Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
We are here with a poem for Angel Sammy and Teddy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge. The inspiration photo they selected for us today definitely elicited an “awww” from me. Kitties Blue are great fans of the squirrels at our house, as they provide them with hours of entertainment.
When the Kids Move Back Home
Hey, quit hogging all the space.
This is my resting place.
Go build your own nests;
You two are huge pests.
When you first moved away,
I expected you to stay…
Not come home and move back in
After all you are now grown men.

Thankful Thursday
In addition to writing a poem on Thursday, we also share our thankfuls with you and join the blog hop at Brian’s Home.
I have one thankful this week that outweighs all others. I am thankful for the return to sanity in our Nation’s Capitol with the inauguration of Joesph R. Biden and Kamala D. Harris as our new President and Vice President. May our country begin to heal.
I remain broken-hearted over the more than 400,000 of our citizens who have lost their lives to the coronavirus. Though I do not expect to be able to get a vaccine anytime soon, I am thankful that it is out there and eventually will be available to all who want it.
Finally, I am thankful for the support and friendship of those who follow us. May you all remain safe and healthy in 2021.
To participate in the blog hop, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to share your thankfuls with him and join the hop.

We are totally on board with your thankful. Here’s to a future of civil discourse and treating each other with respect and kindness.
Nice photo. Reminds us of kids back at home due to quarantine.
A very appropriate poem that fits all those who impose MOL. We Hope things are better but feel that they will probably stay the same. The Hope is alive though which is what we need in life. Such a sweet photo and we are thankful. We have signup for vaccination and Dad did so we will see how long it takes. Then there is the wait for efficacy so this is no race. Stay safe friends

Empty nesters, with hopes for peace and quiet…duly disturbed and nest-ful!! MOL, MOL!
That is such a fun poem!
I too hope you can get the vaccine soon. I would have thought you were in a priority group?
We have now both had ours, one of us from Moderna and the other got Pfizer. ( I got mine on account of my work in long term care, and hubby got his due to his over 65 status. The hospitals around here are opening clinics and one can set up appointments…you get called in order received, and some of the larger pharmacies are also setting up appointments in the same manner.)
Vaccine available more and more places here too. Today is the first day our local Publix markets will be giving it. I’ve heard Moderna has fewer side effects. How did your vaccines compare?
