Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
We have almost reached the end of the alphabet again with the prompts for our weekly poetry. This week’s letter is “W.” The prompt words for this week are: 1) Window, 2) Wink, 3) Worry and 4) Wiggle. We elected, however, to write about winter. Though it is not here yet, we have had more than our share of cold weather. We know some of you have already had snow, and we ask that you keep it right where it is.
Here’s our entry for this week.
Winter is Coming
Are you a fan of wintertime?
Kitties Blue definitely are not.
But we also don’t like when it’s hot!
It’s been dreary, grey and cloudy
For what seems like forever.
We do not like this crummy weather.
Though we’re not fond of these cool temps,
We’re grateful it isn’t winter yet,
When snow turns into a grimy mess.
We avoid walking in it if we can,
As it’s cold and wet on our paws.
And they feel as if they’ll never thaw.
Even the catio is chilly and no fun,
In spite of squirrels on the feeder.
We think Santa should bring a heater.
If you live where you already have snow,
Kitties Blue send you our condolences
And hope the snow hasn’t come in bunches.
We are going to pray for a mild winter
With temperatures warmer than usual,
But we suspect we’re being delusional!

This yucky white stuff is not what we want to see this winter. Squirrels and birds, however, are welcome for our viewing pleasure.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is hosted by our special friends, Teddy and angel Sammy. Master poet, Sammy, transmits a poem from the Rainbow Bridge each week for our enjoyment. And every poem is a gem. Even if you do not want to participate with a poem of your own, Sammy’s poem always is a must read. To fly on over to his and Teddy’s blog, click on the badge below. While there, check out the comments for links to other poems.
Thankful Thursday
We all, and especially Cooper Murphy, are thankful for a nice cozy home. Last January Cooper found himself homeless and wandering in the snow looking for shelter and food. He fortunately made his way to a friend’s front porch, and then our house by way of Dad and a SleepyPod. So no matter what type of winter we get, Cooper and all of the other Kitties Blue will be thankful to be safe and warm.

Wonky WordPress
If you were here yesterday, you may have noticed that our blog looked a bit strange. Some “ghost in the machine,” stole our entire sidebar, including our logo. Mom is busily rebuilding everything, but we expect it will be a couple of more days before she is finished. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
We’ll see y’all tomorrow with Friendly Fill-Ins.
Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Its snowing here today, but at least no big amounts as yet, Phew! We don’t care fur it either…Dalton has not seen it before…his Texas background saw to that, MOL!
I hope you get some good weather before winter hits.
We enjoyed your poem but we don’t enjoy winter! I am, however, enjoying the fireplace! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Well our winter was so mild last year it was practically non existent.
Very nice poem. I love Pictures. Ahh smell of winters.
Oh, I can TOTALLY relate to your poem! I looooove the cool temps, butts as Ma says ‘California cold’, which means nothing below freezing! BOL! Even when it’s ‘cold’ here, it’s not really cold ~ more like cooool. butts it’s still in the 60’s, which is good, butts humid, which is bad ☺. I loves your burdies! You gots some very purty ones!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
That’s a cute poem. The only way we like to see snow is from the inside. Though as far as we’re concerned the snow can stay away forever!
Cooper hit the jackpot by becoming a Kitties Blue! Our winter is here in the form of rain. Lots of rain. Thank Cod it’s green here year round or our mommy would be Cranky with a capital C!
Love your perfect poem! I’m with you about winter and cold. Brrr! And all the furrbabies here will be safe and warm. It’s what we all wish for all the furrbabies.
Another not fan of winter here. TW gets depressed when the days get shorter. Snow looks pretty anywhere but here.
Am also praying for a mild winter! Love the photo of the squirrel and is that a cardinal?
Good poem, as always. We like Winter, which is why we like the North Woods. God makes something for everyone. I appreciate the four seasons. You will be seeing a post on that, coming up. Love you all. I still have not heard about your reunion. I know you are busy, though. HUGS, my dear friend.
That is a great poem and the photos are wonderful!! We hope it isn’t too bad a Winter for you.
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie

What a wonderful winter poem! We don’t prefer cold weather much, either. But, don’t hate us too much, we do enjoy watching snow fall out the window. We especially like it when we’re all home on a weekend, and we can stay inside together where it’s warm and snuggle while we watch snow fall. And the mom here, she actually does like seeing a white Christmas. As long as the white stuff stays outside and leaves us alone, I guess we’re okay with that, too. Also, we are so very happy that Cooper Murphy found the most purrfect home!
What a GREAT “ode to winter” – we aren’t anxious for it either although I must admit, I’m curious about SNOW. I know Angel Sammy loved snow when he was my age but I’m not so sure I will like it. We’ll find out – or maybe not if we get NO snow this year! Sorry about your WordPress “uhoh” but knowing your Mom, things will be shipshape in no time! Thank you for supporting Angel Sammy’s poetry Thursday – we are almost at the end of the alphabet again – time for something NEW! Hopefully something FUN……………..
Love and Hugs, Teddy
We are not fans of winter, either. We’re purring for a mild one, but have a feeling we’re dreaming!
I get the feeling I’ll be seeing some winter this year – my travels have me going to colder places a couple of times!
If winter here were as pretty as yours, I might like it. You have snow and pretty birds. We have wind and rain and no special bird t.v.
