Sunday Selfies: Week #152
We are dedicating our Sunday Selfies blog hop today to another of our dearest friends who received her angel wings a few days ago. Ellie (My wife Allie’s sisfur) is being honored today, so I am featuring her before I post my own selfie. I had Mom make a special photo of her to share with you. I want her to take centerstage today.
Ellie was only 15 years old, but she did have health issues that had worsened the last couple of weeks. She passed in Mom Sharon’s arms being stroked and told how much she was loved. That was the purrfect way to leave on her new adventure at the Rainbow Bridge with some of her fursibs and bunches of furiends. I know we’ve asked before, but if you haven’t had the opportunity to share a few kind words with Mom Sharon, Dad Bill, Allie and Raz, please drop by Friends Furever. While there can you please add some prayers, purrs and POTP for Dad Bill. Not only is he undergoing cancer treatment, but he also just landed in the hospital with a collapsed lung.
So I guess it is time for me to share my selfie. As usual I was prattling on about something when I snapped this, so my mouth is open. If I am awake, I am usually talking about something. Sorry I’m a bit blurry.
In Other News
At dinnertime last night, Mom called Lily Olivia, Misty May and me in from the front porch where we were hanging out and relaxing. She suddenly noticed that mean, neighborhood cat was lounging in our driveway. Some of you may remember that I have tangled with this meanie twice before resulting in me being bitten (Mauricio’s Boo-Boos and Bite on Butt Requires Vet Visit) both times. Mom and Meanie stared at each other for several seconds, and then Meanie went back across the street where he belongs. He took his time, however, continuing to stop, turn back and try to stare Mom down. We were already in the house. I am so grateful that guy wasn’t brave enough to come up on the porch, as I have no intention of putting up with his shenanigans.
Time to Hop
Bet you thought I’d forgotten this is a blog hop. No such luck. It is time for you to snap a selfie and show it off here. The link is below. You’ll also find the code below to add the hop to your blog if you’d like. If you do so, would you please be so kind as to post our badge and/or link back to The Cat on My Head.
Thank you to everyone who hops with us, whether it is regularly or just occasionally. And if you are new to the hop, welcome. Hope you join in often.
Until we meet again…ciao and meow, Mau
We were so heartbroken to hear about Ellie 🙁 Another sad loss for the cat blogosphere.
Mau, your selfie is wonderful. Glad that mean neighborhood cat has finally learned to stay out of your territory!
Sampy send Astrid 398247569283475938 kisses, and we all send lots of love!
Oh Mau, we was very sorries to hear about Ellie, but glad she slipped away in her mama’s arms. It has been a tough week–again. The Florida Furkids have a lot to contend with right now. We is purring for their Dad & hope he gets home very soon.
Punapippuri was my bestest friend–we exchanged royal communiques almost every day and I really miss him. The remaining kitties have formed a rag-tag new gov’t and have reached out to Me as an ally. Negotiations are on-going. They won’t be the King, sigh, but we must needs remain allies with Finland(N)! XOXOXO
We are purring and pawyering for Ellie’s Furmily at this sad time. And especially for their Dad. We hope he will be able to go home and feel a lot better soon.
That naughty meany should beware…but on the other paw we are glad you didn’t chase him…we don’t want to be hearing about bites and fights.
Ellie was a beautiful Lady and will be missed by many
We are sending much love and support to Ellie’s family.

Very sorry to hear about Ellie! As to the meanie. I have a mean cat that comes to the yard and terrorizes Amarula sometimes so I always keep a spray bottle of water ready and spray the cat– now the cat runs just when he hears me shake the bottle! And he comes much less–you might want to give it a try!
We are sad to hear about the loss of your friend Ellie, Mau. May she rest in peace. We are sending our condolences to her family. Malou says she also has a lot to say as soon as she gets up , right to her bedtime! 😀 Love to all of you and to your Mama!
the critters in the cottage xo
We were so sorry to hear about Ellie. We’re sending lots of healing purrs to her family.
We feel very sad about Ellie and our hearts break for Mom Sharon and Dad Bill who we are praying for.
Mau we are glad you didn’t have to chase down the meanie and that all is OK on the home front.
Thank you for hosting again this week.
That is a lovely tribute to Ellie.
So glad you sent that big bully cat on his way! Sending love to Ellie’s family – it’s so sweet that you do the rainbow features. Have a lovely week – we love you, your kitties, and Sunday Selfies! 🙂
That was a beautiful tribute to sweet Ellie. And I am glad the mean cat didn’t bother you. Do you know if he is fixed? Maybe if he was, he wouldn’t be such a fighter. XO
We were sure sad about dear Ellie too. Mau, you’re looking good pal. We have a very mean feral who, well, let’s just say the kittens look just like him. We can’t trap him and he won’t go away, sigh.
We are very sad about Ellie and purring hard for Dad Bill. We are so glad Meanie didn’t hurt you Mau, stay safe. Would you like us to send Fenris over to chase Meanie?
We are so sad that sweet Ellie has run off to the Bridge. We know her mom and dad’s hearts are broken and we send them lots of comforting purrs. This is a beautiful tribute to her.
And we too are glad you didn’t have to put up with that mean cat, Mau. He sounds like an angry fellow.
That is a lovely tribute to Ellie. There have been too many losses lately. You did a really nice selfie too–Real Cat Webster also has his mouth open a lot, but because he’s yawning! Stay away from the mean cat, Mau! 🙂
Sending lots of love to Ellie’s family. Thank goodness that meanie cat doesn’t try to come up on your porch. We have a meanie cat too in our neighborhood and mom chases it away with a supersoaker water gun. Now, all she has to do is turn it on and it runs away.
Such a beautiful tribute for sweet Ellie. Our heart and prayers go out to her family. Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.
Such a beautiful tribute for sweet Ellie. Our heart goes out to her family and prayers as well. Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.
There is not a to worse than having mean kitties in near the house or worse still, right up to it. I had to deal with that the thirst year I was here after Admiral passed. I screamed my lungs out and mom had the windows on that side of the use covered with opaque covering for close to two years till I got a grip.
Thank U for this beautiful tribute to Ellie. Such a beautiful description of her last hours we just want to cry. We are thinking of her and her family.
As for your neighborhood meanie we know all about it and congratulate you on staring her/him down successfully!!
So sad.
Ellie is beautiful.
We love your selfie 🙂
Purrs xx

Miss Janet!! Erin mis-posted (17) and will be posting her correct blog post in a bit. If you can take that post out, it might be helpful.
We hope this is OK.

What a week……….it’s been hard saying goodbye to so many – but we have more Angel friends now looking out for all of us. It’s a beautiful badge for Ellie – she was a pretty girl. As for you Mau – it looks like you are having quite a conversation with the camera or your Mom or maybe you’re just giving your Mom your dinner order????? We are keeping prayers going for Mr. Bill………
Love, Teddy
Hm. We think something went wrong with our comment? Is it in your spam queue?
We are so very sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful kitty. Our hearts go out to the family.💜
Such a beautiful remembrance Selfie for sweet angel Ellie. We were in shock again when we heared about her passing. Poor Daddy of her too 🙁
I think your mommy has powerful eyes to put the introoder into his place where he belongs, KittiesBlue. Your Selfie is amazing, Mauricio, we can’t see any blurriness, just that sweet face of yours 😀 Double Pawkisses for an Easy Sunday to all of you 🙂 <3
It has been an awful week in the Blogosphere, losing Ellie and Punapippuri – two kitties I consider family almost as much as my own. 🙁
We’re the occasional type of Selfie Hoppers, but it’s fun the times we join , so thank you for hosting! (We just don’t want to blog hop much because we realized that blog hopping hindered our creativity, so it’s nothing to do with your blog hop itsself).
Hope you get your problems solved with this gangster neighbor! Sounds like a nightmare. What a bad and dangerous neighborhood you’re living in!!!!!!!
Ellie and her family are in our thoughts.
Such a sad week. Sending lots of love to Ellie’s family.
That neighbor kitty sure seems like a trouble maker – maybe your parents need a water squirter for him. Some people think that’s mean, but we think it’s better than lots of other deterrents!
Hope you all have an easy Sunday.
XOXO
Angel Ellie was s beautiful. Sad for her family. I am sure she is missed.
