Tuxie Tuesday Doozy of a Snoozy
Since Sawyer came to live with us and Lily Olivia got her wings, the dynamic around our house is totally different. We are all a bit confused as to our roles. Misty May is trying to assert herself and take over Lily Olivia’s position as Commander of Everything and Everyone. Unlike Lily, however, she is needy, as opposed to demanding. The humans consider needy to be an annoying trait, and the remainder of us must agree. This isn’t to say that most of us don’t love Misty May. We just don’t think she is leadership material. After all, she is a bully. We understand many powerful people are bullies, but that will not be tolerated in our coterie of cats.
Misty May has been doing her best to curry favor with some of us to gain our support, especially the other tuxie female in the house, Lisbeth.
As you can see, she has taken Lisbeth under her wing paw, even when they are sleeping. We suggest that Lisbeth not get too cozy. We know this camaraderie will not last if Misty May takes over as Top Cat.
Misty May and Mau are the oldest of this rag-tag bunch, so one of them probably is next in line for the job. We suspect mild-mannered Mau will garner most of the votes. He is a good candidate, as he has learned many important rules with regard to leadership as an Order of the Arrowhead, Sabertooth Cat Scout.
Misty May is not suited to ascend to the throne (Mom’s lap) as she refuses to sit quietly in contemplation—a most important trait for all of those in power. Mau can get awfully wordy at times, but he does recognize the importance of a regal bearing while on the throne. MOUSES! Did we really say that?
The new hierarchy definitely has not been decided, and we suspect we can look forward—NOT—to a long campaign season. In the meantime most of us are keeping a low profile, except for Sawyer. He can’t help himself. He’s just a kitten and only understands three things—eat, sleep and play.
We’ll keep you posted as to how this all shakes out.
Speaking of Lily Olivia
We want to share with you the Angel vSquillion Lily Olivia we adopted. She joins the ranks of all the other Kitties Blue angels (except cat #1, Skooter) on our vSquillion page. If you’d like to visit, click on the The Felines tab at the top of the page and then the vSquillion dropdown.
Thanks for joining us today. We’ll see you tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday.
Purrs and paw-pats, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
We didn’t realize there were such personality changes that go on in big kitty families. It’s pretty interesting since we’re so boring. We do the same ole same ole every day.
Well, if we were voting Mau would be a paw in!
Just when I think Bear’s the leader and top cat around here … I wonder if Ellie’s just the strong silent type. She does her own thing and doesn’t let Bear boss her around. It’s always interesting to observe the changes – some of them major and completely unexpected – when the hierarchy is thrown into chaos. We think Astrid could step up 😉
We hope everybuddy settles down and peace reigns.
Whoa! What a power struggle. I think maybe you should throw your paw into the ring too. If Mau is shy, he might get the votes but Misty May will topple his regime in no time. Oh dear.
What a sweet picture ! Arrivals, losses, it’s hard to keep the balance in a cat family sometimes. We hope you all find a new balance soon. Purrs
Such a sweet picture! Enjoy it while they’re sleeping! 😀
hay ewe galz iz ther gonna bee an electshun at yur houz with like votin masheenz
N stuff…if ya start yur campane now ya shuld bee good to go bye novemburrz !! 🙂 ♥♥
The politics of the cat clowder! Or coterie of cats…
So I guess Daisy Mae is fortunate she’s the only cat around here. In fact she’s queen bee. Good luck in deciding who get’s top billing.
This sounds like what is happening around here since Phoebe got her wings. Prancie is sweet and next in line, but Sammy is a bully, despite being a Cat Scout.
That is a cute photo of Lisbeth and Misty May. XO
One of you kitties has mighty big shoes – paws, we mean paws – to fill, taking over Lily Olivia’s role as Commander of Everything and Everyone. Though we can’t play favorites, we are thinking that Mau may very well indeed be the man for the job. Purrs to all of you!
Well, I would campaign for Mau, because I suspect even Misty May would be happier to have someone with a thoughtful disposition and steady paw in charge.
Oh I am betting on Mau to become top dog – oops I mean cat! He’s a natural leader at Scouts, a very responsible husband to Allie, and was the trusted and valued best friend to my brother Angel Sammy for so many years. Sounds like good credentials to me!
Hugs, Teddy
I suspect it’ll be Mau in da long run.
It sounds like things get really complicated when leadership shakes up around your house!
Hmmm a pecking order needing to be regulated. That could prove to be an interesting phenomena…with lots of hissing and whapping…hopefully more hisses than whaps or bites.
Hope it all sorts out soon so peace can rule the den once more:)
What a sweet picture and funny story. I think Clyde could easily take over, especially unneutered. He is so confident, and has charmed literally everyone. And, those huge eyes of his!
I am truly surprised that Mau does not run the house. He seems to have a cool, calm, and stable disposition. ah, cats will do it their way.
HUGS!
