Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
We’re back again today to join Angel Sammy and Teddy in writing a bit of poetry. Sammy transmits an always fantastic poem from the Rainbow Bridge and invites his friends to join in the fun. For a long time we used the letters of the alphabet for our prompts. Now Mom Pam provides a photo each week to stimulate our imaginations. The photo this week is sort of silly and so is our poem. We added a caption to the photo as well.

Opposable Thumbs Up
Humans take photos when they visit the zoo,
As it turns out monkeys take photos too.
Do you think they find humans intriguing
Or is their interest merely fleeting?
They probably think our looks are absurd,
As our bodies are not totally furred.
Perhaps they’re interested in anthropogenesis
And wonder if humans are related to the Rhesus.
Or perhaps it’s just the camera this monkey appreciates,
And he could care less if he and humans relate,
Though 93 percent of our DNA is the same,
Being your relative he probably won’t claim.
But both of you can take all the photos you wish,
As you have opposable thumbs, unlike fish!

Thankful Thursday
Even though the cold weather has returned along with the eye “icks” to Misty May and Mau, we have a thankful today. We are thankful to have a little color in our otherwise winter drab yard. Daffodils, forsythia and quince are blooming. Now we know for certain that spring is coming. We’ll really be thankful when the temperatures catch up.
We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. After posting for what you are grateful, click on Brian’s badge and join the hop.
Excellent poem. We’re sorry the Eye Icks have come back. Allie wants to know if Mau needs her to teleport over to comfort him.
The Florida Furkids with bazillion HEALING smoochies and loads of love to Mau from Allie.
I didn’t realize you were still battling the eye icks. I hope they leave your house soon.
Aw, that’s too bad about Misty Mae and Mau. 🙁 Hopefully that will clear up AND the weather will warm up soon!
What a fun poem! And we’re sending lots of purrs to Mau and Misty May that their eye icks go away!
Oh, you are good. Well done with this prompt!
The eye icks…is it FHV or FHV-1? Oh, that stuff is nasty, and chronic. Many moons ago we dealt with a round of it from some strays/ferals. They had bouts their entire lives. I am glad you care and have good vets. HUGS!
I love your poem. Most clever.
Sorry about the eye icks as well.
Being thankful is good.
Have a purrfect day. My best to your mom. ♥
Love the photo and the poem. Clever + it fits the photo. How did you get this photo?
Terrific poem, but sorry to hear about the eye icks again. Our snow drops are blooming, but there is ice on the cat’s water bucket every morning still. And flurries…days, and days, and days of flurries!
Now that was a fun poem to go with this fun photo! What’s not fun are the eye icks. Purrs and prayers to Misty May and Mau, and all of you!
That is a great poem. I hope Misty May and Mau feel better soon. XO
That was a great poem for such a fun photo. Those darn eye ickies, go away already! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh, I love it! Monkeys probably look at us and wonder why our fur fell out 🙂
BRILLIANT! Love your poem for the funny photo we did this week in the challenge. We had a feeling it would be a FUN group of poems that were produced and indeed that’s the case. Sometimes it’s just fun to go with a “different” kind of photo as it certainly gets “different” types of creativity going doesn’t it. Thanks for always playing along with us on Thursdays. I know Angel Sammy loves that so many have fun with this challenge as we do! We find NEXT week’s prompt SCARY!
Love, Teddy
MOL! Luv da poem!
Now that is one fun poem! Love it…but I really hope no monkey hats a hold of my camera…
POTP to those afflicted once again with those eye icks. Sheesh.
Oh the photograph made me giggle. If a monkey got hold of my new camera dad would do absolutely erm….. APE!!!!!
Have a good Thursday.
There are some pretty crazy poems for this week’s photo!
I was thinking, as Mango, one eye has been streaming tears lately! And its rubbed a bloody red spot along the same side of Mango, her nose! She hated my warm compress! I ran getting the triple Antibiotics Eye Ointment from the last time Mango had Trouble with a similar trouble where skin around her eye had trouble. She tried to run away but I had already put a thin line of eye antibiotic Ointment on my Right first finger so I cuffed Mango with my left hand and put the Ointment along Mango her Red Sore along her nose and above her eye too! It appears an allergy but only in one eye! Maybe it is the result of Jack and His all Male growlling pronoucements of Entitlememts to Everything! Even spots where he has never gone! So Can we Compare Eye Icks, are your Eye Icks Goopy? Mango her Runny eye is clear! It appeared as an allergy but now I realize an allergy would probably be in both eyes!
