A PLACE OF REPOSE & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

The days and weeks just keep slipping by, and we remain sequestered at home, except for essential trips. I can’t say I’m bored, but I miss seeing my friends person. I am grateful to have Kitties Blue to keep us entertained and this blog to keep my brain engaged. And what better way to stimulate one’s brain than with the challenge of writing a poem.

So…thank you to Teddy, Angel Sammy and Mom Pam from Two Spoiled Cats, who provide us each week with an inspiration photo to get our creative juices flowing.

Here’s this week’s photo followed by my poem.

A Place of Repose

As we spun in a circle by the light of the moon,
I started to get dizzy and thought I would swoon.
When I closed my eyes and began to sway,
I soon discovered I was on my way
To some magical place atop a magnificent steed
Where everyone was happy and had no need.
Each person glowed with health and a permanent smile.
Existence was good and not just for the while.
After some time, I began to realize
That what I was seeing was not through my eyes
Nor was I dreaming which is what I’d supposed,
But rather I was in a place of unearthly repose.
Heaven’s gates had opened, and I was welcomed inside
To a beautiful home forever to reside.
As I look back now on a life well lived,
I thank God for that wonderful gift.

While there, make certain to read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge, and it’s always a winner. Also check out the Comments section for links to other poems.

Thankful Thursday

Every Thursday we also share for what we are thankful and join Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop.

This week we are grateful for the wonderful turnout for week 300 of our Sunday Selfies blog hop. Kitties Blue and I had no idea when we began this hop five-plus years ago that it would still be around today. Heck, we never expected to still be blogging after nearly eight years. We’d also like to thank The Cat Blogosphere for this badge.

I am personally thankful for completing my 1,000th Peloton ride. With our Greenways and the YMCA closed, having this available at home is a blessing.

Periwinkle and Stinky are grateful to those of you who joined them for their most recent adventure. If you missed it, click here to check it out. They wrote some silly limericks about their fursibs, which they’re sure you will enjoy.

Dad Tom and I are thankful that we are getting Sawyer to eat some food to which we’ve added CBD oil. The dose we are giving him is quite low, but I do hope to increase it over time. It will take a while for us to see if it has any effect on his seizures.

If you’d like to participate in the blog hop, post for what you are thankful and then click on Brian’s badge.
