ANGEL MAURICIO: ONE YEAR GONE

Caturday Art

One year ago today, our wonderful Mauricio (Mau) became an angel and flew off to the Rainbow Bridge. He hadn’t been himself for a couple of weeks, but the vet could not find anything wrong with him.

Through the years, Dad Tom and I have lived with many terrific cats, but none was like Mau. He was a character and loved to tell us stories and just jabber, especially when carrying a toy in his mouth. Mau was always a happy cat. He loved his beautiful and sweet wife Allie as well as all humans and his fursibs.

When Mau passed, a light went out. Our home was too quiet and our hearts hurting.

When we adopted Kizmet in December, she brought some of the spark back; though, not one day goes by when we don’t think of or talk about our Mau.

To celebrate and remember Mau as well as help out Kizmet in her quest to win the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Superheroes Sidekick Calendar Contest, we are having a comment-a-thon. I will donate $1 for every comment on today’s post (made prior to Monday the 19th at 5 p.m. ET) in order to add votes to Kizmet’s pursuit. She is currently in third place.

Mau is participating in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. If you’d like to do the same, click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

We will be having our blog hop tomorrow, and all the Kitties Blue have their paws crossed that you will join in the fun. All anipals are welcome regardless of species. This is a great place to meet and make new friends whether furred, finned or feathered.

Tomorrow we also will be remembering two friends who recently gained their angel wings: Clooney (Clooney’s Num Num Fund) and Finley Rose (Lone Star Cats).
