Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #45
I am again participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins co-hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Each week they create statements for us to complete. Ellen selects the first two and Annie the second two. This is a blog hop. You can link your Fill-In post on Annie’s blog.
My completions are in teal italics.
The fill-ins didn’t lend themselves to including many photos, and I did not feel like digging through the aforementioned albums to find a photo of Grandpa Herman on his birthday. You can see a photo of me (as a toddler) and my grandpa by clicking here.
Yesterday’s Post
I had a brain cramp Wednesday night when I went to bed and forgot to schedule yesterday’s post. Consequently, it didn’t post until 10 a.m. ET. I know many of you visit in the early morning hours so probably missed it. Cooper Murphy wrote a cute poem, and I am asking on his behalf that you check it out. You can click on the link below this post. Thank you.
Special Caturday Art
As I always do, I will be participating in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. Caturday will be Giulietta’s and Angel Fiona’s seventh birthdays. In celebration, I will be creating art from two of their “baby” photos. I know I am prejudiced, but in my opinion, they were two of the cutest kittens ever and definitely worthy of a squeee or two. Hope you’ll come by and visit, as we will have a small party.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY
What a lovely stately home!
Our home is from 1907, but is a pile of sticks (literally…), by comparison…MOL!
We enjoyed this post immensely:)
Some of the homes we have looked at up in the UP are 1890s, very similar to yours. The one we most wanted was from 1896. We missed it by two days! We are still looking. I wonder where my journals will end up. There is no one to take them. We have our own traditions, too. Life does that. HUGS. I am finally on two antibiotics and three breathing RX. They think I have a virulent pneumonia. We will see. This cough is ridiculous. I hope you are better! Hugs.

Ooooh! I LOVE your house! It’s 18 years older than our house! 🙂 I’ve always had a thing for old houses – our house in PA was built in 1817. We were a little bummed we didn’t stay long enough to celebrate its 200th birthday this year. 🙂

What a lovely home you have! We don’t know what’s the oldest thing in our house is but we think it’s something Mommy inherited from her great Aunt or her grandparents.

Your home is gorgeous!!! Not many houses of that age here because this area didn’t get developed until the Space Program started. There are a few on the mainland that are beautiful though.
Happy St Patrick’s Day! Allie O’Blue is looking forward to partying at Scouts with Mau later!

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. And thank you for sharing the photo of your home, it is beautiful. I so much prefer older homes to the new cookie cutter McMansions. Our house was built in 1947, my hubby’s aunt and uncle lived in it until 1980 when my hubby got it then I arrived here in 1992 when we got married. That is a cute photo of you with your grandpa. I did see Cooper Murphy’s poem, he is already quite the poet. Have a great weekend! XO

We love your house…..it’s just beautiful and so is the yard…..my Mom has ALWAYS wanted to live in a house of that vintage but alas – it’s just not happened. We saw Cooper’s fantabulous poem – and we thank you for pawticipating in poetry day – we just love doing that!!!! Mom is sending a card for the girls’ birthday…..it will be sad for you I know but Angel Fiona will enjoy it AND there is a party for her at the Bridge so I’ll give her a big hug from you!

Your home is beautiful! My home and many others in the neighborhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, and they were largely built by high school shop classes as a means of giving the students practice. That’s probably why there are so many strange quirks, like outlets that only work when certain light switches are flipped on. Anyway, we always enjoy your fill-ins, and it sounds like you have such a rich and charming family history. Wishing you all a happy St. Patrick’s Day!

My house was also built in 1912 but it’s not as lovely as your home. Is that Misty May on the sidewalk?
I saw you had posted late but I just didn’t get around to looking as cutie Cooper Murphy until this morning. I loved his poem!
