AFFIRMATIONS & COOPER’S BELLY

Sparks

affirmations

I have a friend in California who regularly e-mails me affirmations. This is one of them. I find it to be a good reminder, and I hope each of you will as well.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie has been taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Unfortunately, during this break, Annie has been the victim of a hacker. This has continued to keep her off-line and caused her much distress. Kitties Blue and I ask for your continued prayers for Annie and her family as they try to reconcile this mess and get their lives back to normal.

Many of us believe in Annie’s vision: “If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

Awww Mondays

I cannot think of anything more awww worthy than Cooper Murphy, and I know Sandee, the host of Awww Mondays, agrees.

Cooper Murphy is hopping at Comedy Plus. Click on the badge below to join him.

FELIZ CINCO DE MEOW TWO-FUR

Sunday Selfies: Week #247

Our two youngsters decided to give you a two-fur today for our Sunday Selfies blog hop. I helped them make their photo more festive to celebrate Cinco de Mayo or Meow, as we prefer.

Cinco de Mayo

The boys both look rather grumpy for which they apologize. They weren’t upset at having to take a two-fur photo; the sun was in their eyes. They are on the catio on the new cat tree.

As soon as you hop over here and post your selfie, you can indulge in a couple of meowgaritas and have a nice easy for the remainder of the day.

Hopping Time

Here are those hopping tips we provide each week.

  • The link to add your selfie to the hop is below.
  • You also will find below the code to use if you’d like the hop to appear on your blog.
  • Posting on Sundays is not necessary to join.
  • You do not need to be a cat to enter. All anipals are welcome regardless of species.
  • The hop remains open for entries through Thursday midnight.
  • Please be so kind as to display our badge and/or link to The Cat on My Head.
  • Take the opportunity to visit some of the other hop-alongs and make some new friends or reconnect with some old ones.

Thanks for hopping over to see us. If you are new to our hop, WELCOME! Please come back each week.

FISHY CAT ART

Caturday Art

Astrid is here today to join Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty on her blog hop. Astrid was tucked into Lisbeth’s fish bed, which she received from her boy friend, Cat Scout Charles. Both the girls use the bed; though, Astrid fits inside better.

Caturday Art Amsterdam

To create the art, I used the Amsterdam filter in Painnt, followed by the ScrapZ texture and an opaque, black floral border from piZap.

Here’s the original photo with a tighter crop.

Astrid Update

Those of you who follow us regularly know that Astrid is a timid cat. This is the result of bullying by Misty May. Lately Misty May has been paying less and less attention to Astrid. My theory is that since Misty May can no longer hear Astrid squeal when she chases after her, she has lost interest.

As a result, Astrid is gaining back some of her mojo. She’s been joining us in bed in the morning and snuggling with me. She’ll also come upstairs in the afternoon when I try to take a break to do some reading. She curls into my lap and turns up her purr to high. She even has joined us a few times at night when Misty May is sleeping and not aware of her presence. This brings me so much joy as I know it does Astrid as well.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

As tomorrow is Cinco de Meow, I am certain whichever of the Kitties Blue ends up being your host for the blog hop, s/he will be doing a little celebrating for the holiday. You are invited to dress up in a costume (either in the fur or virtually) or just put a fancy frame around your photo. Of course, this is not a requirement to join the hop…just a suggestion. Whatever you decide, we look forward to seeing you on the hop.

REALITY SHOW HOMEBODY

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #155

Friendly Fill-Ins is a fun blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 and Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). Each Thursday, they post four sentences with blanks to be filled in by participants. The hop is held on Fridays at Four-Legged Furballs. To participate click on the badge at the left.

My completions are in teal italics.

1. 13 years ago, I was still in charge of training, supervising and assigning the International Scorekeepers for USA Volleyball, a position I held from 1996 through 2008.

2. By this time next year, I hope to have this *%&$ing construction project behind us.

3. One word that describes me is homebody. Though either Dad Tom or I need to be home almost full-time due to Sawyer’s seizures and med schedule, I am totally happy to stay home and rarely go out anywhere.

4. If my life were a book or movie, it would be in the live-action unscripted (aka Reality) genre. What else could it be? I live with eight cats!

Feline Friday

Sawyer is snoozing soundly, so he has no idea he’s entering the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus. I won’t tell him if y’all don’t. If you’d like to join him, click on the badge beneath his photo.

GRATITUDE

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Teddy, Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) and their mom, Pam, continue to find incredible photos each week to serve as our inspiration to write a poem. This week’s photo is no exception.

Gratitude

I am feeling small and insignificant
Perched in the crevice of this ancient tree
But amazed by its grandeur and beauty.
I am grateful to live in this incredible world
God has created for our use and pleasure.
I pray we will not ruin it for our offspring.

If you’d like to participate in Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, click on the badge above. Angel Sammy writes a terrific poem each week, which he transmits from the Rainbow Bridge. And you can find links to poems by your fellow bloggers in the Comments section. Next week’s inspiration photo also will be revealed.

Thankful Thursday

Though we have had a cwappy week, due to major construction issues, we still have much for which we are thankful.

  • This is our 1900th post.
  • We were one of five First Commenters on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats and we knew the location of the Teaser photo. We earned these two badges. Weee!

  • Even with our construction woes and ridiculously slow progress, a unique element, which is being created for us by a local artist is underway. This is one of three panels he is creating in mosaic on exterior garage walls. This panel is complete but not grouted.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by everyone’s good friend, Brian. To participate, post for what you are thankful, then click on Brian’s badge to add your link to the hop.

TARDY TABBIES

Wordy Wednesday

Yesterday mid-morning I found out that it was National Tabby Cat Day. I usually don’t post on Tuesdays and I was on my way out, so I made the decision not to write a quick post. Of course, tabbies, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer, had a lot to say about the decision. None of it nice! For a youngster, Sawyer certainly knows a lot of bad words. Yeeesh!

To appease the complainers, we are celebrating National Tabby Cat Day a day late. Though this post is far from wordless, we will be entering the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hops.

This photo of Sawyer was taken yesterday. The top cup on the new cat tree is his go-to snoozing spot now.

Cooper Murphy’s photo is from a few days ago when he was napping on our bad.

National Tabby Cat Day

Like all kitties, these two are champion cat nappers.

As many of you know, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer are not the first tabbies to be members of the Kitties Blue crew. The other three lived with us prior to the debut of The Cat on My Head. Nonetheless, Cooper and Sawyer thought it would be nice to feature them here as well.

Steamer (brown tabby) – Cat #2
MacKenzie (the original ginger tabby) – Cat #10
