GIULIETTA’S TONGUE-OUT SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #338

TONGUE-OUT

I know I don’t stop by here very often. I’m not really much of a socializer with the other Kitties Blue since my sisfur Fiona passed away. I like to sleep on one of the two hammocks Mom put in front of downstair’s radiators. I like to sit in my dad’s lap in the kitchen. And I like to fur up the living room chairs, which is where I was when I snapped my selfie.

I thought it would be fun to not only show off my super duper large feeties but also my super duper long tongue. Normally I make Mom remove the freckle in my right eye. As it has gotten bigger, it has morphed into a heart shape, so I told her to leave it.

I hope you will join me today by sharing your selfie and participating in the blog hop. We always look forward to seeing your precious faces and appreciate your support.

Purrs and paw-pats, Giulietta

STARRY CLIPS ART

Caturday Art

Starry Clips

Calista Jo is snuggling among the covers on the bed in this photo. To turn it into art I used the Starry Clips effect from Painnt and a border from piZap.

Caturday Art is a blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. If you would like to participate along with Calista Jo, click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Giulietta stepped up and volunteered to be your host tomorrow for Sunday Selfies. Most of you know this is a huge, as she appears here so seldom. And she has a super special selfie for you.

Giulietta and all the Kitties Blue have their paws crossed that you will join in the fun by posting a selfie and hopping with them.

FRIDAY BLOG HOPS & KIZMET

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #244

Time for those fill-ins hosted each week by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). I used teal italics for my fill-ins. Explanatory info is in parentheses. Two weeks ago, I used my fill-in for this week’s #4 for another fill-in. Sorry, but it was appropriate again here.

Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop. You can find the sentences to be filled in on both blogs on Thursdays. And you can join the hop by clicking on the badge at left.

1. So far 2021 is okay! (Kizmet is keeping us amused, and Dad Tom and I have appointments for our first dose of the COVID vaccine on Saturday.)

2. A book title that best describes my life is The Cats’ House by Bob Walker.

3. Discovering Janet (now Kizmet) on PetFinder was a pleasant surprise.

4. I learned that taking a bath with a cat is a recipe for disaster.

Feline/Friendship Friday

Kizmet

This is the only time I have seen Kizmet less than joyous. She was wearing the harness we purchased for her. She walked around in it as if she’d broken her front legs. She’ll have a little more time in it for day two tomorrow and a little more time each day after that.

Kizmet is participating in the Feline Friday and Friendship Friday blog hops. To join her, click on the appropriate badge(s) below.

ABANDONED POEM & THANKFULS

Sorry for the late posting. It’s Sawyer’s fault, but I’m not blaming him…just his stupid seizure disorder, which struck twice yesterday.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

I am not particularly happy with today’s poem. It went through several rewrites and two different endings until I finally gave up. The poet/instructor of a poetry class I took back in the 80s told us that very few poems are ever truly finished but merely abandoned. Alas…that is what happened to this one.

Here’s the inspiration photo from one of my very favorite episodes of the “I Love Lucy” television show.

When Too Much of a Good Thing Could Be Bad

Candy is definitely dandy,
And a chef’s hat is handy
To conceal what you cannot eat
For a later yummy treat.

Just beware of sweating,
Or that candy will be melting
Giving away your hiding place
And causing you some disgrace.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is hosted each week by Angel Sammy and Teddy from Two Spoiled Cats. They provide the inspiration photo, and participants provide a poem. Pop on over to their blog to find next week’s inspiration photo and Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge, and it is always terrific.

Thankful Thursday

Dad Tom and I are thankful to remain virus free and on a waiting list for the COVID vaccine.

We continue to count our blessings for Kizmet. She’s a character, a clown, a lover and a bright spot amid otherwise gloomy days.

I am thankful for the dusting of snow last night that gave us this view from our bedroom window.

We are supposed to get some additional snow showers later this morning, and the temperature isn’t supposed to get above freezing. Unfortunately the wind is supposed to pick up, which will blow the snow from the branches.

This is my kind of snow…just a light dusting that turns everything into a winter wonderland, but not enough to be a problem.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. If you would like to participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to visit his blog and link up.

We’ll see you tomorrow for Fill-Ins and Feline and Friendship Fridays.

KRAZY KITTEN KIZMET’S TOESIES & TAILIO

Awww Mondays

I usually begin our Monday post with Sparks. A kitten as awww-adorable as Kizmet, however, definitely required a change in focus for today.

Sparks

Dad Tom and I and most of our friends are in the seventh decade of our lives. I think it is important not to fritter away the time we have left. That’s why this saying, which I found in the Happy Color app, spoke to me. We all should attempt to live our best lives everyday no matter our age. I am guilty of not doing this, so this will be my reminder.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks,“I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Your favorite, fun-loving tabbies will be sharing another of their adventures tomorrow. Please stop by Friends Furever to see what the heck they get up to or into…it’s bound to be something fun and maybe even exciting.

MISTY MAY’S MIFFED

Sunday Selfies: Week #337

MIFFED MISTY MAY

Unlike the new kid at our house, I am not in love with either the camera or the cell phone. Nor am I a fan of taking selfies. So, this is the best you get…me looking away and wearing a miffed expression.

Though I am not a great selfie taker, I am a big fan of seeing your selfies. So, please join our blog hop by adding your selfie below. If you are unable to participate today, you can join anytime before midnight Thursday.

All my fursibs and I thank you for your support and continued interest in hopping with us. Have a great easy Sunday.

COLORFUL DUO

Caturday Art

When we adopted Kizmet, my hope was she would become a friend for Sawyer. The poor guy has tried to get Calista Jo to play with him forever! But she turns on him and growls whenever he tries. Since Kizmet has arrived the two have enjoyed chasing each other through the house and playing the Mouse game together on the iPad.

But finding them snuggled together last night was a first!

I used the Color Seahorses effect from Painnt to create the art and added the border with piZap. And I made a jigsaw puzzle for all the fans of that pastime.

I am sharing the original photo as well, as these two are just so darn cute.

Kizmet and Sawyer are popping over to the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. If you’d like to join them or check out the art created by your fellow bloggers, click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Some cat will be here to host our selfies blog hop tomorrow. As you can see from the above photo, Kizmet still loves posing for a photo, so you could see her again tomorrow.

Next time she does appear, I will share more about her personality and actions. She is a character and a blessing!

A SQUIRRELLY POEM & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

We are here with a poem for Angel Sammy and Teddy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge. The inspiration photo they selected for us today definitely elicited an “awww” from me. Kitties Blue are great fans of the squirrels at our house, as they provide them with hours of entertainment.

When the Kids Move Back Home

Hey, quit hogging all the space.
This is my resting place.
Go build your own nests;
You two are huge pests.
When you first moved away,
I expected you to stay…
Not come home and move back in
After all you are now grown men.

If you’d like to try writing poetry, click on the badge below to visit Two Spoiled Cats. You’ll find the inspiration photo for next week. While there, make certain to read the poem written by Angel Sammy. He transmits it to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge each week, and he is a meowvolous poet.

Thankful Thursday

In addition to writing a poem on Thursday, we also share our thankfuls with you and join the blog hop at Brian’s Home.

I have one thankful this week that outweighs all others. I am thankful for the return to sanity in our Nation’s Capitol with the inauguration of Joesph R. Biden and Kamala D. Harris as our new President and Vice President. May our country begin to heal.

I remain broken-hearted over the more than 400,000 of our citizens who have lost their lives to the coronavirus. Though I do not expect to be able to get a vaccine anytime soon, I am thankful that it is out there and eventually will be available to all who want it.

Finally, I am thankful for the support and friendship of those who follow us. May you all remain safe and healthy in 2021.

To participate in the blog hop, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to share your thankfuls with him and join the hop.

Gratuitous Cat Photo

This being a cat blog, I felt impelled to share a photo of one of the Kitties Blue.
