COOPER MURPHY’S CAT SCOUTS THANKFULS

Thankful Thursday

We have much for which to be thankful today; though, so much sadness has overtaken our lives lately.

Cooper Murphy asked to begin. He is thankful for his time at Summer Camp with his Scout friends. Cooper was runner-up in the boat race in his laundry basket boat, SV Angel Mau.

He and his two Gingersnap pals, Teddy and Chip, were all purrmoted to the rank of Lion, and he and Teddy were officially announced as the new co-leaders of the Wildcats Troop. They will be following in the paws of their big brothers, Angel Scout Mau and Angel Scout Teddy. Both served as Troop Leader.

The Scouts had two craft projects at Camp, and Cooper wanted to show you the tin he decorated for his mini Emergency Kit. He included a picture of Mau own the inside cover, as he considers his big bro to be his Scout spirit guide. Cooper will share his memory board project in another post.

Dad Tom and I have a giant thankful. We are grateful to Cat Scouts Denmaster (Karen Nichols) who painted this super picture of Cat Scout Mau and gifted it to us. Of course, seeing it was the reason for shedding more tears.

Of course, I am grateful for not being stuck in the hospital for more than one day; though, I have no more answers now than I did before that unpleasant experience.

As always, we are grateful for all our friends, followers and supporters, especially all those who left comments on our blog and at Friends Forever on Allie leaving for the Rainbow Bridge.

Kitties Blue and I are joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. To join us, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on the badge to hop over to Brian’s and enter your link.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Our pals at Two Spoiled Cats, Angel Sammy and Teddy, are hosting their usual Thursday poetry challenge. The inspiration photo for this week and my poem are below. I apologize that I have written a rather melancholy poem to accompany this photo of a beautiful place.

The Cycle of Life

Ghosts glide and float in my garden.
I feel them around me when I walk there.
They remain from happier days when
parties and celebrations were abundant.
The spirits are happy and laughing,
Yet sad that those days have passed.
I live alone now…tired, old and frail—
No family or friends to come for a party
Or even just a cup of tea and a biscuit.
The gardner tends the old Floribunda roses,
Leaves bouquets for me by the door.
The alluring aroma permeates the house.
Like the ghosts, it makes me wish
For my youth and the frivolity enjoyed
On weekends and summer nights, but
My memories no longer soothe my soul.
Soon I will leave this place and life.
Others will inhabit my home and garden
And the cycle will begin once again.

If you would like to participate in the poetry challenge, click on the poetry badge. While visiting Angel Sammy and Teddy, make certain to read Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge, and it is always a winner.
