BEST FRIEND CATS ARE AWWW-DORABLE

Sparks

Nothing better exists than a good and faithful friend. I sincerely believe this! Thus, today’s Spark.

cat best friends

If you are unfamiliar with the author of today’s Spark, here’s a bit of information. William (Bill) Boyd Watterson II is a retired American cartoonist and the author of one of my all-time favorite comic strips, Calvin and Hobbes. It was syndicated from 1985 to 1995. Watterson stopped drawing the strip at the end of 1995. He made a short statement to newspaper editors and his readers saying that he felt he’d achieved all he could in the medium.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Awww Mondays

Cooper Murphy and Sawyer will be popping over to Comedy Plus to participate in the Awww Mondays blog hop. You can join them there by clicking on the Awww badge.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow is our favorite day of the week, as those cutie pies, Periwinkle and Stinky, share an adventure with us. Stinky has planned another exciting escapade and he would be delighted if you join Periwinkle and him. These two tabbies have lots of fun when they are together and love sharing their adventures with all of you.

LOOK INTO MY CAT EYES

Sunday Selfies: Week #393

LOOK INTO MY CAT EYES: KIZMET SHARES A SELFIE THAT ENHANCES HER LOVELY EYES.

Did you expect to see me today? I bet you did. I’m the only one who would volunteer to take a selfie and be your host. Do you like it? I love having my photo taken, and I like this one as well as the frame my mom selected. It enhances my eye color.

Not much else is happening with me or my fursibs. We are just waiting for some warmer weather so we can spend more than a few minutes at a time on the catio.

Since that’s all I’ve got today, it’s time for hopping. I sure hope a lot of you will join us today. All the Kitties Blue and our humans enjoy seeing your adorableness. We appreciate your support, following and friendship. Without it, this blog would not exist.

Purrs & paw-pats, Kizmet

p.s. Yesterday a couple of you asked how Cooper Murphy got his name. Well, our mom named him, and it just came to her. She keeps a list of cat names she likes. Neither of those were on it. After she named him, she discovered there is a baseball player with the same name. I bet our Cooper Murphy is more popular.

COOPER MURPHY IN FLUX

Caturday Art

Yesterday Cooper Murphy discovered the cardboard chalet Kizmet received for her Gotcha Day. She and Misty May have been fighting over it since day one with numerous sessions of smacky paws. This caused the destruction of the chalet on more than a few occasions. It’s standing now due my liberal use of duct tape on the inside.

Others of the Kitties Blue have occasionally checked it out. But in the two months we’ve had it, Cooper Murphy has ignored it. Suddenly yesterday, he took up resistance and stayed for many hours. I took the opportunity to take several photos and used one for today’s art.

Ginger cat Cooper Murphy is curled up inside the cardboard chalet for Caturday Art created with Painnt and the in flux filter from piZap.

Once I added the frame, the creation reminded me of the rainbow suckers that were always available at the circus and county fair. What do you think?

To create my art, I once again used Painnt. The effect is the Stylized Textile Design. I did change the hue of the original output. To the top of that I added the Flux filter from piZap and a frame from the favpng app.

I made a puzzle for you as well.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Tomorrow is already the last Sunday in February. This year is already flying by. Of course, Sunday means selfies. Quite surprisingly, one of the Kitties Blue volunteered to host the hop. I’m not going to tell you who, as that would give you an excuse to neglect coming by to say, “hi,” and dazzle us with your adorableness. Instead, I’ll just say, “Y’all come. We’re gonna have a blast!”

RELAX-A-CAT & FILL-INS

Feline/Friendship Friday

Cooper Murphy assumes his favorite position...belly up, and I have dubbed him Relax-a-Cat.

Cooper Murphy has trouble relaxing…just kidding! When he wakes up, he’ll be popping over to Comedy Plus and Create With Joy for the Feline Friday and Friendship Friday blog hops.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #300

In addition to Felines and Friendship, we also enjoy some Fill-Ins on Fridays. As I often do, I asked for help from Kitties Blue, and Sawyer graciously agreed. We both used teal italics for our filling in. Additional or explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Sawyer: On my walkabout is the scared-est I have ever been. (Dad Tom and I were pretty much the scaredest we’ve ever been as well.)

2. Sawyer: I really hate going to see the vet. (If any of you anipals enjoy it, Sawyer asks that you let him know in the Comments how to make it more tolerable.)

3. While most people like chocolate chip cookies, I don’t really care for them. (I like the cookie part, and I especially like the chocolate part, just not together.)

4. I’m glad that kitty litter was invented. (I’m pretty certain this one needs no explanation.)

Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each Thursday they provide the four sentences with blanks for your responses.  To participate, click on the Fill-Ins badge.

We’ll be back tomorrow for some Caturday Art and again on Sunday with our selfies hop.

Thanks for dropping by to see us.

SHOP CAT LISBETH & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Kitties Blue and I enjoy Thursdays, as we get to participate in Teddy and Angel Sammy’s weekly poetry challenge. Occasionally we take a bit of poetic license with the inspiration photo they provide. Today, Lisbeth has joined the photo and become the subject of my poem. That’s her in the box to the left of the shopkeeper.

Kitties Blue Lisbeth joins this week's Thoroughly Poetic Thursday inspiration photo as a shop cat and become subject of a poem by the same name.

Shop Cat

Being a shop cat is a pretty fine job.
Making friends with customers
And keeping the area mouse free,
Brings frequent gifts of yummy treats.
And there’s lots of fun to be had,
Hiding on shelves behind the goods
Or knocking an item or two on the floor.
Plus the variety of boxes to explore
Makes this every cat’s dream pursuit.
The shopkeeper is a friendly sort—
A pushover when it comes to his cat.
Never getting mad when she’s a bit of a brat.
Each morning when they open for business,
They greet their customers together.
All-in-all they make a fine pair,
Enjoying each day that they share.

If you’d like to try writing some poetry, check out Two Spoiled Cats on Thursdays for the following week’s inspiration photo. And while you’re visiting, please read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Bridge, and it always gets an A+ from us. You can click on the poetry badge to go there now.

Thankful Thursday

On Thursdays we also like to share for what we are thankful. I am starting off this week. My thankfuls include the kindness of our readers who left comments for Dad Tom on his birthday post. He has left replies for each of you, which you can see by clicking here.

I am particularly thankful that a new season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has started on Amazon Prime. If you have Amazon Prime and haven’t seen it, it might be time for some binge watching, as long as you don’t mind some “HBO words.”

Cooper Murphy is thankful for earning another merit badge at Cat Scouts. He learned about Proboscis Monkeys. They live in Borneo and are endangered. He passed the quiz with a score of 100%.

Our final thankful this week comes from Sawyer, Dad Tom and me. After several weeks of having a seizure every six days, our little guy is at 10 days seizure free. We all are praying that he can extend this into many more days or even weeks.

As we are each week, everyone here at the Kitties Blue house, including the humans, are thankful for your friendship, support and kind comments. We do our best to keep you entertained, and we appreciate it every time you visit us.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate post on you blog for what you are thankful and then click on his badge to join the hop.

FRIENDS & SPARK OF OPPORTUNITY & STRENGTH

Awww Mondays

Friends, Sawyer and Kizmet, are here today to give you your weekly dose of “Awww.”

They definitely accomplished their task, and you are invited to squee.

Sawyer and Kizmet are participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. You can join them by clicking on the Awww badge.

Sparks

With Dad Tom celebrating a milestone birthday yesterday, I think a Spark about aging is appropriate today. I believe it is important for each of us to face aging as Friedan did.

I used one of Dad Tom’s photographs for the Spark.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow is our favorite day of the week, as it’s when Periwinkle and Stinky share an adventure. It’s Periwinkle’s turn to plan the event, so you’ll want to check out Friends Furever tomorrow to find out what our tabbies get up to. These two youngsters have lots of fun when they are together and love sharing their adventures with all of you.

🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SELFIE 🎂

Sunday Selfies: Week #392

Today is our dad’s birthday. We have promised not to tell his age, so we’ll just say that he’s been on this earth for three-quarters of a century. As we are cats and cannot count, we have no idea how long that actually is.

We wanted to do something extra special to celebrate, so we gathered together (minus one of us) to sing a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday.

happy birthday selfie

Did you say that you are unable to hear is? Okay…we’ll try to sing louder!

As you can see a certain tortie is missing from the choir. She can decide to assert her tortitude at the most inopportune times. She said she didn’t want to be part of the group but would be doing something special on her own. What a diva! We guess we better see what she has done.

happy birthday selfie

Well, that is pretty nice, but we still think she shouldn’t be so capricious.

Our dad really is one of the very best cat dads. He feeds us, gives out treaties and is the World’s Best Poop and Pee Scooper. Mom also does the first two, but the last is all Dad. And we all know how important that job is.

All of us, including Mom and Astrid, hope you will leave a comment and wish our dad a happy birthday!

Hopping Time

Now it is your turn to join in the fun by adding your selfie to the blog hop. Even if we are occupied showing our dad how much we love him, we still want to see your adorableness represented here. And don’t forget, you can join up anytime through Thursday.

Please don’t be shy about asking your friends to join in the fun. A party is always better with lots of participants.

Thanks for your continued friendship and support.

KIZMET & SLIPPER MOUSE IN BLUE

Caturday Art

I created today’s art using a photo I posted on March 5 of last year. It is of Kizmet and my slippers in which she has deposited a mouse toy.

mouse slippers

As I almost always do, I used the Painnt app. This is the Mushroom effect. I changed the hue and turned Kizmet into a virtual Kitties Blue. And, of course, the frame is from favpng. I particularly like the optical illusion the frame creates. It’s as if one is looking down into a box.

If you are wondering if Kizmet continues to deposit treasures in my slippers, the answer is yes. As I was working on the art for this post, she placed my lip balm in my slipper.

If you’d like to see the original of this photo, you can find it at “Sawyer & Stinky Help With Fill-ins.”

Kizmet is joining the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. You can do the same by clicking on her badge.

I did create a puzzle for all who are interested.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

So tomorrow will be an exciting day at our house. It is Dad Tom’s birthday. We’ll definitely have some kind of special post for him, but it will be part of our regular blog hop. So please join us, and maybe even wish Dad Tom a happy birthday. I am not going to tell his age, but it is hard to predict what one of the cats might do. As the tagline for this blog states, “Cats are predictably unpredictable.”

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Happy Caturday!

FILL-INS WITH ANGEL MADISON & FRIDAY HOPS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #299

Another week of filling in, and I have managed to do it without any help from Kitties Blue; though, #2 is about one of our angels. My sentence completions are in teal italics. Explanatory or additional information is in parentheses.

1. It’s about time winter comes to an end.

2. An anecdote I like to tell is about the time our white cat, Madison, rolled in dirt in the yard until his fur looked brown. He asked to come in the house, but housekeeper Chris didn’t recognize him and wouldn’t let him in. (He ended up disappearing for three days, which, of course, worried us. But, I was relatively certain he’d return, as he’d hung around on our deck for six months before I invited him to live with us.)

My sweet and handsome boy was not fond of kisses.

3. I wish there was a way to lose weight without dieting and exercising. (I actually don’t have any problem with the exercising part, but doing only one without the other doesn’t really work.)

4. Too many people take friends and friendships for granted.

Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each Thursday they provide the four sentences with blanks for your responses.  To participate, click on the Fill-Ins badge.

Feline/Friendship Friday

Our angel Madison is participating in the blog hops hosted by Comedy Plus and Create With Joy, respectively.

If you’d like to know more about Madison, I think you will enjoy these two posts.

You also can learn more about him on The Felines page.

To join either or both of the Friday blog hops, click on the link(s) above.

Thanks for joining us today. We’ll be back tomorrow for some Caturday Art.
