RAINBOW ASTRID

Caturday Art

The subject of today’s art is Astrid in a photo from June 17, 2017. I selected it, as I liked her wide-eyed expression.

As I do most weeks, I used Painnt and piZap to create today’s art. I used the Kindling III effect from Painnt and the Flux filter from piZap.

Astrid is joining Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty on her Caturday Art blog hop. If you’d like to do the same, click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Tomorrow is an important day for most of us: Father’s Day. It is also National Selfie Day, which I had never heard about until a few days ago. If you’d like to share a selfie of you and your dad, that would be really cool. But, of course, that is not mandatory for you to join in the fun. We know you’ll want to spend most of the day loving on and playing with your dad, so get those selfies taken today. Then you’ll have the entire day tomorrow for dad.

We want to extend our thanks to all those who join our hop weekly or even just occasionally. We love seeing your adorable faces each week. And, of course, newbies are always welcome.

Have a great Caturday and first day of summer, and we’ll see you tomorrow.

INTERNATIONAL BOX DAY 2020 & FILL-INS

International Box Day

As cats, we all know the value of a good box. And if one is good, multiples are even better. See for yourselves.

International Box Day

Keep away and feign disinterest.

Cooper Murphy wins the standoff.

Boxes are nice, but boxes with treats are better.

Lisbeth, Sawyer, Cooper Murphy, Astrid and Mau not only enjoy treats and boxes, but they also enjoy joining the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus. You can do the same by clicking on the Feline Friday badge and entering the link to your post.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #213

It’s time for the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). The sentences to be filled in can be found each Thursday on both their blogs. Post your completed fill-ins on Friday. To enter the blog hop, click on the badge at the left. It will take you to Four-Legged Furballs.

I did all the fill-ins this week with no help from Kitties Blue. My completions are in teal italics.

1. Sunshine motivates me to work outside in our flower beds.

2. I put salt on eggs, potatoes and tomatoes.

3. When it comes to taking care of Kitties Blue and their health, I don’t cut corners.

4. Never forget black lives matter, in fact all lives matter.

CATS, FAIRIES & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

We are back with another poem today for the Two Spoiled Cats, Teddy and Angel Sammy’s, weekly poetry challenge. The inspiration photo they provided along with my poem are below. If you look closely at the photo, you may notice I tampered with it slightly. I have my fingers crossed Teddy and Angel Sammy won’t mind too much.

Cats & Fairies

Here’s another secret and magical place,
Where fairies Iike to romp and sing all day.
They are hiding now, as they know
Someone is lurking and might steal their glow.
Humans are not often welcome here,
But cats can drop by if they stay clear
And sit quietly except for soft purrs,
Which even fairies find relaxing and a cure
For the stressful lives they often lead,
Spending hours hiding so not to be seen.
Fairies and cats always go hand in paw,
As cats protect their tiny friends tooth and claw.
If you find your cat in a sunpuddle, softly purring,
They may be guarding their friends but not interfering.
Remember to always walk quietly through this magical place,
So the hidden fairies not to frighten or displace.

If you’d like to participate in Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, you can find the inspiration photo for today as well as next Thursday over at Two Spoiled Cats. Angel Sammy transmits it and his poem to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge. To go there now, click on the badge below. And while visiting make certain to read Sammy’s poem as well as check out the Comments. Other bloggers leave their poems or links to their poems there.

Thankful Thursday

We remain thankful that, as far as we know, all our family and friends remain virus free. As states reopen, please do not become complacent. Continue to follow CDC guidelines and stay safe. Each of you is important to us.

We received a “Right Guesser” badge from Two Spoiled Cats’ Tuesday Teaser. We weren’t first to guess correctly, but that’s okay.

Another thankful: We haven’t floated away. Nearly six inches (as of Wednesday night) of rain has fallen in the past couple of days. We are over the normal amount of rainfall for this time of year by 15 inches. It is currently raining heavily and more rain is in the forecast for the next week.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on the badge below to go to Brian’s Home blog to add the link to your post.

See you all tomorrow for one of Kitties Blue favorite holidays: International Box Day.

MISTAKES & CATNIP

Sparks

I have nothing profound to add to this. It just appealed to me, as it reminded me we should never be afraid to try new things. And with being basically stuck in limbo, I cannot think of a better time.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!

Awww Mondays

I’ve been growing a couple pots of catnip out of the reach of the Kitties Blue crew, so that it would actually have the opportunity to grow. Yesterday Dad Tom moved one of the pots onto the catio. This is what happened.

Mau almost destroyed the plant prior to me tearing a leaf off the plant for each cat.

Mau and Cooper Murphy are joining the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. To participate click on the badge below.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

This fun-loving, tabby duo will return tomorrow with the next installment in their adventure series. It is Periwinkle’s week to post, so look for them over at Friends Furever. I know both Periwinkle and Stinky will be looking forward to seeing you there tomorrow.

MISTY MAY’S MOUTHING OFF AGAIN SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #305

For some reason the original of this post would not show up, so I have copied the contents into a new post, which is why you have gotten a second notification in your mailbox.

Since she lost her hearing Misty May is rarely silent, unless she is eating or sleeping. And she doesn’t just whisper or mumble; she caterwauls.

When asked to take a selfie, she had a strong negative opinion. Nonetheless, she did consent.

Hopping Time

Misty May invites you to join her by snapping a selfie, posting it and then adding your link below. And if you can include our badge in your post or link beck to The Cat on My Head, she and all her fursibs would be very grateful. Once you are finished, find a sunpuddle, lie back and have a good easy.

Most importantly, make certain your humans behave themselves and stay healthy.

Thanks for being hoppers.

COOPER SUNFLOWER MURPHY

Caturday Art

Today’s art was created using one of Dad Tom’s photos of a sunflower in our backyard and a photo of Cooper Murphy. I used PicMonkey to create it. Though it didn’t turn out like I wanted, I still like it. I hope you do as well.

Cooper is participating in the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. To join him and/or check out Athena’s art and that of other bloggers, click on her badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Smile…it’s selfie time! We invite you to share your adorableness with us and all your friends on tomorrow’s blog hop. Once you have finished snapping your photo, you have the entire day to take your easy. Kitties Blue and I totally appreciate each one of you who hop with us. And if you have never shared your selfie with us, why not give it a try tomorrow. Hopping is one of the best ways to meet and make new friends.

See you Sunday!

CATIO NAPS & BATHS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #212

When I saw the fill-ins for this week, my brain went blank. So, I decided to show them to the Kitties Blue crew and see if one or more of them wanted to tackle completing the sentences. Sawyer took one look and raised his paw to volunteer. Boy was I relieved.

Sawyer selected blue italics to fill-in. Explanatory info is in parentheses.

1. June is a good month to nap on the catio as well as watch the busy birds and squirrels.

2. I love to play with Calista Jo, but she never wants to play with me. (She hisses and growls and sometimes will swat at me.)

3. I’m not ashamed to admit I like treats. (Of course, you already know this.)

4. I’d rather not have any more seizures. (I had a seizure Wednesday evening, which was eight days since the last one. That’s really not too bad.)

Friendly Fill-Ins is co-hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). The sentences to be filled in are posted on both blogs on Thursday. The blog hop can be found at Four-Legged Furballs on Fridays. To go there and enter your link, click on the Fill-Ins badge.

Feline Friday

Do your cats lie on the table and bathe? In Cooper Murphy’s defense, this table is on the catio, and we had finished lunch. We lost control so long ago, we have given up trying to wrestle it back. I suspect we are not alone in this respect.

Cooper Murphy and his tongue are joining the Feline Friday bog hop at Comedy Plus. Should you like to participate or find links to other Feline Friday posts, click on the Feline Friday badge.

BUILDING BLOWS ITS TOP; MAU & COOP GRADUATE FROM CSU

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

If it’s Thursday, that means it is poetry day. We are joining our good friends from Two Spoiled Cats, Teddy and Angel Sammy, who host this fun event. They provide an inspiration photo as the jumping off place for our imaginations and poems. This week’s photo, which was provided to the boys by Little Binky and her granny, is a doozy.

I had a difficult time writing a poem that does this photo blooper justice, and I know it’s not my best effort. Hope you enjoy it anyway.

Headline: Building Blows It’s Top

Looks like this building blew its top
Or did it grow gaseous and pop?
Can we put it together again
Or is that a dream we can’t attain?
The residents on the upper floors
Are stuck behind their closed doors
And must crawl out their windows.
If it can be put right, we’ll be heroes.
But I fear this building’s fate is sealed,
And it’s too far gone to be healed.

Thankful Thursday

Mau and Cooper Murphy are thankful to have completed all the requirements to graduate with honors from Cat Scout University. Dad Tom and I are super proud of them!

Mom is thankful she is finally getting to see two of her friends this week. This is the first time in four months she has seen any friends in person. She’s happy they all followed the rules and remained healthy, so they can now get together.

We all are thankful that our friends and family remain virus free. Please follow the guidelines of your state and the CDC and stay healthy. You are important to us.

Brian is the host of the Thankful Thursday blog hop. To take part, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to go to his blog and enter the link to your post.
