Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday gives participants the opportunity to use their imaginations. If you haven’t been joining in the fun, check out Two Spoiled Cats (by clicking on the badge at the left) for next week’s inspiration photo.
While there, make certain to read Angel Sammy’s poem. He is a masterful poet, and I can promise you will enjoy his poem. Links to poems by other bloggers can be found in the comments. It’s always fun to see how others viewed the inspiration photo.
In his tuxedo,
Is this penguin pretentious?
No, he’s the butler.
This is definitely an adorable photo, so I have no idea why I couldn’t produce more than a haiku. I spent time yesterday reading about penguins to get some ideas, yet nothing I read helped. After deciding on the haiku, it took me another three hours to come up with the final line. It may have matched the photo better if I had identified the big penguin as the father, teacher or even nanny, but none of the those designations had the same impact.
So, I believe I best move on to this week’s thankfuls.
Thankful Thursday
Each week Kitties Blue and I join the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian.
Though Sawyer had that huge seizure on Friday, I am grateful he doesn’t seem to have any brain damage from his high fever. He has spent most of his time sleeping since coming home Saturday morning, but yesterday he decided to play “springs,” which I found encouraging. He did have another seizure this week, but it was a mild one. That’s a big thankful. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been eating well which means he isn’t getting all his meds. So we are on high alert.
Dad Tom, Sawyer and I are particularly thankful to everyone who has been purring and praying for Sawyer. Your thoughtfulness and support is totally appreciated.
Kitties Blue and I won a badge yesterday for being one of three first commenters on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. We got this cool badge.
Thank you Teddy and Angel Sammy.

I’ve been thinkin’ tons abouts Sawyer and sendin’ lots of healin’ vibes his way ~ and lots of AireZens for you too, cause I knows that Moms can Pops can worry so. I hopes he gets his appetite back, so he can have some steady meds on board.

Cute poem. I am glad Sawyer doesn’t have brain damage. XO
that’s a great haiku. I am keeping Sawyer in my thoughts.
We like your haiku! Sometimes short and sweet says it all. Continued purrs for Sawyer. We’re glad he was playing a little.
We are thankful with you about Sawyer. We are purring and pawyering for him…hope he will start eating better, too.
That was a fun haiku! Penguins are interesting creatures:)
Thanks for sharing your cute little poem. A tuxie butler is always great to see. We love that photo of the penguins. We all here are thinking about Sawyer. Have a wonderful day.
Aren’t they the cutest? Except for kitties of course.
Awww! Poor baby! I am so sorry to hear Sawyer is feeling so poorly. Sending many purrs, much love and many prayers y’alls way!
I love that haiku and the photo. Brave Sawyer, please know we’re sending lots of healing purrs and prayers your way.
Such a sweet little tuxie butler! We’re purring and praying so hard for dear Sawyer, we can’t imagine the stress on you and Dad Tom. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
I enjoy your haikus; I was taught haiku poetry in elementary school, and love the simplicity to the form. Of course we are concerned about Sawyer; we are with you in spirit, every step of his journey. Our blogs are our voices, and we each know what it’s like.
Oh Sawyer – we are purraying you take your meds and have more good days.
As always, our purrs and prayers are with sweet Sawyer (especially Noelle’s!)
We think your haiku is fun!!
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle.
What a GREAT haiku to go with Angel Sammy’s photo this week. I think it’s clever and very cool – that guy looks very much like a butler in his formal tux with the little one doing his best to look just like him in his “mini-tux” !! Thanks for playing along with us every week. We continue to pray for Sawyer and always will….he is our “brother of the heart”.
Love, Teddy
I am sending more healing purrs to Sawyer.
We’re sending Sawyer lotsa POTP.
We’ve been thinking a lot about you and Sawyer. He sounds like a fighter – just like his Mom. A few weeks ago, I finally saw Happy Feet 1 & 2 and it was pretty cute!
