AUTUMN GRANDEUR & THANKFUL THURSDAY

Thankful Thursday

I am super thankful the Presidential election has concluded, even if we won’t know the results for a while. I am even more thankful I won’t have to listen to any more political advertisements. Having this contentious election combined with the pandemic has been almost more than I can tolerate.

I am thankful as well to be less than 48 hours from getting this humongous dressing off my foot and getting my stitches removed. My hope is for something smaller that will allow me to get into an orthopedic boot.

Of course, I remain thankful that Dad Tom and I remain virus free.

Kitties Blue and I are participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop at Brian’s Home. If you’d like to join us, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to go to his blog and enter your link.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Time for our weekly poem inspired by a photo provided by Teddy and Angel Sammy from Two Spoiled Cats.

THANKFUL

Autumn color was spectacular this year; though, I saw little of it due to my surgery. And after several recent windy days, most of the tress are now bare. So I found this photo particularly appealing.

Autumn Grandeur

The golden iridescence of fall
In its peace and beauty
beckons me to stop and reflect
before winter comes to call.

When autumn colors turn to grey
and brown announcing winter’s arrival,
I count the days until spring
When earth’s renewal begins again.
