ONE OF A KIND
I don’t know how to say good-bye.
I thought you were invincible; though,
You used up many of your nine lives.
You ruled us all with an iron paw;
Never took “no” for an answer
And always got your way.
If not, you’d bark to signal your
Displeasure and sometimes raise a paw.
I always joked that you were bi-polar.
When I told people you were a calico
They immediately understood what I meant.
Today was unnaturally quiet in the house.
Can a home seem empty with eight cats?
I will miss waking up at night to find you
Sitting next to me and staring at me.
I will miss you yelling at us as you did
When you wanted breakfast and dinner.
I will miss watching you lounging and snoozing
On the porch settee on a warm afternoon.
But most of all I will miss your kisses!
When kitten Sawyer befriended you,
We suspect you were imparting your
Wisdom and secrets for controlling us.
Time will tell if he was a good listener.
But whatever he may have learned,
Neither Sawyer nor any other cat
Can or will replace you in our hearts.
Lily Olivia, you were one-of-a-kind.

Yup, Minko doesn’t believe that any rules should evfur apply to him…and he tells Pipo that too, so then there are two! And when dog-guy was a young-un…he did the pogo stick thing too…and joined any kitty that was already there. Oops! Hooligan time in this den:)

I remember Admiral got nothing at all for three or more months. Some kitties just have wait, She did fine later on.
We loved reading your post from 2012, before we knew you guys. As much as things change, they stay the same … rules don’t really apply to cats, right? 🙂

Of course paws belong on the placemat. They certainly don’t belong on the table, unless, of course there’s no placemat or tablecloth on the table.

I too enjoy how Cooper Murphy is covering two coveted objects at once 🙂 There are NO rules in this house, why bother. Marty is polite enough to just give a sniff and leave when asked. Ralphie will politely try to bury whatever he thinks is offensive and ignore the rest.
Rules are meant to be broken!
Place mats…laptops…paws belong anywhere when you’re a cat.

when it comes to the table, Cody is deaf…..he totally does NOT obey table-top rules!
Baby Guilietta is so adorable in that post, made me squee. We have given up on any rules except those for their safety like not going in the dining room ( where the pants are kept) or near the stove. Have fun at Blog Paws and thanks for making the delivery for me to Erin 🙂

We bet you’re guarding that laptop. We notice how your back leg is nestled there kinda casually like you own it. But just let someone take it away and….
Hi Cooper Murphy! You look mighty comfy guarding the placemat AND the laptop. I know you take your duties in your new house very seriously – so do I – although I prefurrr to guard Mom’s computer from behind it where all the wires are (tee hee). As for your “post from the past” – you know my Mom’s blog had a VERY slow start too but just look how both of them have moved along through the years! WOOT!
