THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CXII

Surprise!

Stinky is more anxious than usual as he awaits Periwinkle’s arrival. He is certain Periwinkle has no idea what he has planned for today’s adventure. Soon he hears the whoosh of the teleportation tunnel and Periwinkle comes tumbling out. Stinky feels badly, as he is unable to catch her as his paws are full. When she rights herself and straightens her furs, she is ready to chastise Stinky for not breaking her fall until she sees what he is holding.

“Wow, Stinky, are those for me?”

Periwinkle Gotcha Day

“Of course, do you like them?”

“They’re exquisite, but what is the occasion?”

“It’s a surprise, let’s go into the dining room.”

“Sure, are we staying here today?” asks Periwinkle.

In reply, Stinky takes Periwinkle’s paw, tells her to close her eyes, and leads her to the dining room.

When they arrive, Periwinkle hears a commotion and then many voices meowing, “SURPRISE!”

Periwinkle Gotcha Day

“Oh my gosh, what is all this about, Stinky?” asks Periwinkle.

“It is an early Gotcha Day Party for you and Kizmet. Her Gotcha Day is the 19th and yours is the 23rd. I had planned this for two weeks from now, but Mom couldn’t get tickets for what I wanted us to do today, so we will do it next time and celebrate your Gotcha Days early.”

Periwinkle throws her paws around Stinky and gives him a huge hug. “Oh I love a surprise. Thank you, Stinky.”

Stinky blushes and then tells Kizmet he has something for her as well. He gives her a beautiful bouquet from their mom and dad.

Kizmet is equally surprised and runs off to thank her parents. Waiting for Kizmet’s return, Periwinkle asks Stinky, “How did you get Raz and Reesie here without me knowing?”

“They teleported here moments before you, while you were getting ready,” Stinky tells her.

Party Time

As soon as Kizmet returns, Stinky shows her and Periwinkle the party table and then presents both girls with cakes made especially for them by Cooper Murphy.

Both girls’ mouths fall open, and together they run to Cooper Murphy and give him big hugs.

The tabbies and their fursibs spend the afternoon visiting, giggling and munching on the goodies.

Just before it is time for Periwinkle, Raz and Reesie’s departure, Stinky pulls Periwinkle aside. “I wrote a little something for you Periwinkle.”

Stinky picks up a piece of paper and reads a poem he has written.

Periwinkle your love is a gift.
Thinking of you always gives me a lift,
And dreaming of you is pure bliss.
My heart goes pitter patter when we kiss.
I hope you had a joyful and happy time
With all our furblings sharing in your surprise!

“Stinky, you are the best boyfriend. Thank you so much for this surprise and for getting Raz and Reesie here as well. I love you bunches.”

Stinky blushes and replies, “I love you too!”

After many whisker kisses and paw hugs, Periwinkle calls to Reesie and Raz to join her, and they enter the teleportation tunnel together. With waves to Stinky and all his fursibs, they are gone in a whoosh.

Stinky retires to the bedroom to dream of his precious girlfriend.

A TORTIE CHRISTMAS SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #381

As our mom told you yesterday, I have been spending a lot of time on her lap lately. When I am there, I purr and purr and purr. I am slightly embarrassed to say that I also drool. Mom and Dad think I am pouring on the extra loving as Santa is watching.

tortie Christmas

My selfie is one of my better ones; though, I did cut off the tip of my ear. Mom picked a nice frame, and one that would cover her arm which is under the tree. She also was kind enough to let Mom Emily know I have the selfie today. I have my paws crossed that my husband Sampy will come for a visit.

Hopping Time

You know I am a cat of few meows (unless Misty May is harassing me). Consequently, it is time for you to snap your selfie and hop-a-long with us. I know you are most likely helping your peeps decorate for the holidays, but if you can tear yourself away from burrowing in the wreaths and detangling lights, please join us. If you can’t make time today, you can join us anytime through Thursday.

On behalf of all the Kitties Blue thank you for your participation, support and friendship.

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid (with love and kisses for my Sampy)

GIULIETTA’S 2016 CHRISTMAS ART

Caturday Art

From now through the end of the year, I will be reposting some of my favorite Christmas-themed art from past Decembers. This week I am sharing my all-time favorite art of Giulietta from 2016.

Christmas Art

As I did in the original post, I also am sharing the photo from which I created the art, as I like it equally.

Christmas Art

Unlike with the first post, I have made a puzzle of each photo for you.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

The elusive Astrid will be here tomorrow as your host for our blog hop. She’s been spending an unimaginable amount of time in my lap the last couple of days, so I got her to snap a couple of selfies to share with you. As always, all the Kitties Blue look forward to seeing your smiling, adorable faces. So, please won’t you join us and invite a few friends as well.

Until tomorrow…

A NAP WITH MAU

Feline/Friendship Friday

naps with Mau

Calista Jo thinks a nap in a sunpuddle with a pillow featuring Mau is better than treats. That is a totally accurate statement. She is not obsessed with treats like her little brother.

C.J. will be joining the Feline Friday and Friendship friday blog hops as soon as she wakes up. You can do the same by clicking on the appropriate badge(s).

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #288

So, I did all the fill-ins this week without any help from my furry friends and am even posting them on the correct day (though a bit later than usual). Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs).

I have used teal italics for my fill-ins. Explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. My favorite holiday film is Love Actually.

2. My favorite Christmas song is “What Child is This?” (The song was written by Chatterton Dix in 1865 and subsequently set to the tune of “Greensleeves.” It has been my favorite since I was a young girl.)

3. If you ask me, ’tis the season for spending time with friends and loved ones.

4. The first time I was old enough to bake my grandpa’s birthday cake for his Christmas Eve birthday, is a holiday memory I’ll never forget. (I was 12 years old, and the cake had three layers, green, red and white. I do have a photo of myself and my grandpa with that cake, but to find it and scan it would take forever. If you would like to see me with my grandpa from when I was about three, go to the post, “Special Post for Mom.”)

Have a great Friday. We’ll be back tomorrow (on time) with some Caturday art.

WISH FOR PEACE & THANKFULS

Thankful Thursday

I have all the thankfuls this week. I share the first couple with Dad Tom.

💥 Spending Thanksgiving with family for the first time since 2017.

💥 Sawyer remaining seizure free while we were away and being seizure free for the past 17 days.

💥 Finishing addressing all Cooper Murphy’s Cat Scout holiday cards and getting a good start on Kitties Blues’ cards.

💥 Finishing all the decorating except for the trees.

💥 Kizmet falling in the bathtub (on a gloomy and sad day yesterday) giving me a good chuckle. I am even more thankful that I was no longer in the tub, and it only had a few inches of water remaining.

Wish Peace

Kizmet warming up after her unexpected dip in the tub.

💥 Having great, supportive and loving friends.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

After missing last week, I am back to participating in the Two Spoiled Cats’ (Angel Sammy and Teddy) poetry challenge.

Here’s this week’s photo followed by my short poem.

Wish for Peace

How peaceful our planet looks from afar.
I think I shall wish upon a star
That peace will spread across the earth
In time for the anniversary of Jesus’ birth.
