STRENGTH, PATIENCE & PASSION

Sparks

This is the post I had planned for last Monday when I was having problems posting photos on the site. The photos are Dad Tom’s of the the Super Blood Wolf Moon eclipse.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie has been taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Unfortunately, during this break, Annie has been the victim of a hacker. This has continued to keep her off-line and caused her much distress. Kitties Blue and I ask for your continued prayers for Annie and her family as they try to reconcile this mess and get their lives back to normal.

Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

MAU’S KITTEN BOWL CAT-LETE SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #234

Mau has a special selfie to share with you today in honor of Kitten Bowl VI. It is this year’s official trading card for the Pouncy Panthers Team.

Mau is joining his wife Allie on the Pouncy Panthers Team. He thinks since he is a tuxie, he is half panther, and this is the purrfect team for him.

If you’d like to get your very own Kitten Bowl trading card, click on this link: Cat-lete Card Creator. Your kitty can participate on one of four teams: Last Hope Lions, Little Longtails, North Shore Bengals or Pouncy Panthers.

Kitten Bowl VI will be broadcast on the Hallmark Channel at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The first ever Cat Bowl airs at 4 p.m.

Blog Hop

It’s now time to show off your selfie, whether you decide to do it as a Cat-lete or in some other way. After all we know some of you who join us are not cats. If you are unclear who can enter or how to do it, here are a few tips.

  • The link to add your selfie to the hop is below.
  • You also will find below the code to use if you’d like the hop to appear on your blog.
  • Posting on Sundays is not necessary to join.
  • You do not need to be a cat to enter. All anipals are welcome regardless of species.
  • The hop remains open for entries through Thursday midnight.
  • Please be so kind as to display our badge and/or link to The Cat on My Head.
  • Take the opportunity to visit some of the other hop-alongs and make some new friends or reconnect with some old ones.

Thanks for hopping over to see us.

CATURDAY ART IN SILHOUETTE

Caturday Art

Today’s art features Sawyer in silhouette against the screen of the catio. He is trying to get to a squirrel (represented by a red puff ball here) on the bird feeder. The squirrel will be more evident in the original photo.

I used the Flowers effect from Painnt to create the art and added the multiply filter from the Color Composition section. I rounded the corners with Picasa.

Sawyer is joining the Caturday Art blog hop on Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s blog. If you’d like to see other art or join in with some of your own, click on Athena’s badge.

Here is the original photo.

Sawyer and I are embarrassed to continue to ask for your purrs, prayers and POTP, but he desperately needs them. He had another seizure yesterday afternoon. Little more than 60 hours had past since his previous one. The is the shortest time between any of his seizures.

Some of you have mentioned trying CBD oil to control his seizures. State law prohibits Dr. Neel from even discussing CBD oil with us. She could lose her license just for talking about it. I have investigated it a bit, but do not know how it might interact with Sawyer’s current meds. If anyone has used CBD oil and can offer first-hand accounts of how it worked for your cat, please let me know in the comments. Thank you.

Sunday Selfie Reminder

We’ll be watching the Kitten Bowl tomorrow and suspect many of you will be watching that as well as Super Bowl LIII. Before you get involved in all the celebrations and overeating, take the opportunity to snap a selfie and join our weekly blog hop. We’ve heard a rumor that your host might be Mau. This is his wife Allie’s early warning so she can be sitting down when she visits.

We look forward to seeing you.

WAKE ME WHEN THE KITTEN BOWL STARTS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #142

This is another blog hop Kitties Blue and I enjoy joining each week. It is hosted by Ellen from 15 And Meowing and Lorianne from Four-Legged Furballs. Each Thursday they post four sentences to be completed and posted on Friday. This is an easy and fun way to learn a bit more about your blogging friends, so give it a try if you haven’t in the past. You can find the link for joining the hop, by clicking on the badge at the left.

Cooper Murphy graciously agreed to help me out this week and has completed sentence #4. Both of our completions are in teal italics.

1. Superbowl Sunday is over-publicized and hyped. I normally don’t watch it, but I will watch the Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel.

2. Baseball bores me. I always compare it to watching paint dry.

3. If you have love and cats, you have everything.

4. Cooper Murphy: My skill set could get me a job at a mattress testing factory.

Wake me for the Kitten Bowl.

Feline Friday

Cooper Murphy also is showing off his belly for the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus. To join in the fun there, click on the badge below.
