KITTY CHRISTMAS TREE ART

Caturday Art

With Christmas being less than a week away, I decided to do a little something different for art today.

I simply added some cutouts of Kitties Blue as ornaments to this picture I colored using the Happy Color app.

I hadn’t made a puzzle for you in a super long time, so I have made one for you today. Click on the image to go to Jigsaw planet and solve the puzzle.

Whether or not you plan to post a selfie tomorrow and join our blog hop, you must drop by and see us. We are going to have an extra special, super duper post that you will not want to miss! We do hope, however, you will decide to join us with a selfie of your own. Until then, have a terrific Caturday!

MISTY MAY SNUGGLES WITH DAD & FILL-INS

Feline/Friendship Friday

snuggles

Misty May adores her dad. She would never allow me to hold her like this! She prefers to lie on my head or face when we go to bed. I’d be happy to trade places with him.

Misty May is participating in the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus and Friendship Friday blog hop at Create with Joy. Click on the appropriate badge or badges to join her on either or both hops.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #238

Time for those fill-ins hosted each week by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). I have tackled them all by myself this week. My fill-ins are in teal italics.

1. My favorite kind of homemade cookie is snickerdoodle.

2. I’m a big fan of the actor, Hugh Jackman.

3. I look most forward to Christmas lights and decorations during the holiday season.

4. Taking down and packing up all the decorations is my least favorite thing about the holiday season.

Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop. You can find the sentences to be filled in on both blogs on Thursdays. And you can join the hop by clicking on the badge below.

EARLY CHRISTMAS THANKFULS

Thankful Thursday

With more than a week remaining until Christmas, I am thankful to have gifts in the mail. They are all scheduled to arrive well before Christmas. Yippee! Cooper Murphy is thankful I finished his Cat Scouts cards and mailed them ages ago. All the decorating is finished. I now can finish writing cards for Kitties Blue, making some goodies for a few neighbors, wrapping Dad Tom’s gifts and writing our Christmas newsletter. With this pandemic I have been able to accomplish more and complete holiday projects earlier than any other time in my life. That feels so good, and it means I actually will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the holiday with Dad Tom and the kitties.

Lisbeth is thankful for the Christmas Tree bed, a gift to the kitties last year from our friend, Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). I was super surprised to find her in it on Tuesday after she finished toasting her nose on the radiator (see yesterday’s post). If you’d like to see her in the bed last Christmas as well, click here.

Christmas

All of us are thankful yesterday’s winter storm, only brought us 1/4 inch of ice and a sprinkling of snow. We pray that those who are receiving lots of wind and snow from this storm remain safe.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. If you would like to participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful. Then click on his badge to go to his blog and enter your link.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

As Kitties Blue and I do most Thursdays, we are joining Thoroughly Poetic Thursday hosted by Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). They provide an inspiration photo, and participants write a poem based on the photo. The photo is below and the haiku I wrote for this week.

In quiet repose
Reflecting on life’s meaning
At peace with nature

If you’d like to find next week’s inspiration photo, click on the link to Two Spoiled Cats in the second paragraph under the Thankful Thursday heading. And while visiting, please check out Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge, and it is always a winner.

See you tomorrow for Feline Friday and Friendly Fill-Ins.

SPARKS & AN ANGEL SANTA

Sparks

Though this kitty definitely looks to be taking the holidays in stride, I think this Spark is a good reminder for all of us who share our homes with furry friends.

The author of today’s Spark is Justin Scott Hartley. He is a 43-year-old, American actor. Since 2016, he has starred in the NBC drama series “This Is Us,” for which he was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

In all honesty, I must divulge that Hartley began his quote with, “I am a dog lover.” Being a cat blog, I made a decision to leave that part off.

As I’ve been reminding you for months, Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks,“I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Awww Mondays

I delved into the archives for today’s Awww Mondays blog hop submission. This photo is from December 21, 2019. I think you’ll recognize the handsome man cat playing Santa is this photo.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Your two favorite tabbies will be off on another adventure tomorrow. I cannot wait to see what they get up to or into. I’ll be checking them out over at Friends Furever. I know they’ll be hoping to see you there as well.

REMEMBERING NEWEST ANGELS

Sunday Selfies: Week #331

Sorry for the fuzzy selfie today. I was sitting on Mom when I snapped my photo, and I was having a hard time getting it arranged so she wasn’t in the photo. But I am here today merely as your host.

Our post today is dedicated to three friends who received their angel wings in the past few days. It is always sad to lose friends but even more so during the holidays.

Please join Kitties Blue as we remember and honor, Gracie, Jinx and Dezi. If you click on their badges, you will be able to visit their blogs and leave your condolences if you have not already done so.

You three new angels will be missed and never forgotten, and we will all meet again. Until then, we know you will be watching over your family and friends.

Hopping Time

Please help us remember our friends by hopping along with us today. You have through Thursday to add your link to the hop, and it is not necessary to post today to take part. All the Kitties Blue love seeing your cutie-pie faces each week.

Thanks to all who follow and support us. We wouldn’t be here without you!

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid

COOPER MURPHY IN REPOSE

Caturday Art

Cooper Murphy

Cooper Murphy is the subject of today’s Caturday Art. The photo was taken by Dad Tom while Cooper was snoozing on the radiator cover in the living room. It is a favorite spot of several of the Kitties Blue.

I returned to the Painnt app again and used the Mermaid effect. The hue was blue, which I changed to this “reddish” color to be more representative of the holiday season. I also added the Soft Light filter. The scroll border is from piZap.

Cooper Murphy is participating in the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. If you’d like to join him, click on her badge.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #237

We missed fill-ins yesterday, so are posting them today. Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by our friends, Ellen from 15 And Meowing and Lorianne from Four-Legged Furballs. I have filled-in with my usual teal italics.

1. My favorite Christmas gift is a new Christopher Radko Muffy VanderBear ornament for the tree.

2. This holiday season I will miss seeing friends.

3. I would like Santa to bring us a black or grey kitten (or one of each).

4. You might find cats under my Christmas tree this year. (Of course, that is no different than every other year since the mid-80s.)

Discount Code

Yesterday, Kitties Blue and I reviewed a terrific Yaheetech cat tree and gave you a 25% off discount code (JANET25) for any product (including non-catcentric items) from their web-site. So check out yesterday’s post and their site.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Can you believe we are less than two weeks away from Christmas and less than three weeks from 2021. Though time has seemed to drag during the pandemic and quarantines, another year has sped past. That means we only have a few more opportunities for selfies in 2020, and you know you don’t want to miss out. So, this is your early warning to get those selfies snapped and posted bright and early tomorrow morning. After all you wouldn’t want to lose out on any nap time under the Christmas tree.

We also will be honoring our friends Jinx (15 And Meowing) and Gracie (Animal Shelter Volunteer Life), who received their angel wings this week and flew off to the Rainbow Bridge.

Thanks for your support. See you tomorrow!

YAHEETECH CAT TREE REVIEW & DISCOUNT CODE

Yaheetech Cat Tree Review

Have you been searching for the perfect present for that special kitty on your gift list? Have you considered a new cat tree? Even if you haven’t, we know your cat or cats, as in our case, would be delighted to get one. With this in mind, Kitties Blue suggest and recommend you check out the ones from Yaheetech.

They have 11 different styles on their web-site, ranging in height from 36 to 79 inches and with a variety of configurations and colors. We were allowed to select which one we wanted to try out for our review and selected the 57-inch multi-level cat tree for medium to large cats in dark gray, to match the decor of our bedroom, which is where the tree resides.

Lisbeth was the first to test out the Yaheetech cat tree.

Specifics of This Tree

This is the first tree we have had that is covered in a plush, velour-like fabric, instead of carpet. I had always shied away from these types of trees assuming the fabric would not be as durable or stand up to claws the way carpet does. I was wrong. It is extremely durable. I know the gang are enjoying the softer, snuggly feel as well.

This is an attractive tree with the cutest little cat ears on the pedestal beds. And it is very sturdy with solid construction and features a large baseboard. The tree also comes with a wall anchor strap to attach the cat tree to the wall for extra stability. Though, the tree is a favorite of our heavy-weights, Calista Jo and 20-pound Cooper Murphy; we have not needed to use this.

Cooper Murphy demonstrates the sturdiness of the Yaheetech cat tree.

Along with the two bed-type perches, there are two cubbies/condos, (one small round and one large rectangle) a hammock, a rope toy, six sisal scratching posts, which are used daily by our gang, and two ball toys on elastic cords. On every other cat tree I have purchased, the toys have been stapled to the tree and have been pulled off within a day. I am impressed to see that the elastic cord on the Yaheetech tree is tied to a screw eye. Calista Jo pulled one of the balls off the first day. I retied it a bit more securely; it has remained in place, and she has played with it quite vigorously, as she demonstrates in these photos.

One of the things that concerned me about this tree was the hammock at the bottom. I believe it would be a tight fit for most of my gang, and none have yet to try it. However, I believe it would be perfect for a kitten or small cat, like our Sawyer, Astrid or Misty May.

In conclusion, I give this cat tree five stars and the Kitties Blue each give it four paws up. I definitely will order a Yaheetech cat tree when Kitties Blue are in need of one to replace one of our older cat trees.

Trees range in price from $59.99 to $99.99 and can be purchased on the Yaheetech web-site. Visit Yaheetech here for a complete description and all the specifics about each available cat tree.

Discount Code

Yaheetech cat trees are available from other on-line retailers, but Yaheetech is offering a discount if you order from their site. Yaheetech has a 25 percent off discount code for our readers. It is good for any product on their web-site, which includes much more than cat trees and pet-centric items. The code is Janet25.

Disclaimer: Kitties Blue received our Yaheetech cat tree free of charge in exchange for our fair and honest review, and we thank them for this great product!

KITTIES CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

Thankful Thursday

Every Thursday Kitties Blue and I join the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. This week, I have the biggest thankful.

Last Friday I got out of my boot. I can wear regular (sturdy) shoes now. I also got back on the Peloton (woohoo) for the first time on Tuesday. That is something for which I am hugely thankful. It is my stress reliever. After seven weeks, it is like I am starting from scratch, but that’s okay. Being at the end of this ordeal is worth a huge thankful.

Kitties Christmas

Calista Jo gives a preview of the Yaheetech cat tree.

Kitties Blue are thankful for their new Yaheetech cat tree. They have had it for a couple of weeks now, and they will be reviewing it tomorrow. It would be a great gift for any kitty family. So, check out our review tomorrow to find out more.

If you’d like to participate in the blog hop, post on your blog for what you are thankful, and then click on Brian’s badge.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Our good friends, Angle Sammy and Teddy, host a poetry challenge each Thursday, and we try to participate each week. They provide an inspiration photo for our poem. This week’s photo and Kitties Blue poem are below.

Kitties Christmas

Kitties Christmas Wish List

Santa has his list and he’s checking it twice.
We’re certain he’ll find we have all been nice,
And he’ll fill up our stockings with lots of treats
And maybe some cans of Friskies and Fancy Feast!
We also hope the elves are making us some toys.
Cats like fun things too—just like girls and boys.
We’d also like to find some nip in our stockings,
So that after feasting we can do some frolicking.
Santa, please also bring our friends some goodies
Especially if you want us to leave you milk and cookies!
Remember that Christmas is just two weeks away,
So, Santa, please get busy filling up your sleigh!
