Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #82
1. I can’t believe Silly Putty is still sold, as it is so low-tech. It was always on my Christmas list as a kid. SillyPutty is a trademarked name of Crayola. Similar brands are marketed under other names. According to Wikipedia, Silly Putty was invented in 1943 and since 1950, more than 300 million eggs of Silly Putty (approximately 4,500 short tons or 4,100 tonnes) have been sold.
2. I have been on Craigslist only once when I was looking to see if anyone had listed (not Charlie) Cooper Murphy as “lost.”
3. Going into December, the weather outside is mild, just the way I like it. Growing up in California, the temperatures were usually in the 60s during the day at Christmastime. Some people get all mopey when it isn’t cold and snowing on Christmas. I get happy if it isn’t.
4. My current weakness is just about everything. My all-time weakness would be the (handmade on-site since 1850) dark chocolate truffles from a shop in Lausanne, Switzerland, named Blondel.
Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15AndMeowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). You can find the sentences to complete each Thursday on their blogs. The hop appears on Annie’s blog. You can enter it by clicking on her badge. My completions are in teal italics.
More From Sawyer
Now for the expected and required kitten photos. Be prepared to SQUEEE!
Sawyer is in the pouch of my KittyRoo sweatshirt. The first photo was taken before he got his eye meds and amoxicillin. The second was taken after. He’s all tuckered out from the ordeal. Sawyer’s eyes are looking great, and he is sneezing and sniffling less. Dad Tom and I will be happy when he is no longer quarantined. He really doesn’t like being alone, and we cannot be with him 24/7.
Anniversary
Though I wrote a poem for Fiona yesterday, reflecting upon her getting her angel wings last year, today is the actual one-year anniversary of that event. She lay cuddled on my chest that entire day and so many times I wanted to call Dr. Neel and ask her to come and help her. I could tell she was suffering. I was both relieved and heartbroken when she took her last breath. Fiona fought hard for 49 weeks. She was brave and strong and fearless and will remain an inspiration always. I thank God she was a part of our family for those six-and-a-half years.
I’d like to thank all those who visited and commented on yesterday’s poem. Your kind words warmed by heart. If you missed yesterday’s post, you can find the link below.
Sawyer sure did make petcretary squee!
Your Fiona was so precious. We are glad we got to know her a wee bit. Hugs to you all, its so hard when we come to these milestones…but she will not ever be forgotten, as her memories are deep with in your heart to treasure always.
A year has flown by. I miss seeing dear Fiona, but I see now that another handsome (and smokey) boy has joined your happy home. Sending you extra thoughts and hugs this week and sharing in your joy of new family members 🙂

What a sweet-looking cat! A few years ago it was 80 here on Christmas Day but TW could remember a year when she got home from Gramma’s, her pipes had frozen cos it was below zero.
Yep! Sawyer made my Mom squee! He is a total cutie! We are so happy that he’s feeling better. And it is hard to believe it has been a year since Fiona went over the bridge. We send you love
Purss
Marv & Mom
We miss Fiona too. I can’t believe it’s already been a year! The world is a slightly colder place without her in it. I love the pictures of Sawyer cuddled up in your arms. He reminds me of Bear … rough beginnings, but love with plenty to spare 🙂
Aw, Sawyer is a cutie! We can’t wait to get to know him better. Purrs to you as you remember your sweet Fiona. She was such a special girl.
Sawyer is SERIOUSLY Cody’s twin lol
haha Mom remembers silly putty but didn’t know that Crayola was involved. Nice to know. Mom has seen that Blondel chocolate. She doesn’t like dark chocolate though.
Sawyer is a good lookin’ guy like the rest of the bLUE BOYS.
Fiona was a wonderful lady and she struggled to survive but it was her time and now she can relax. It’s so difficult though cause heart misses them so much.
That sweet Sawyer is so darn cute!
Sweet Sawyer
Sending comforting purrs as you remember Fiona today. As for Sawyer, SQUEEEE! OMC! He’s so cute! By the way, our mommy wants dark chocolate from that place now!
I am in tears. I know that awful feeling, that deep deep love.
What super fill-ins……Mom remember silly putty and how it would “pop” if you got an air bubble in it while playing with it. Also Mom understands warm at Christmas since she lived in Florida for a bunch of years BUT it was one of the reasons she moved back to Virginia – she missed the COLD! HAHAHA Love the photos of Sawyer – he’s a perfect #9 for the KB Krew. Fiona was a beauty – and she was ever so brave……Angel Sammy says she’s happy at the Bridge…….love is forever.
Hugs, Teddy
I am sorry you didn’t have more time with Fiona. Sawyer is adorable. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am glad Cooper Murphy was not listed as missing on craigslist. I forgot about silly putty, I think I will get some for my great niece for a stocking stuffer. I used to love to push it on the comic section and see the print get onto it. Have a nice weekend! XO
My momma is da same way – she likes a warm Christmas. She grew up in Texas and California and HATES when it gets cold.
I’m looking forward to Sawyer joining the rest of your family too!
I am glad Sawyer is doing OK he looks so serious and frowny in the first picture but I guess that’s the ordeal he went through.
We know you will miss Fiona but she has been busy! Now only Cooper Murphy but also Sawyer are now in your care!!
