SCARY HALLOWEEN USIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #376

scary Halloween usie

We have what we think is a considerably non-scary usie today. It’s rather silly and lame in our opinion. What do you think? Our mom wanted all seven of us to put on costumes and do a “groupie” photo. However, even when it comes to virtual costumes, we are pretty uncooperative. We think we look best in the fur!

Anyhoo, we are at the mercy of Mom and her nutty ideas, since we neither know how to type or create “art.” Well, that isn’t entirely true. We can type. We just stink at spelling!

Enough about us! It is time for you do either trick or treat us depending on what your mom or dad required you to do when it came to your selfie. The link to add your Halloween or non-Halloween selfie, usie or groupie is below. Also below, you will find a link to a puzzle of this silly photo.

As a reminder, all anipals are invited and encouraged to join us, and the hop remain open through Thursday.

Remember to stay inside tonight and away from the door when your humans answer it to give out treats. It’s a good evening to stay UTB.

GHOSTLY HALLOWEEN ART

Caturday Art

ghostly Halloween

The art effect makes this look like Sawyer, but it is actually Kizmet. Last night she crawled under a fleece blanket I had over my legs and lap and settled between my legs. The photo is one of several I took at the time.

With tomorrow being Halloween, I used a seasonal effect, Ghostly Halloween, from Painnt. I changed the hue from grey to orange and added the hard light effect. The frame is from piZap.

Kizmet will be dropping over to Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s blog to join the Caturday Art blog hop. You can do the same by clicking on her badge.

I did create a puzzle for you.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Kitties Blue have agreed to post some selfies in virtual costumes tomorrow. If you have been following us for any length of time, you know our gang is not keen on “real” costumes. If you’d like to join in the fun, please do. Of course, it is not a requirement. But we think it is always fun to do something unique with our selfie photos.

There may be a lot of activity around your house on Sunday evening with trick-or-treaters, so we suggest getting you selfie snapped and posted early so you can have a good, long easy on Sunday afternoon.

See you tomorrow!

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #283

I am participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). This week I filled in all on my own and used teal italics to do so. Any additional explanatory info is in parentheses.

To participate, look for the sentences to be filled in on both blogs on Thursdays. To link up, click on the Fill-Ins badge.

1. My main concern right now is extending the time between Sawyer’s seizures.

2. I plan to wear cat ears for Halloween this year. (The only questions is, which ones?)

3. If I saw a ghost, I wouldn’t be surprised, but I sure would hope s/he was friendly.

4. This time of year, planting bulbs is a personal tradition of mine. (I hope to get some in the ground this weekend.)

A Belated Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Here’s this week’s inspiration photo for Angel Sammy and Teddy’s poetry challenge.

So, I  think this might make a good Halloween costume, as I cannot imagine anyone actually wearing this get-up on the street. I know it was designed for the runway and not to be sold, but…yikes! Anyhoo, I wrote a little haiku.

I always tell you to check out Angel Sammy’s poem by clicking on the poetry badge. This week, as I am posting my haiku a day late, I have already read his poem and can attest that it deserves an A+, 👍👍 and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Thanks for stopping by. Kitties Blue and I will be back tomorrow with some Caturday Art.

OODLES OF THANKFULS

Please accept our apologies for this late post. The reason is our
final thankful, which cut into Mom’s writing time. She’s old and got
tired and blurry eyed before she could finish this last night.

Sawyer Thankfuls

Wednesday a week ago sucked, as we eluded to in a previous post! Sawyer had an appointment with Dr. Neel but never made it there. He started biting and scratching Mom as soon as he saw the PTU. Dad wasn’t home to help. Once on the road, Mom hit a curb with her right front wheel and shredded her tire. As she had to wait for AAA, she had Chris come and pick Sawyer up and take him home. Mom had to reschedule Sawyer’s appointment for yesterday.

Mr. InnocentLuckily for Mom, Dad was home this time and got Sawyer in the PTU. Sawyer did not do his usual PTU pooping trick. And he was a purrfect gentleman for Dr. Neel. Now that was the trifecta of thankfuls.

Sawyer has been having seizures more often (every 7 to 10 days). His last one was Monday morning. So, he had blood drawn for a phenobarbital monitoring profile as well as an FeLV antigen and FIV antibody combo test. The final two checks were to make certain he did not pick up either disease during his walkabout.

We are so late with this post that Mom just heard from Dr. Neel. The FeLV and FIV tests were negative. Yippee! His liver and kidney function and glucose levels are all good. His pheno level was in the therapeutic range but has gone down several points. So we are going to up his dosage slightly. That’s definitely oodles of thankfuls!

Another thankful is for Sawyer’s weight gain. He weighed in at 9.1 pounds. After his walkabout he only weighed 6.88 pounds.

Giulietta Thankfuls

This note was on yesterday’s vet bill along with a charge of zero for Giulietta’s euthanasia.

The lack of a charge was nice, but the message truly touched our hearts.

The other thankful with reference to Giulietta can be seen in this photo.

We received the beautiful ornament/suncatcher (accompanied by the note) from Sharon, Noelle, Reesie and Raz (our family at Friends Furever). The note, written as if from Giulietta, made Mom tear up. Mom has hung the ornament above her head on the bed post, and we all now have Giulietta looking over us when we go to sleep at night. It’s a comforting feeling.

The Final Thankful

This is Mom and Dad’s thankful, and we are unsure how we feel about it. Last night they met with a possible new cat sitter. We love our Treat Lady Chris, but she cannot come four times a day to give Sawyer his meds. Mom has not been outside the city limits in three years, and she and Dad would like to go to Atlanta to spend Thanksgiving with Dad’s nephew and family.

The sitter’s name is Kit, and she is very nice. We all made an appearance and most of us hung out the entire time, especially Cooper and Kizmet. In fact, Kizmet made a fool of herself by kissing, head bonking and playing with Kit. Kitten’s have no self-restraint. Anyhoo, she only lives two blocks away and can handle the requirements with regard to Sawyer. This isn’t a done deal, but we expect we will be “fending for ourselves” for the holiday. Here’s hoping we can train this Kit person to be Treat Lady #2.

We are participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop at Brian’s Home. If you would like to do the same, click on his badge.

Apologies

Once again we must apologize to Angel Sammy and Teddy for not posting a poem today. Mom says she will try to have it for tomorrow’s post, but she’s not making any promises. Of course, she isn’t. She’s such a slacker! Sorry Mom, you know it’s true!

So that’s it for today.

THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CVI

If you received this post prematurely, Stinky & Periwinkle apologize. Must have been some Halloween goblins messing with things. Here is the complete post.

Visiting Walter and the Black Cats

Stinky is more excited than usual as today he and Periwinkle are visiting Walter and the black cats to deliver their annual Halloween “treats.” They visited last week to get Walter’s list of needs, and Stinky knows Periwinkle has been looking forward to delivering the items just as much as he has. As soon as Periwinkle comes tumbling out of the teleportation tunnel, she grabs Stinky’s paw. Without even a hug or a whisker kiss, she pulls him back into the tunnel, so they can get to Walter’s right away.

When they arrive, the two take a moment for some paw hugs and whisker kisses and to admire each other’s costumes, which Stinky has provided.

They notice a huge group of black kitties waiting for them on the back deck and Periwinkle exclaims, “Wow, Stinky, look it is an entirely new group of cats. Let’s go meet them.”

Walter black cats

When the cats see Periwinkle & Stinky, the cat in front speaks up. “All the kitties you met last year have been adopted. We are waiting for our forever homes after Halloween. We will be safe here until then. I was selected to introduce all of us. I am Onyx. The others are Blackie, Sooty, Smokey, Ebony, Coal, Inky, Jet, Raven, Bat Man, Shadow, Pepper, Smudge, Midnight, Ash, Salem and Stormy.”

“Those are such wonderful names,” Periwinkle tells them, and then all the black kitties share head bonks with Periwinkle and Stinky.

The Treats Arrive

Suddenly, all the felines hear multiple whooshes from the teleportation tunnel. When they look, they see numerous wagons filled with supplies come flying out. Instead of pulling the wagons themselves, Stinky had his mom load them after he and Periwinkle left for Walter’s and then send them through the tunnel.

“Holy cow,” gasps Onyx. “This is amazing. You two little cats are so generous. Thank you so much.”

“We cannot take all the credit. The Cat Scouts helped by donating lots of the items,” Stinky tells Onyx and the other cats.

“And the Tabby Cat Club helped as well,” says Periwinkle.

“We are all so lucky,” the black cats proclaim in unison. Onyx then invites Periwinkle and Stinky to come inside to meet the other new residents and have a snack. When they have eaten and visited with all the cats, it is time for Periwinkle and Stinky to head home.

The two tabbies share oodles of paw hugs and head bonks with Walter and the black cats before entering their tunnel.

Upon arriving at Stinky’s house, Periwinkle spends some time visiting with Stinky’s parents and fursibs. Finally it is time for Periwinkle to head back home. She and Stinky share lots of whisker kisses and paw hugs before she enters the tunnel and is gone in a whoosh.

Stinky retires to the catio for a nap and to dream of his beautiful and sweet girlfriend.

The End

Stinky and Periwinkle are participating in the Happy Tuesday blog hop at Comedy Plus.

ASTRID’S PROFILE SELFIE

Sunday Selfies:Week #375

It seems our mom has become obsessed with Halloween, which is most unusual for her. But, after Lisbeth’s Halloween-inspired art, yesterday, she has given me a Halloween frame for my selfie.

I hope you don’t mind that I took a profile photo for my selfie. Mom had me in her lap, and she tried to get me to look at the iPad. But like most of my housemates, except that little ham, Kizmet, I am not a fan of selfies.

I hope you will share your selfie with me and my fursibs as well as all your other friends. I am positive you took a better photo than I did.

Remembering Ruby

Our funny and adorable woofie friend, Ruby, has left us all on October 16 for the Rainbow Bridge. She was a long-time participant in our Sunday Selfies blog hop. We will miss her very much and remember her always. Run free, sweet girl.

You can visit Ruby’s blog, Ruby The Airedale, by clicking on her photo.

Wishing you all an Easy Sunday with sunpuddle naps and piles of treats.

PRE-HALLOWEEN TUXIE ART

Caturday Art

Lisbeth is pretty miffed about being photobombed yesterday. Consequently, I’m sharing another photo of her today for our Caturday Art. Unfortunately, I was unable to get her to look at me.

Halloween tuxie

To create Lisbeth’s art, I used the Birch Delight effect from Painnt with the hard light filter. I also changed the hue in order to get the orange color. The frame is from Favpng. I used the art to to create a puzzle for you.

Lisbeth will be hopping with Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty on her Caturday Art blog hop. To do the same, click on Athena’s badge.

Whose Tailio Was That?

We asked yesterday if you knew which of the Kitties Blue used their tailio to photobomb Lisbeth. The few who guessed said, “Kizmet.” You were correct. We thought some might guess Misty May or Astrid.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Oh boy, tomorrow is the day when all of the Kitties Blue friends drop by our blog hop and share their selfies with us. They know you don’t want to be left out, and they know you don’t want to miss having an Easy Sunday. So get those photos snapped now, and you’ll be ready to go first thing Sunday.

We’ll be remembering a special friend and hopper tomorrow: Ruby the Airedale. Beautiful Ruby went to the Rainbow Bridge on October 16. If you have not, but would like to leave condolences for Ruby’s family, click on the link.

See you tomorrow.

TAILIO PHOTOBOMB

Feline/Friendship Friday

Lisbeth volunteered to pose for a photo for Feline Friday with my promise of giving her some extra head rubbies and kisses. Unfortunately some other cat decided their tail was much more interesting!

If you think you know which of the Kitties Blue is the tailio photobomber, let us know in the comments. Hint: It’s not Sawyer. MOL!

Lisbeth and the photobomber’s tailio are participating in the Feline/Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy. You can do the same by clicking on the the appropriate badge(s).

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #282

I am participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). This week I filled in all on my own. I used teal italics to fill-in.

To participate, look for the sentences to be filled in on both blogs on Thursdays. To link up, click on the Fill-Ins badge.

1. My go-to place to purchase anything is Amazon. (It is just too darn convenient.)
2. Sunshine immediately improves my mood.
3. I think the bottom of the ocean is really spooky.
4. I wish I had a magical potion for Sawyer, so he would never have another seizure.

Please join us again tomorrow when we’ll share some Caturday Art.

TOCK-TOBER BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

Thankful Thursday

Hi friends,

It’s Cooper Murphy here. Mom had a horrendously terrible day yesterday, and so I offered to take over the blog today, as I have a fabulous thankful.

I got an e-mail from the vet yesterday wishing me a happy birthday. They used to always send an e-card, but haven’t done that in a long time. Neither Mom, Dad nor I knew they assigned me a birthdate when I first visited.

From now on I get to celebrate along with Angel Derby on Tock-Tober (October 20). How cool is that! I guessing the future I will need to proudly show off my mega-sized tocks on my birthday. But today, I will share my adorable face and toesies and wish myself a very happy belated birthday!

tock-tober birthday

Mom has the other thankful. Her nephew, Gene, came through heart surgery yesterday with a better than expected result. He’s in the ICU, but she talked to him, and he’s doing well. Here’s a picture of them from 2017. He lives in California and is a Captain with CalFire.

I am hopping over to Brian’s Home for Thankful Thursday. If you’d like to join me on the blog hop, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge.

That’s all we have for today. We send apologies to Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) that Mom did not write a poem today. Unfortunately that happens some weeks.

Purr & paw-pats, Cooper Murphy
