop in which I was enrolled, once told me. “Most poems are never really finished; they are abandoned.” That’s exactly how I feel about this one. Sorry. Hope you like it anyway.
Thankful Thursday
Today’s thankful concerns Sawyer. Since upping his medication dosage on May 12, he has not had a seizure. He, Dad Tom and I would like to thank those who have sent us suggestions on possible ways to help prevent his seizures. I know Sawyer will write about this in a future post. As to now, any prayers, purrs and POTP you can send his way will be greatly appreciated.

Sawyer is doing a lot of sleeping; though, he still has his crazy kitten moments and zoomies. Big brother and protector, Cooper Murphy, is usually close by.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To join, click on his badge.
That was a wonderful poem about the teeny house. We imagined it tagging behind on road trips s no kitty would need to be left with a sitter, MOL! Or maybe the abode for the skunk! Instead of in the trunk:)
That is good to hear that Sawyer improved on the new dose of medicine. Purrs for him continuing to be seizure free.
I love yoor poem! My mom thinks it would be fun to have a tiny house in our yard, so she and I could escape my rowdy brofurs and enjoy peaceful time. I’m sending pawprayers for Sawyer.
We are glad Sawyer is seizure free for now and you got helpful advice too!
Stay well little Buddy, looks as though you have good help.

We really liked your poem. We’re not going to be living in a tiny house but we might be doing some traveling around the country in a travel trailer. I don’t know if I’ll like being that close to Echo and Ocean but mom says it’ll be fun. Glad Sawyer is doing better.
That is a clever poem! And we’re so glad to hear Sawyer is doing better on the new medication dose. We hope he continues to do well.
More hugs and purrs to Sawyer!
I think that small blue house would be purrfect for our Outside Cats!
Love the poem. I’m not sure I’d like to live in such a small house. It’s quite the rage in many circles.
Great news on Sawyer. He remains in my prayers.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
Glad Sawyer is doing better. Love the picture and poem!
Great poem! Allie says that’s the purrfect home for her and Mau to share!
We hope the meds continue to work for Sawyer!

Little Sawyer my fur sibs and I have been including you in our purrs and nightly prayers. Also sending POTP your way. It’s encouraging that your new dosage of your medicine is working on keeping your seizures under control. The little blue house poem was beautiful. Sending oodles of love to my sweetie MsLisbeth.

Well, we enjoyed that poem! I’m so glad Sawyer hasn’t been visited by the evil monster and we’re all sending purrs and prayers his way. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
What a nice poem. We were thinking it might be a nice hang out, but not so much a place to live. Mom’s not sure she could even fit all our toys.
First of all to my little friend Sawyer, just know that Mom and I continue to send prayers and purrs for you to stay seizure-free. We would take that away from you in a minute if we could!! Secondly, we LOVE your poem about the little blue house. Angel Sammy thought it would be a fun inspiration for poetry and so far the poems we’ve read by everyone PROVE that to be true! Happy Thursday.
Love, Teddy
I’m so glad to hear that the medication is working out for Sawyer… I am purring that it continues to do so.
So glad he hasn’t had any more seizures!
