Caturday Art
Today’s art was created from a photo of Sawyer I took yesterday when he was on one of the top perches on the catio. It was totally back lit and turned out really fuzzy. That’s my prerequisite for using a photo for art.
I didn’t do anything “fancy” to this photo. In Picasa I sharpened it a little, which pixelated it some. I then added the HDR effect at a low percentage followed by bumping up the saturation. Finally, I altered the color temperature to bring out the blues in the background. I followed that with the Andromeda filter from piZap, which included the border.
On the right is the original photo. As you can see, it is totally washed-out and definitely not worthy of a blog post. I am entering the arty version in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. If you are interested in participating, just “artify” a photo with any photo editing app. To hop over to Athena’s blog now, click on her badge.
Special Birthday Sunday Selfies
Our blog hop tomorrow will be dedicated to Mau’s wife Allie. She will be celebrating her 16th birthday. Mau would like to ask you, if you want, to decorate your selfie as a birthday card for Allie.
Even if you don’t do a Sunday post or participate in the Sunday Selfies blog hop, please come by and leave a comment. We will be having a comment-a-thon in Allie’s honor.
,Allie has selected Friends for Animals Sanctuary in Brevard County, Florida, to receive the donation. Allie and Raz’s little sister, Noelle, is a Friends for Animals adoptee. I will be making a $1 donation for each comment here and on the Friends Furever Sunday blog post.
So, put on your best smile tomorrow and come celebrate with us. Mau has an extra special surprise for Allie, and, of course, we’ll have cake!
Really cool!

That came out great. XO
Sawyer, we think your mom did a fantastic job with your picture! Of course we think you’re super awesome anyway and Mom thinks your mom is ‘The Cat’s Meow”. 🙂

Very nicely done.
I’ll be over tomorrow to sing happy birthday for Allie.
Have a purrfect day. My best to your peeps. ♥
We think that looks great. You took a darkish photo and made it very colorful!

The Florida Furkids with bazillion smoochies and tons of love to Mau from Allie
That sure is a nice one Sawyer!
I love it!!!
That looks great! It looks like a really cool painting. 🙂
It came out lovely! Actually, there’s even an appeal to the original, too! 😀
That turned out really well.Even though it was washed out, I do like the silhouette effect in the original too.
The picture turned out great. I would say you made lemonade from lemons but the original did have a certain appeal to it, even though it was a bit fuzzy.
That’s a great photo – “artified” or “as is”……I like the dark/light combination in the original but the revised one is super interesting as well. These artsy programs are fun – my Mom loves playing with my photos too. We will be purrrrrpared to celebrate Allie’s birthday tomorrow…..I think it will be a wonderful way to honor her with the commentathon.
Love and Happy Saturday, Teddy
The art turned out really well!
I love how you take ‘bad’ images and make them look so good!
I have tons of junk pictures…MOL!
Pawsome art!
