Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
It is Thursday, which means it is time to write a poem for the Two Spoiled Cats, Teddy And Angel Sammy’s, poetry challenge. They provide an inspiration photo, and participants use it as the subject or jumping off place for a poem.
The yummy-looking photo and my poem are below. Being let loose in this point and able to order and eat whatever I want would be a dream come true.
A Delicious Display
What totally lucious treats—
I think I’d like at least one of each.
I have a sweet tooth, that is true,
So having one dessert just won’t do.
I think, in fact, I’ll skip my entreé
And have you bring me an entire tray
Of brownies, eclairs and lemon tarts,
Plus some Linzer cookies with the hearts,
One coconut cake and a pecan pie
Then I’ll let you know what catches my eye.
With desserts as far as one can see—
Oh what a great day I predict this will be!

In addition to providing the inspiration photo, Angel Sammy writes a poem each week and transmits it to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge. He is a masterful poet, so please drop my Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the badge above, to read his poem.
Thankful Thursday
Thursday also is when we join the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to go to his blog and enter the link to yours.
My biggest fear has always been fire. While growing up in California, I remember many fires, but nothing like we see now. I am honestly thankful that we no longer live there. Worry about friends and family is stressful enough. So far, everyone is okay (including my friend who had to evacuate) for which I am thankful.
I am also thankful we remain virus free, and to my knowledge all our friends and family remain healthy.
Finally, I am thankful to have been one of four First Commenters on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. I won this cool badge.
Great poem. Congrats on being first commenter on the teaser. XO
All those desserts is making us hungry! Great poem!
Those are great things to be thankful for. We loved your poem today.
We love your poem and are so happy you are all safe at your house. We are scared of fire too as that is something that takes no quarter
Those really are wonderful thankfuls and that was quite the yummy poem! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
It’s smoky here this morning and we’re heading to the bay starting tomorrow morning. It just burns here every summer and this year is the worst.
We are healthy here too and don’t know anyone that has had the virus.
I helped myself to some of those desserts. If you eat them virtually they don’t cause weigh gain.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to you. ♥
Great poem. Mom here wouldn’t be able to resist those goodies either. Mom has a fear of fire too. She lost a lot of her keepsake Christmas things in a fire at a storage place.
The Florida Furkids with paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
Back in the day, I’d do almost anything for a big slice of a frosted cake!
Nowadays, a fresh apple or some mango is enough.
I worry ‘about the wild animals that are in trouble because of the fires out West, and here in Michigan, the COVID pandemic is in a 2nd upswing, which is much worse than the original in March/April.
What a GREAT poem! My Mom is a dessert-a-holic too but manages SOMEHOW to avoid buying out the bakery section of the grocery when she shops on Sundays. Only rarely does she MAKE a dessert at home. Mostly she just daydreams about all those delightful desserts knowing if she indulged, her jeans would no longer fit!
Hugs, Teddy
I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but I wouldn’t say no to any of the three cakes in the very centre of the front row.
