Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
The weeks just keep flying by, and summer is almost here. The inspiration photo Teddy and Angel Sammy’s mom, Pam, selected this week is beautifully summery and magical. That magic is what sparked our poem.
Listening for Fairies
If you’re a cat and you listen
Carefully, you can hear the fairies
Whispering, singing and laughing,
As they skip, dart and dance
Beneath the bright green foliage.
If you close your eyes and open
Them very slowly, you might even
See a nebulous outline or two.
Fairies are magical, so humans
Cannot hear or see them. Cats
Must be careful when watching
The fairies and not get too close
Or call attention to themselves.
That might cause a nosey human
To draw near and unknowingly kick
Or squash the delicate creatures.
Once disturbed, fairies will flit away
On wispy wings, never to return.
And life without fairies is sad,
Wearisome and colorless.

Thankful Thursday
Kitties Blue and I have three thankfuls this week. The first one is huge.
- Two days ago BlogPaws made the following announcement:
It is with a happy heart that we share this news with you. Chewy will be transitioning the BlogPaws organization back to one of the original members, Chloe DiVita, who has guided the community through its successes for many years.
This transition will take place July 1.
When I sent an e-mail to Chloe saying how happy I am to have her returning, she replied:
I still really have no idea what this will mean, but I’m happy to be uniting the community again and figuring it out!
This is great news for all those who are part of the BlogPaws community, and I can’t wait for July 1.
2. Our second thankful concerns our Sawyer. He has been seizure free now for a month. He can be a little stinker about taking his meds, in order to get additional stinky goodness, but a few extra spoonfuls won’t break the kitty food fund or turn him into a pudge, so…
3. The track pad on the computer was replaced and it didn’t cost an arm, leg and kitty paw.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To join, blog about your thankfuls and click on the badge below to hop over to Brian’s Home.
What a wonderful poem. We love watching faeries out our wndows playing in the bushes. They wave and smile and it is such fun.
We are super glad that Sawyer is now seizure free. Dad has been trying to give Rumpy fiber, again. His bloomer problem has gotten a bit worse lately and he would rather a solution than having towels at the ready. Rumpy is lucky Dad loves him so.
PS Dad says 45 would be perfect for him so he could go back before his accident. That was about 20 years ago now.

You have some wonderful things to be thankful for. We hope for the very best for BlogPaws too
It’s always nice to have lots of good news, especially the good news about Sawyer.
That was an excellent poem. And those 3 things are great things to be thankful for, especially Sawyer being seizure free for a month. XO
Your poem puts the perfect words to the magical image Angel Sammy shared with us. And your thankfuls are just as wonderful. Hooray, Sawyer! Purrs to all of you!
Thank you for sharing a lovely poem on this Thankful Thursday. We are happy that Sawyer is seizure free now for a month now and congratulations to Chloe DiVita. Have a great day.
What a great poem. We would like to hear the fairies sing. And those are great things to be thankful for…’specially the news about Sawyer…we hope he remains seizure free.
We loved your poem! Yay for Sawyer! We hope he stays calm, cool and seizure free.
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and loads of love to Mau from Allie
Yay for Sawyer; let’s keep that streak going, big guy! And any repair on a computer that isn’t horrendously expense is terrific.
I always enjoy your poems. I don’t have the poem gene. It’s a shame too.
Being thankful is so important. Many rush through life and never stop to smell all the roses along the way.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Cool poem! I was happy to hear that Chloe was back too but I’m even happier to hear that Sawyer is doing well. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
What a delightful post today…MOmmy and I loved it all. And we are thankful that you have those things to be thankful about…especially Sawyer. XXX
You do have some great thankfuls today – mostly we’re happy to hear Sawyer remains seizure-free……it would be GREAT if he’s “outgrown” them but we will always keep him in our prayers no matter what! We think your poem today is amazing – we just KNEW that photo would bring some super poetry to the world and this is a perfect example of what WE felt when we saw this photo too…..little worlds….little beings…..lots of magic!
Hugs, Teddy
Pawsome poem! And yup, we agree wif Summer.
Lots of things need protection from humans, not just fairies!
