Sparks
I normally would share a Spark today relating in some manner to Labor Day. Instead, I am sharing one from one of Dad Tom’s and my favorite performers, Jimmy Buffett. Buffet passed away on September 1 from Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare form of skin cancer. He was 76.
One could not be unhappy listening to Buffett’s music.
The photos above are from 2009, the third and last time we saw Buffett in concert. I had forgotten that Dad Tom and I ever looked so young!
The parrot was at the concert. If you don’t know, Buffett fans are referred to as Parrot Heads. I had forgotten the parrot was named Raleigh. That is sort of a cool coincidence!
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Raleigh, the parrot, will be participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. If you’d like to join him there, click on the badge below.
The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky
It’s time again for our two fun-loving tabbies, Periwinkle & Stinky, to set out on another adventure. It is Stinky’s turn to plan what they will be doing this week. He confided in me what he has in mind, but my lips are sealed. You’ll need to stop in right here tomorrow to join in the excitement. Adventures are always more fun with lots of friends coming along, which means they’ll be looking for you. Please don’t let them down.
That’s a terrific Spark. We always wanted to see one of his concerts, it just never worked out. We did get to have a cheeseburger in paradise though.
Great spark and photos. How lucky you are to have seen him in concert. XO

I am really sorry to learn he died from that skin cancer. I have never heard of it but looked it up before commenting. He, as Pam said is one of a kind. No one came close to his style. I will miss his happy music. Happy in that we all lit up with joy and fun when listening to his music or attending a concert.
Jimmy Buffett was absolutely one of a kind. He made us think of endless summer and smiles and fun. I never saw him in person but we ALL enjoyed his “happy music”. That’s a great photo of you and Tom – you both are TRULY forever young………
Love, Pam
OH, how dear of you to quote the wonderful Jimmy Buffet. We shall have margaritas tonight in his honor….what a man he was.
We were very sad to hear of the loss of Jimmy Buffett, too. Though we were never at his concerts. It’s so nice that you have pictures from one of his concerts that you went to! I enjoyed seeing those.
