Thankful Thursday
We usually begin our Thursday post with our Thoroughly Poetic Thursday poem; however, we are switching it up this week. Cooper Murphy is so much improved after having a high fever and being quite sick at the end of last week. His right eye is not 100% yet and he continues to get ointment in each eye. He also has meds to take for a few more days. But he should make a full recovery for which we, especially Mom and Dad, are all grateful. Cooper and the entire family thank you for the purrs, prayers and POTP.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
This week’s photo prompt is a day at the beach. Having grown up in California, the beach is a place our humans really enjoy visiting. We, however, have no interest in such a thing, as evidenced by our poem. That little boy in the photo doesn’t look very enthusiastic either!
No Ocean Vacation for Kitties Blue
We’ve never been to the beach.
The distance makes it out of reach
For cats who don’t like the PTU,
Which includes most of the Kitties Blue.
Even a short car ride is not enjoyed,
So a six-hour drive would surely make us annoyed.
Sand between our toes might be okay,
Much like the litter box we’re in each day.
But we definitely don’t like wet feet,
Which might occur if the ocean we meet.
We’ve all seen the video of Mau in the pool.
None of us plan to be similar fools.
Taking a dip in the great big ocean
Would be an incredibly stupid notion.
We’ll just ponder this photo picked by Teddy’s mom
And stay home in bed safe and calm.

Secret Paws
We’re all hoping we can open our Secret Paws package today, since Cooper Murphy is feeling better. If that happens, we’ll tell you all about it tomorrow and combine Friday Fill-Ins with Caturday Art the following day. Guess you’ll just have to check back tomorrow to see what we’ve been doing.

Glad the boy is better!
Now, everyone else stay well. That’s an order!!
Wonerful that Cooper Murphy is feeling better.
And Pipo has not seen an ocean either, though MJF has…way way back when he was a 2 month old puppy…at least if Chesapeake Bay counts…
Dalton being from Texas…not sure what he has seen, and of course he is keeping it a secret!
We live at the edge of the ocean but
I stay in the house. Love the poem!
We are so thankful that Cooper Murphy is on the mend too, that’s wonderful. I enjoyed your poem but always thought I’d like the beach, all that sand to dig in! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
So glad Cooper M is much improved ! It’s gonna hafta get a lot warmer around here before ANYBODY considers going to the beach !
Kitties, I have to say that as much fun as it is to go to the beach, the sand and sun and waves and the smell of suntan lotion can be freaky for a cat, and for some humans too! Still sending hugs and purrs for Cooper Murphy, but it’s good to know that he’s improved.
dood…we iz BUZZED happee yur doin sew well, continmewed blessingz from R pal St Francis coz itz all wayz nice ta haz spare ~~~~~~ ♥♥
We’ve been thinking about you all and have been sending purrs and prayers to Cooper Murphy. We’re so glad he’s feeling better! And your poem is purrfect. The kitties around here agree 100%. Between the PTU, the long drive, and the fact that it involves water, a trip to the beach is simply a no-go. Purrs! And we can’t wait to see what you got from your Secret Paws!
I am glad Cooper Murphy is feeling better. Great poem, I must be a cat, I don’t like the ocean either. XO
I am so happy to hear that Cooper Murphy is on the mend! That is great news indeed. Love that poem. My kitties are not the only ones relating! LOL!
We’re so happy Cooper Murphy is doing so well. We’ll keep up the purrs and prayers until he’s 100% better! Great poem!
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie
So glad to hear Cooper Murphy is on the mend! Your poem is excellent, though personally I love to be near the ocean and listen to the waves.
We’re SO glad Cooper Murphy is feeling better! As for that vacation, we’re with you guys. Though that beach does look like one big litter box to us.
Really glad, Cooper Murphy is feeling better. Purrs and Pats for his complete recovery.
I am very happy to hear about Cooper Murphy and I think you would love the beach as long as you don’t get too close to the water.
I’m so happy my fellow ginger big boy is better – he sure had a BAD bug and we hope it doesn’t hang around any longer and gets the hint it’s not wanted! We love your poem and I’m not sure how I’d feel about the beach other than it truly would be the biggest litterbox EVER! When my Mom lived in Florida she had a kitty named Moose who LOVED to go to the beach with her. He liked to poke in the sand for shells and get his toes wet in the foam from the surf. I think he was a bit nuts though – I think most of us aren’t too happy about WET!! Thanks for pawticipating in poetry day. Hugs to “The Coop” !
Love, Teddy
How come I missed Cooper Murphy was sick?
Get well soon little buddy.
I’m so glad to hear that Cooper Murphy is doing so much better!
