Sunday Selfies: Week #143
If you can’t tell, I was not too happy about having to do the selfie this week. I refused to look at the phone when I snapped the first one (photo on the right). I made certain to make my most pouty face in the second photo to show my displeasure. Though I was unhappy about the selfie part of this post, I am grateful that I am the one who gets to dedicate this week’s Sunday Selfies to our good friend, Flynn Avery.(Eric & Flynn’s Adventures)
Flynn was a regular Sunday Selfie hopper, even when he wasn’t in the mood. His health had been failing for a long time, and he was looking rather tired last Sunday. But he had rallied so many times, we were all certain he’d do so again. It broke all our hearts when we found out he didn’t perk up but got his special kitty angel wings.
Angel Sammy and he were almost always right next to each other in the selfies line-up—the two handsome ginger and white man cats together. We know for certain that Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats), Angel Nellie (Nellie on the Edge) and Flynn’s brother Angel Eric (and so many other friends) were waiting for him with open paws and hearts. We suspect Flynn and Eric already have been busy hunting mousies in the vast, lush, green fields.
Fly free, Flynn. We’ll miss you and never forget you. You’ll remain in our hearts always.
So, I have shown you mine, and now it’s time for you to share your selfie with us and all the other hoppers. All anipals are welcome, so I sure hope you will invite your friends to join us as well. And you can add your selfie anytime through Thursday if you don’t normally post on Sundays.
The link for adding your selfie is below as is the code to add the hop to your blog if you’d like. If you would be so kind as to link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge, I will take the grumpy look off my face. Thanks to all our long-time hoppers and the newbies. We appreciate each and every one of you.
Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia

We are late – but we finished everyone.
Have a wonderful time at BlogPaws, and say hello to Erin’s dad Mark. He is so nervous going all that way and I’m not there with Mum to keep an eye on him. He is a lovely guy and will have his Erin t-shirt on (we think).

This is a bittersweet selfie sunday post. How thoughtful of you to remember all of our friends. Mommy still gets tears in her eyes when she reads about them.
Lovely tribute to your friend, Flynn. Our purrs are with his family.
We think your selfie is purrfect and cat like! We don’t look at the camera either! 🙂
This is such a wonderful tribute to dear Flynn. He was an extraordinary kitty and a very, very Good Boy.
Here’s what I think: I think it is too bad that we kitties live for such a short time when the Humans who always make such a mess of things live five or six times as long as we do! It should be the other way around and this world would be a much better place.
Something to work on for the future!
Much love to all of you and special kissies to Miss MM XOXOXO
What a LOVELY picture of you today Lily Olivia, even if you did not want to do it. And what a lovely memorial to Flynn. He was a wonderful cat. Thanks for mentioning Nellie too. I am sure she and Sammy, Eric, Flynn and GJ are enjoying themselves.
Love Barb
We get that not wanting to look at the camera, Lily Olivia…we totally get it, MOL! None the less, its still a great selfie.
What a sweet tribute to Flynn.
I’m with you. I knew Flynn had been failing, but he surprised me so many times with his strength and his will to live. I was just heartbroken when I heard he’d left us for good. Things just won’t be the same without him. You’re lovely to remember him in such a prominent way on your blog.

The Two Devon Cats, Eric and Flynn, were among the first blogs I found when I started. Their adventures and hunting trips on their farm helped me understand what it is to be a cat living in a place where they are safe to BE a cat. I so envied them both. And the cat blog world loved them and sends Mom Jackie and Dad Ivor all our supporting and healing purrs.

Thinking of sweet Angel Flynn. I know he is now with his brother Eric and they are enjoying running and playing together.
Thank you for dedicating this Selfie Sunday to Flynn. We miss him so much and had been worried for some time seeing his health go up and down.
