Thankful Thursday
Kitties Blue and I share the first thankful. Our friend, Brian, who is the host of Thankful Thursday got good news from the vet. The results of the biopsy he had last week showed no sign of lymphoma or cancer cells. He does have IBD, but that is treatable. This is absolutely the best thankful of the week!
The other thankfuls for the week are mine.
First, Angel Charles’ mom, Inge, sent me this beautiful plaque for the side yard where Mau is buried. I told her that I refer to it as Mau and Allie’s garden and wanted to get a sign for it. I am overwhelmed by her kindness and thoughtfulness. Friends are great!
My second thankful is that my hair has finally grown out enough to put it in a ponytail, and I only need three or four hair clips to keep the short pieces in place. (This may sound silly to the men, but when it gets hot, I cannot stand my hair on my neck, which is one reason I kept it long.)
And finally, our new dishwasher arrived and has been installed. We thought it was going to be out of stock until spring.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop. If you would like to participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to go to his blog and link up.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Besides being thankful on Thursdays, I try to participate in Angel Sammy and Teddy’s poetry challenge. They provide an inspiration photo, and those of us who participate write a poem based on the photo.
Here’s this week’s photo.
I’ll have to admit my poem for this week is rather pathetic. I had some marbles when I was growing up, just because I thought they were pretty, but I never really understood the point of the game.
Not a Kid Anymore
I never learned to play marbles.
Now I can’t get on the ground.
Old age sucks.

If you’d like to write some poetry, check out Two Spoiled Cats (by clicking on the poetry badge) on Thursdays. You’ll find the inspiration photo for the following week. While visiting, please read Angel Sammy’s poem. I can guarantee it will be lots better than mine.
Thanks for stopping by. We hope to see you again tomorrow.
What a beautiful piece for the garden. So thoughtful!!!!💞
What a beautiful plaque! We saw it was the anniversary and felt the heaviness in our hearts and needed this lift. Great thankfuls. When I was younger I always had long hair. Now I always have it “high and tight.” Great thankfuls and poem
I was the same as you with marbles as a kid, LOL. Your poem is perfect.
All your thankfuls are so good, and the stone for your “garden” is wonderful. Amy
Great thankfuls. That is a beautiful and thoughtful gift of the plaque. I can relate to the poem. XO
I am thankful about Brian too. That plaque is beautiful. I like your poem.
Beautiful garden plaque. Made me smile.
Love your poem and I had a mason jar full of marbles when I was little I loved playing marbles. Getting on the floor now? Not going to happen.
I don’t like hair on the back of my neck either when it’s hot.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥

I forgot to say how beautiful that plaque is, really beautiful.
Those are some really nice thankfuls and thanks so much for thinking of me. We enjoyed your poem too. Our Dad lost his marbles years ago. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
The kitties and I are very happy about Brian’s good news too! That was a very nice gift from Angel Charles’ mom.
There are a lot of good thankfuls this week. I like your poem. It’s funny even though I shouldn’t laugh because it applies to me.
We are thrilled about Brian’s news. The plaque is beautiful. That was super thoughtful of Angel Charles’s Mom.
Yay for longer hair and a new dishwasher!! Mom should clip hers up when she works outside too but she never remembers.

What a beautiful garden plaque from Miss Inge. A very sweet gift indeed…….and we are happy you have hair long enough for a ponytail (why not a cat-tail??), and a new dishwasher too! My Mom says the toughest part of playing marbles would be the standing back up after being on the ground. Mom needs help from Dad to get up once she’s down! We were happy about Brian’s news too……!
Hugs, Teddy (and Mom)
Hooray for Brian’s great news!
That is a beautiful marker stone for Mau and Allie. How sweet for a friend to have that made for you:)
Glad you got your new dishwasher! We need some new plumbing here and maybe a new washing machine…
While I can still get up from the floor…and I practice it a lot on purpose…I don’t care to sit there, so games of marbles wouldn’t be on my list of priorities either…
And, yes, I too am a lady of certain age…most would retire if they were as old as I am, LOL! But being ancient comes with issues, that’s for sure! I am thankful, I don’t have too many…but I do pray I never end up like the peeps I care for at the nursing home…
(See ya on Sunday at the selfies! Or maybe not as I have to work)
HURRAH FOR BRIAN’S NEWS!!!!! We were waiting for that. And yes, getting ON to the ground is not too bad…it is getting UP for mama that is the challenge, haha.
